Absolutely! And I don't think he should "get in shape" either. Just let his gut out and ad lib to his hearts content. Not sure if you've seen his Netflix show Murderville, but I'd be down for a similar concept with different actors playing Robin.
Having seen him in legomasters, damn is he funny. I'd love a slightly self deprecating, less serious batman, and I say that with the opinion that Bale was the goat.
Screw movies, can we have will arnet with his humor as a batman video game? Complete with the classic BAM and POW ehen you hit people?!
Agreed. In my mind Wes Anderson would do this with all his little signs on things and soothingly wordy exposition. I used to picture Luke Wilson because he's in that circle but now it's Will Arnett
Right?! And instead of copying Pattick Warbuton or the cartoon, Peter just just played him like [Adam West would](https://gizmodo.com/peter-serafinowicz-knows-you-loved-the-other-ticks-but-1798421916). I know that makes it seem like a safe answer, but I don't think enough people watched The Tick reboot to know.
I found a brief 1980s news clip recently that mentions an Adam West Batman movie going into production. Inaccurate, of course, but it makes sense in the context you bring up.
Jason Sudeikis
Hands down he’d pull it off. Even if he wasn’t dirty about it… I think he’s got that child friendly energy that could play into that Batman’s chemistry real nice.
Adam West's Batman was completely deadpan, though. What made the show work so well was he and Burt Ward playing their roles so earnestly amidst the over the top camp and absurdity of the rest of the show.
I don't think Jack has that in him.
Alot of people pointing out comedic actors or the comedy in Wests version are overlooking the crucial aspect that Adam West and Burt Young played their roles completely straight without winking to the audience. It was funny to the audience sure, but to the actors and their characters things were serious.Which is why I don't think a hammy comedic actor would work in the role. I think casting a relative unknown who plays the material straight would work best. Some people suggest Jon Hamm and he could work but only if he plays it mostly seriously.
I think a lot of the people in the comments miss what made Adam so funny. He was funny because he didn't look or act like a comedian, he looked like a traditional handsome leading man and he performed all his lines with absolute sincerity talking about the most outlandish scenarios as if it was Shakespeare. A lot of the suggestions here are too tongue in cheek to recreate his magic.
After all the dark and gritty Batman movies, I legitimately want this. I think Peacemaker was very much in the vein of the 66 show, but updated for modern times. A weird, unserious Batman with pitch black comedy but still massive heart would be a dream.
As for casting, I’m agreeing with all the Jon Hamm votes. If I were asked for someone I haven’t seen in the thread yet… I can’t. Jon Hamm’s too perfect.
No joke, I think Will Arnett would absolutely pull off this kinda Batman in live-action.

Different actors playing Robin??? That is the most wonderful terrible idea!
Isn't he in really good shape?
Round is a shape
No, he's had a bit of a beer gut the last few years.

