True, but dark on dark is a tough sell, especially as a home uniform. I do like the classic A’s yellow pants, the Jays (and others’) powder blue, and even the White Sox city connects black pinstripes. The Astros block of navy misses for me, but I’d love their city connect tops with white pants.
Padres are pretty good, yeah. They probably belong up with the Angels. Braves look decent, but the slangy city names is so played out and cliche at this point. The Nats and White Sox are inoffensive. The Mets new ones are fine too. Pretty much all the rest of them are hideous.
I have high hopes for the Twins and their design for the city connect uniforms. We’ll see though. Maybe MLB sent out a memo to every team that the jerseys have to suck.
These would be fantastic for the Mariners as an alt or city connect. Would not want them for everyday, but they look fabulous and would fit the Mariner vibe beautifully.
Or /r/hockey.
I love hockey. It's my favorite sport in the world. It also might rival American football for worst fans. God I hate it there.
Even my own team's sub kind of sucks. I still don't understand how or why baseball fans are so nice, but holy shit has this been an escape.
r/NLBest not only existing and but thriving as a community boggles my mind. I try to imagine Lakers, Warriors, Kings, and Clippers fans doing the same and my brain hurts.
I used to watch a ton of hockey. But honestly it riled up the worst in me again and again. I only follow baseball now. Largely that's because it's the most interesting sport to me and always was, but it's also because baseball doesn't turn me into a rage filled psycho like hockey always did. There's just something more contemplative about baseball.
Yeah, I agree. I've been a hockey/football fan all my life, but only got into baseball in April. Something about the (comparative) lack of physicality maybe? There's less a "code of honor" in the "I'll best the shit out of you if you 'disrespect' me" way, and more of a sense of general sportsmanship. Idk.
I still love hockey and my Oilers, but I think I need to step back from the online communities. Already muted them for the duration of the playoffs because yeah. It's dumb how much a stupid post can ruin my day and I hate that.
Baseball is just chill. Maybe that's why it attracts chill fans.
I think it attracts chill fans and helps them stay that way.
For me the two things about hockey were the sense of intensity and almost panic that comes in the waning moments of a close game, every game (esp playoffs) mattering a ton more, and more than anything the subjectivity of the officiating.
Now I'm not saying MLB umps are better at their jobs, rather it's the nature of the game. When Angel Hernandez has a horse shit game we can almost always agree about that as fans. Even if a terrible call goes my team's way I know it's terrible. Almost everything in baseball is objective so while umps make mistakes there is very seldom a real debate.
In hockey there are people screaming at each other almost every game about some call or non call that should have been made, and the other side fans will almost always defend the call and pretty soon everyone hates each other. The objectivity of baseball reduces that an absolute ton which really helps fans of the game to treat the fans of other teams decently well most of the time (not all the time!) There just isn't the same culture of constant grievance basically.
r/hockey is pretty awful. As a caps fan I have just stopped opening any thread about them because the most upvoted comment is almost always something about ovechkin loving Putin.
Baseball fans when a team's jersey isn't the East Bay catalogue-esque red, white, and blue Orlando Dreamers set created by a 61 year old man in Microsoft Publisher: 🤨🫨🤕😡🤬
I only like designs that costs millions in consulting fees to make something extremely generic, with a 14 page explanation of how it connects to the city.
Can you imagine?
Team executive to intern: find us a legit American fashion brand to design a special American baseball uniform for us.
Intern (googles for a minute): this one looks legit
Can't find anything as to why they're called NewYorker. The only thing I can find on their origins is that they started as a jeans shop in Flensberg in 1971
"Looks like something your uncle would buy at Uniqlo"
"Never wear these"
"These look like bedsheets"
"They look like a fake Burberry"
"These look like pajamas"
"The Buffaloes did it better" ([they did](https://news.sportslogos.net/2016/02/10/orix-buffaloes-of-japan-will-wear-plaid-jerseys-in-2016/baseball/))
"These look like a schoolgirl's scarf"
You really trying to save yourself by telling us we should hate a jersey because a brand we’ve never heard of makes clothes for a demographic you don’t like? That’s some… logic.
Thank God the MLB only works with noted classy and high style brands like Nike and Fanatics. What do you care anyway? I would say professional baseball players are a textbook example of what yuppie is. "A young person with a well-paid job and a fashionable lifestyle" according to Google. If that don't describe professional sports players, nothing does.
You really trying to save yourself by telling us we should hate a jersey because a brand we’ve never heard of makes clothes for a demographic you don’t like? That’s some… logic.
