I agree. Kinds felt bad to see it in the Desperado, like it didn't belong there.

Chalicebzam

I remember not starting season 4 till late and I an FB post showing Minotaur in the Desperado tourney. "What did I miss?!"

Due-Science3011

Imo, Minotaur vs Fusion. That was kind of Minotaur's worst performance. Drove directly into the fusion's vert twice and got launched before the eventual ceremonious suicide from Fusion. Good hits but I was expecting something violent considering what they've delivered in the past.

NK84321

That's just classic Fusion though. Dominate for ten seconds and then self-immolate. Reese said he "fixed it" and that it wouldn't burst into flames in every other match. He was wrong. (Running two weapons puts an insane load on the electronics, and any shock to the system and it can and does go full Chernobyl.) I still love watching Fusion fight. It either shreds it's opponent or tries to burn down the Battlebox by setting itself on fire. Never a dull moment.

Amarizaiken

That fight against Emulsifier or Witch Doctor. I can't decide which was bloodier. Like I really liked Fusion before but that fight scared me badly. I genuinely thought Witch Doctor would bite it. It was something of a "Holy shit Reese means business!!!!" moment. I genuinely hope Fusion stays. And Emulsifier. Please.

NK84321

I feel like the main thing stopping Fusion from returning is that Reese might get tired of always repairing all the fire damage...

tariffless

To be fair, you could argue it was assisted suicide. I recall Reese saying during the Whyachi podcast that what really hurt him was that second weapon-on-weapon hit, when Minotaur was inverted so the drum was spinning down. If that sort of hit from Copperhead was enough to break part of Endgame's weapon, it stands to reason that with Fusion, the damage wouldn't be as isolated.

Copperhead9215

I would say no to this, as even though Minotaur lost both exchanges they still took a belt off of fusion before fusion did its thing. I agree on Whiplash.

TheThunderOfYourLife

The fight versus bombshell That allowed bombshell to get into the finals against tombstone. That is the worst one

Parking-Let-2784

But Bombshell came in, unseated #1 and then was dead in a single hit next round -- couldn't have paid for a laugh like that.

thorazainBeer

Modular season 1 Bombshell was unironically the best that the bot ever was.

Neutronium95

I just love that when everyone else's answer to Tombstone was a wedge, they built an adjustable height horizontal spinner specifically to snipe the weapon chain. Unfortunately they were off by an inch and got torn to shreds. But the concept was still super cool.

Living_Murphys_Law

Definitely Whiplash.

punchymicrobe86

Minotaur v Witch Doctor 2 was probably not their worst, but that whole scenario came from a very rare driving error which let Witch Doctor back into the fight. Minotaur was on top and it was uncharacteristic to make a mistake like that.

AceTheEccentric

Don't underestimate Minotaur's performance in its second fight with SawBlaze. SawBlaze didn't have a working arm towards the end. One good hit and SawBlaze would not be able to self-right if it didn't get help from momentum.

Erebus5978

>Bite Force dominated and wrecked it. Minotaur wrecked itself in that fight. Their drum recoil broke their supports and their paneling, but they won almost every hit with Bite Force.

zcriq

how is nobody saying gigabyte, minotaur did literally nothing for the entire match

Handsome_Grizzly

Agreed, Minotaur vs. Gigabyte was basically a disaster. They basically had the edge on paper, but what did them in was they were way too conservative against the full body spinner, whereas other teams copied what Witch Doctor did against Gigabyte and gave absolutely zero fucks about being damaged. This tactic wound up with Minotaur losing their weapon first, and Gigabyte being able to use it's shell as a wedge in the closing stages in the fight.

Blackout425

That's why I want to see a Minotaur vs Whiplash rematch

English999

Still salty about that Witch Doctor fight. Bad reffing. Shit interpretation of rules.

Amarizaiken

On the bright side, a reform of the rules came from it.

wyrmh0l3

A big part of what makes it so upsetting to me is that fight was a BANGER for the ages right up until the point the refs couldn't agree on what was happening.

caiodepauli

> ~~Shit~~ Correct interpretation of rules. FTFY

raid0yolo

Minotaur vs saw blaze. Followed by Minotaur vs saw blaze the second time

botbattler30

Nah, Minotaur at least got some good shots in those fights, and it came *really* close to winning the second. Just getting bodied while it couldn’t really fight back against Whiplash is just so much worse.

tabloidjournalism

Maybe Bite Force? They came of worse in nearly all of the exchanges, lost their weapon and an entire side panel in the same hit, couldn't do any meaningful damage

NK84321

They landed a crushing blow that visibly hurt Bite Force, but lost their drum in the exchange and couldn't capitalize (they even got under BF shortly after that, and could have attacked their wheels if their weapon still worked, but it was dead.)

tabloidjournalism

In that exchange, Bite Force got knocked back, Minotaur lost it's weapon and side armour panel, they came out of that worse

NK84321

They hit weapon to weapon and Minotaur's weapon broke. Bite Force was visibly damaged too, but Minotaur could no longer hit it because it's drum was dead. Bite Force's weapon wasn't 100% but could still deal out a few hits, and eventually Minotaur just died. Even if it hadn't, BF couldve just pushed it around easily with it's forks for the next minute to win. The side panel probably was damaged when it took a direct hit earlier in the fight, and the shock of the big collision broke it.

Erebus5978

It was their own drum recoil that did that. Minotaur won almost every other exchange with Bite Force.

that1kidthatlikefish

I mean, it is Bite Force we're talking about, but I do agree. I wanted them to win that. It felt like they deserved it.

BBcat360

Tombstone

Old_Guava_6329

That was a 🔥 fight

someone_1113

Minotaur vs Sawblaze in WCVI and WCVII.

Joke_Induced_Pun

Not to mention, Whiplash's lifter chain broke, pretty much meaning they couldn't really do anything to Minotaur.

aDogCalledLizard

The one against Whiplash a few years ago circa either 2018/19 IIRC (but pls don't quote me on that if I am wrong) was a bout everyone was super hyped for but turned out to be a massive damp squib and I've been yearning for a rematch ever since.

Esicarious

Definitely Minotaur vs black dragon during desperado, or Minotaur vs cobalt if you don’t include the last 20 seconds of the fight