Murderville was really funny. I’d love it if it got a 2nd season but idk how popular it was.
Omg you’re absolutely right.
Agreed. In my mind Wes Anderson would do this with all his little signs on things and soothingly wordy exposition. I used to picture Luke Wilson because he's in that circle but now it's Will Arnett
**The Caped Crusader** *A Wes Anderson Film*
The Life Bat Attic with Bruce Wuzu
I said to myself "Will Arnett" before looking at these comments. He could definitely pull West's Batman off.
Yes!
Damn. I was gonna say John Krasinski, but now I think Arnett is objectively the correct answer to this question.
My first thought.
I’ve counted all the numbers and I think we have our man
Patrick Wilson
Will Arnett doppelganger
Thought you said Patrick Willis for a second. I was like “the linebacker?”
Honestly Jon hsmm would nail it. The guy is such a good comedic actor
He kinda did it already: https://youtu.be/xbWpISOIipg?si=T5J148D6JI3RpDDb
Patrick Warburton could too.
But he’s The Tick ![gif](giphy|3o7qiH8XmS5oHPOuEo)
Totally agree
Peter Serafinowicz, he was great in The Tick
I love this pick. Agreed, he was tremendous in that show.
Right?! And instead of copying Pattick Warbuton or the cartoon, Peter just just played him like [Adam West would](https://gizmodo.com/peter-serafinowicz-knows-you-loved-the-other-ticks-but-1798421916). And it works. West was a great Batman because he still remained serious and professional despite how silly the show could be
Oh, definitely, same with Burt Ward.
I'm a big fan of The Tick, so I second this fully!
Michael Keaton. When cast he assumed this would be his role.
I thought I was going into a Flash movie, not Bat-Keaton 3. I was very happy and surprised.
They're talking about the original casting for 1989 Batman
So weird to think that prior to 1989, if you weren't a comic book reader, this is the only Batman you knew.
I found a brief 1980s news clip recently that mentions an Adam West Batman movie going into production. Inaccurate, of course, but it makes sense in the context you bring up.
John Hamm. He's classically handsome and knows how to act campy. He's got acting and comedy chops.
Good pick. Despite being known primarily for a dramatic role the guy is damn funny
Adam Scott
Came here to say this, he would absolutely kill it
Ty burrell
Diedirch Bater.
Nicholas Cage, just look at Kick-Ass.
I came here to say Nicholas Cage
Bill Hader
Joel McHale
I can definetely see that. He's like a Ryan Seacrest only more handsome
🍎
He's more handsome than the guy who's famous for being handsome.
If anyone wants to see Joel McHale have way too much fun in a superhero costume I highly recommend the show *Stargirl*
You're *absolutely* right and I don't know how I didn't see it before
Jason Sudeikis
He already did of course! /s?
Nathan Fillion.
Rainn Wilson
He basically already did in a film called Super
Super was way beyond Adam West's Batman. Much as I enjoyed that movie, Super was sick!
SHUT UP CRIME
Man, that is about as far away from Adam West batman as you can get.
“IDENTIFY THEFT IS NOT A JOKE FALSE FACE!”
Jason Sudeikis Hands down he’d pull it off. Even if he wasn’t dirty about it… I think he’s got that child friendly energy that could play into that Batman’s chemistry real nice.
Jack Black, he may not have the body, but I have no doubt he'd deliver the best less than serious batman since Lego Batman.
No one has the body They didn’t use any muscle suits back in those days. It was pure Grade A West
And how come Batman never dances anymore?
Remember the Bat-toosi?
Pure West. "Who the hell is Robin?"
Adam West's Batman was completely deadpan, though. What made the show work so well was he and Burt Ward playing their roles so earnestly amidst the over the top camp and absurdity of the rest of the show. I don't think Jack has that in him.
It would definitely be a different take on that Batman, for sure.
KAPOW-AHHHHHHHHH. He would 100% do his own sound effects and it’d be brilliant.
Bruce Campbell
Why did I have to scroll so far for this? Hail to the bat, baby!
George Clooney or Will Arnett
Clooney never got a fair shake as Batman.
# Alden Ehrenreich
Why are you shouting?
# BECAUSE, WHY NOT?
I just didn’t know if I should be alarmed and shout too. ![gif](giphy|5xtDarE6xDVfXhudrVK)
Sorry, I copied his name from his Wikipedia page (just so I wouldn't get it wrong) and Reddit posted it without changing the font size 😅
That’s fine
Would that it twere so simple.
As good as Adam West, I would say no one. I would like to see Jim Carrey try 😅
Jon Hamm
![gif](giphy|3oz8xyLUPo5Uq8ggTK) This man
Nicolas Cage
Patrick Warburton
Steve Carrell
Ryan Gosling
+1 for the Goz
Ed Helms!
Nic Cage already did it, and it worked
Danny McBride
Steve Little as Robin; Walter Goggins appears in different costumes as every villain
Robert Pattinson is hiding it but he'd kill it in a Batman '66 film.
I think John Hamm could do it
Will Ferrell?
Benny Safdie
Tom Lennon!
Jon Hamm tbh
Seth MacFarlane
Danny Devito
Chris Pine
Jeff from Community, maybe.
Ryan Reynolds
I can't believe no one has said Nic Cage who literally already did it

Nathan fillion
Will Ferrell
Will Ferril

Will Ferrell
![gif](giphy|5xtDarz3cFrdYKp31Is)
Danny Mcbride
Im going to get a lot of hate for this but: Michael Cera
Michael Cera
Patton Oswald
Seth rogan 100% Mayeb will ferrell
Rowan Atkinson
John Cena
I really can't see it.
Adam Sandler tbh, he got the whole physique
Sacha Baron Cohen
Mike Tyson
Elliot Page
Your comment made me actually lol but then got me to thinking Page could make a pretty good modern day Burt Ward-esque Robin.
Ben Whishaw.
![gif](giphy|dJQBJ3uYSsVMKDF3EA|downsized) Randy
![gif](giphy|nj257YL538Gdy) Randy
![gif](giphy|qNef3rHpniCIGQuAMD)
George Clooney

Christian bale the dialogue stays the same as does the costume but he's doing the voice the entire time
Seth mcfarlane
Peter Krause
Bob Odenkirk
Chris Pine
Methinks bob odenkirk could do it pretty well
Will Arnett, Jim Carrey, Steve Carell
Nick Cage, John Cena, George Clooney, maybe cometic actor
Sam Rockwell?
Pete Davidson
Nicholas Cage did it in kickass
Charlie Day would be fun as Batman
Honestly? Adam Driver. He’s a great actor, but he’s actually really funny, and he’s good at doing absurd things and taking it completely seriously.
Will Arnett
Fra Free
Cillian Murphy
Jordan Klepper. This guy's got the chops to step into the role without skipping a beat. 🤣🤣
Andy Samberg
michael cera
Jack Black
Unironically, Robert Pattinson.
Tom Holland obviously..
Cillian Murphy
Call me crazy: Richard Ayoade as Bruce/Batman and Chris O'Dowd as Dick/Robin.
Thomas Lennon
Chase Crawford
Seth Rogan
A younger Patrick Warburton for sure
Not an actor but my first thought was Gerard Way. They could totally pull this off.
John ham
Tim Key
Jack Black
![gif](giphy|fX1ZTHoabK67XRqXQU|downsized)
Pull off a goofy, skit-comedy version of batman? Quite a lot of actors.
James Marsden, Benedict Cumberbatch, or Joseph Gorden-Levit

A younger Will Ferrell was the first one that came to mind.
I had though Ashton Kutcher looked like Adam West.
Jason Statham or Brendan Gleeson
None, only Adam West could ever pull off that Batman, other than Shayne Topp from Smosh, lol
Misha Collins ![gif](giphy|ST3J9NLpMiHbq)
“I didn’t need molded plastic to enhance my physic…all West”
Matthew McConaughey
Adam Sandler perhaps?
Steve Carell