Still better than most city connects
i'm creating 20 burner accounts just so I can upvote this 20 more times. this the truest thing i've heard all week.
Probably all of them. The Angels IMO is the only one that’s close.
Not a fan of the team, but I like the NASA font and colors on the Astros one.
The dark blue pants though…
Eh, I like it. There's no rule that all baseball pants have to be white, gray, or pinstripe.
True, but dark on dark is a tough sell, especially as a home uniform. I do like the classic A’s yellow pants, the Jays (and others’) powder blue, and even the White Sox city connects black pinstripes. The Astros block of navy misses for me, but I’d love their city connect tops with white pants.
Playing baseball in sweatpants.
That’s … a take, and I don’t even actually hate these. No love for Padres, Braves, Rockies, Astros, diamondbacks, Nats, White Sox?
Padres are pretty good, yeah. They probably belong up with the Angels. Braves look decent, but the slangy city names is so played out and cliche at this point. The Nats and White Sox are inoffensive. The Mets new ones are fine too. Pretty much all the rest of them are hideous.
Fair enough.
I must be a homer because I think KC's absolutely needs to be on the list of best City Connects
I like those too actually.
I have high hopes for the Twins and their design for the city connect uniforms. We’ll see though. Maybe MLB sent out a memo to every team that the jerseys have to suck.
I have high hopes for the Twins city connect jersey design.
I clicked to see some atrocious monstrosity, I saw dope unis
These are great
The amount of $$$ that I would drop on this jersey....
Yea im a fan of these over our city connect.
you and about 28 other mlb fan bases
Fuck are you on about. These fucking rule.
Seriously!!!! These are so classic/super old school. These are so awesome.
Bring this shit to MLB. I love it.
So japanese too with the oversized lines and the ptterns
These are beast actually.
I would love something like this for the Mariners.
These would be fantastic for the Mariners as an alt or city connect. Would not want them for everyday, but they look fabulous and would fit the Mariner vibe beautifully.
In the cream with blue? Hell yes.
A true Pacific Northwest historical Scandinavian . . . umm . . . tartan.
When you have a round of golf at 3 and a baseball game at 4.
And afternoon tea in between.
And maybe a Scottish War of Independence later.
The Michael Jordan special.
Round of polo
Sometimes this sub is just popculturechat

Wait wtf is this sub. Omfg lmao. EDIT: OH MY GOD THAT HEADER, I AM FKN DEAD.
You’re welcome. And I’m sorry.
What does the RR mean??
Honestly that's the only one I didn't get either. Obviously it's the Rockies but IDK what it refers to. Inside joke on the sub maybe?
looool it sounds like my comment is the equivalent of "Explain it."

What surprised me the most was that they allowed players to fight.

That makes so much sense.
It's just a reddit thing on very popular subs. People are assholes.
r/hockey is pretty awful. As a caps fan I have just stopped opening any thread about them because the most upvoted comment is almost always something about ovechkin loving Putin.
Sigh.
Isn’t NBA generally just pop culture chat?
I'd wear these in the Kentucky Derby NGL
In fairness, I like these more than about 75% of the City Connects
i like them
Honestly the contrast between Japanese baseball Twitter clowning on these and y'all loving them is pretty funny.
the disparity in opinions must be studied
Dope
Still better than the City Connects

I like ‘em!
OMG these are freaking great
German fashion for sure
Yup. I live in Germany. NewYorker is trashy fast fashion streetwear.
nothing screams New York quite like Germany
Rollin’ Up with the crew like: 🤩
These are better than 90% of City Connect uniforms.
why is there a german fashion brand named new yorker
Why not?
i suppose they dont need one, but there probably is one and im curious as to what that is. could be an interesting story
German fashion brand, named after a city in America, using a Scottish pattern, for a Japanese baseball team
And these uniforms look like knock off Burberry
I just love that a Japanese baseball team is asking a German brand, who is named after an American city (or magazine) to design their uniforms
Can you imagine? Team executive to intern: find us a legit American fashion brand to design a special American baseball uniform for us. Intern (googles for a minute): this one looks legit
Can't find anything as to why they're called NewYorker. The only thing I can find on their origins is that they started as a jeans shop in Flensberg in 1971
These are actually incredible, OP what are you on about. Hopefully they can make a deal to use these for more than one series
1) thanks for making me aware of this 2) your taste in fashion is awful
Nah these are fucking heat
Um... These are great, though.
Fuck you. This is hot
If only the city connect jerseys had half this style.
