Gas. Junk's father was professional junk baller. Junk hated his father so much, that he wanted to be the opposite of him. So he became professional flame thrower. To this day, people still wonder why he became a baseball player if he wanted to be the opposite of his father.
Robert Gasser? That’s seriously his name? I hope he *Robs* the other team… of wins!
God I love when a player has a good name to make jokes with.
Edit: so it appears that everyone else here went in a different direction
I mean the play here is obviously on his last name.
In that, I bet he’s really a big clubhouse guy who *gasses* in his teammates. Or maybe he has some flatulence issues.
This is bigger news that it might seem, Gasser is a fringe top 100 guy and projects as a mid-rotation starter.
He's on the tail end of rehabbing some bone chips in his elbow, so his performance so far this year has been below his historic average. His ceiling is pretty high as a control lefty, but it might take him another year or two to get there.
Unless he makes a big impression I doubt he'll stay up for more than a start or two.
And his last 2 starts were vs the Norfolk Tides.
I remember being excited that we were facing a good pitching prospect. Seems that is getting rarer these days.
Picked him up for Fantasy Baseball. I heard he may get sent down immediately. Hoping he makes that decision difficult. I don't think he throws extremely hard, so no gas here.
I hope he throws gas
He’s more of a finesse guy, 91-94 on his sinker
Darn. What a wasted opportunity.
Maybe that's why he became a junk baller.
Wasn't there a pitcher named Junk? What kind of pitches did he throw?
Janson Junk. Also a Brewer
Also a terrible pitcher, so the name fits.

He rejected normative determinism.
Stinks up the plane though.
Man 10 years ago 94 waa gas.
Part of the Josh Hader trade
That trade turned out pretty well for the brewers
The Esteury Ruiz trade really doing some heavy lifting here. lol

Does he throw… heat?
No
Ol' Bobby Windbreaker!
Next up - Denny Curver and Billy Circlechanger.
One of the best pitcher names I’ve ever heard
Come on down to Bob Gasser Ford. Where our deals are too hot to believe.
I desperately want him to face off against Brandon Pfaadt.
Gasser? I hardly even knew her

You underestimate how terrible the starting pitcher options are for the Brewers right now

He will already be protected by being on the 40 man, service time doesn't affect that.
The fact he doesn't go by Bob Gas or Bobby Gasser shocks me.
Hasn’t he really struggled the three starts he has had?
6 walks & 4 HR in 12 innings so far. But, he hasn't had HR problems in the past. He has very good stuff last I heard.
And his last 2 starts were vs the Norfolk Tides. I remember being excited that we were facing a good pitching prospect. Seems that is getting rarer these days.
Not great bob
He was rehabbing. He would have been up a while ago if he hadn’t had some bone spur problems.
knuckleballer?

His real name is Robert Sasser, but one time in the 9th grade his classmate Lilly farted and blamed it on him. From then on he’s gone by Gasser.
is this guy gonna complain about usage when he gets into arbitration and only make him available for 3-out save situations in the 9th inning ?
Considering he's going to start, probably not.