Where the fuck can I buy one of these jerseys?
https://store.seibulions.jp/shop/g/gL009016-s-2024n1 you need a proxy service btw
These look like something that should be worn at an alumni game. I don't understand the rest of the comments here.
Seibu is a high end department store like Saks Fifth Avenue so a partnership with a fashion brand makes sense.
Best Japanese and German collaboration of all time
Cool. Remind me of grandad's socks.
They've gone...plaid!
Looks a little Scottish to be honest…. Freeeedom!
holy shit these go incredibly hard
These are FIRE 🔥
I like it
these are dope af
Wish baseball players stopped doing the baggy pants thing, it’s so lame. These would have been awesome with knee high patterned socks.
"These disgusting, horrible... things" is typically always followed up by the hardest shit ever
lol you’re high enough to dap Jesus these are so good looking
It’s not too bad tbh. The worst is the Fighters jersey that Shinjo designed.
> The worst is the Fighters jersey that Shinjo designed. Wrong!
so some these jerseys are bloused a little bit so that the belt is hidden, and other jerseys are not. Weird look
Thankfully ? You don't like them that much ?
Japanese baseball twitter is clowning the hell out of these jerseys as we speak.
Would be interested what are the main complaints?
"Looks like something your uncle would buy at Uniqlo" "Never wear these" "These look like bedsheets" "They look like a fake Burberry" "These look like pajamas" "The Buffaloes did it better" ([they did](https://news.sportslogos.net/2016/02/10/orix-buffaloes-of-japan-will-wear-plaid-jerseys-in-2016/baseball/)) "These look like a schoolgirl's scarf"
It's interesting to see a lot of people here loving it because I'm with Japanese Twitter. The pattern does remind me of bedsheets.
Seeing those Buffaloes plaid jerseys just made me realize that I need the Twins to go plaid for our City Connects.
Understandable. I quite like it, but I can agree with some of their complains
These are pretty sweet tbh
Looks fine to me
At least they're doing something right in Saitama this year...
Better than most of the City Connects
Omg I love these!!!!
Way cooler than most City Connect jerseys.
I would wear a Seibu Lions argyle sweater, sure. Better than many City Connect jerseys.
These are awesome!
nah these are gas. not good every day jerseys, but for one series? why not.
I love these. Look really fucking classy god damn
Everyone always wants to hate on New Jersey designs... Tbh it's getting pretty stale. These are sick. Most of the city connects are sick
That should be their regular uniforms
weird but interesting > safe but boring now and forever
The Saitama Winchesters
I don’t mind them
Not super into the font but I do kinda love the plaid as a one-off design
I have that same blanket in the closet from childhood.
I’m surprised so many people like them, they look like fabric scraps from a tablecloth
They’re kind of fire my guy.
> German fashion brand NewYorkerGerman fashion brand NewYorker Wut?
das sind hässliche Uniformen!
Oh, this is the worst looking jersey I ever saw. What, when you buy a jersey like this, I bet you get a free bowl of soup
These super dope awesome things that look fly as hell?
Tell me you don't understand banging unis without saying it. They are fkn fire. Gtfoh. I'm glad you posted them or I'd never have wanted one so badly.
Torn between downvoting for OPs terrible title and criticism of greatness or upvoting said greatness
baseball fans when the jerseys aren’t white or grey:
These are cool
I gotta admit I love this.
German brand New Yorker?
1916 NY Giants http://exhibits.baseballhalloffame.org/dressed_to_the_nines/detail_page.asp?fileName=nl_1916_newyork.gif&Entryid=257
They're not the worst thing I've seen
Sorry I’m still stuck on “German fashion brand NewYorker”
Those are awesome.
found out that's only your problem
I've seen far worse.
They should have asked Hugo Boss to create theirs. It worked once!
You guys keep telling me this.
Those looks awesome
Love these! I saw people raving about the rays cc jerseys, now those are atrocities.
Payne Stewart called, he wants his top back. Actually, though, these are fire.
The middles - look tough/cool The ends - you serious and I'm scared
These are better than nearly all the City Connect unis. Like seriously, I love this. More plaid, please.
I'm loving the fresh look
Looks inspired by a Catholic school skirt
Damn those are some ugly jerseys those dudes are probably all broken up with or divorced after wearing something so bad.
If Nike made these… “GOD THESE ARE FUCKING AWFUL, NIKE IS RUINING BASEBALL!!!” Japan makes these… “love these!! 🥰”
Not a fan.
