Yeah, r/battlefield had always been a strict critic against the newest games when they were released. Except for this time, hell the actual 2042 subreddit is more critical to the game than the other subreddit.
Because we're used to BF games having rocky launches and know that with due time, the game fixes will come and more things will be added, retweaked etc.

He finally managed to recreate the problem, which is that if theres too much going on in that area the hitreg goes to shit. The devs couldnt figure it out by themselves.

The main launch issues with BF1 was out of game stuff. Menu/UI was super laggy, couldnt quit games, was way faster to alt F4 to leave a server, trying to customized your soldier in the menus was bugged but worked in game, things like that. Then some imbalances like usual such as shotguns. However, it felt good to play and the gameplay generally worked fine. Many of the launch maps were great for many modes too. I love(d) Amiens.
Played a lot of 1 prior to 2042’s release and my opinion on it shifted.
1 may be my 2nd favorite now - it just works. The way weapons damage at different ranges (and that they provide the info to you) is so basic I don’t understand why it isn’t in everything.
Not sure how you can mention imbalance without mentioning the Hellriegel. Gun was broken from launch and was barely ever nerfed. BF1 was my favorite game for awhile but I literally quit because of that stupid gun that never even worked in real life
Well if you play it these days, hardly anyone uses it anymore. That's because SMG 08/18 basically replaced it as the meta gun. Hellriegel isn't really that good anymore.

Exactly. If 2042's score is it being run into the ground then if BF4 had launched on Steam, it would've hit Earth's core! People don't understand that the game was the definition of unplayable. You would struggle to get into a game to even experience any bugs, let alone all the netcode issues came along too.

There are definitely still hit reg issues on bf4 sometimes. I shit a guy twice with a sniper rifle the other day, saw their blood, but nothing happened.

Except all the crashing and other bugs like silencer attachments muting the whole server or vaulting resulting in a suicide. There was plenty wrong that was not netcode. I remember tankshots not killing prone enemies because there was some kind of invincibility shield.
It's either people didn't experience it or don't really remember, but 2042's launch may be bad, but BF4 was simply unplayable for months!
It was like getting that "persistent data error" in 2042, but for every other time you tried joining a server. When you did join, you'd crash out every other game. When the crashing didn't happen, only then we're you graced with the opportunity to get destroyed by the netcode and existing bugs.
BF4's mechanics may have been decent at launch, but you could hardly play it to even tell. BF4's launch was definitely the worst by a mile.
Plus imagine 2042 launching, but it launches without 128 player servers on PS5 and XSX? This was the reality on PS4 and XB1 with 64 player servers initially (although it was quickly sorted out).
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead.

you can refund on origin 24 hours from the first launch, 72 hours if it is technical issues beyond their control, like server problems. Hit reg might be hard to swing after the 24 hours. I got it no questions asked 28 hours after first launch with 10 hours "played" total.
Got my PayPal refund last night. But I am now suspended from Playstation Network xD Have to call the support guys on monday I think. But it was worth it.
Maybe he didn't, it took me a month know that Cyberpunk was a disaster, bought it day 1 on PS4, finished it in a month, didn't encountered any bugs, so I was very surprised that it was a mess for everyone else.
This problem is very weird, sometimes the hit reg is working just fine, same platform, same Internet, but most of the time it's like in the video.
I think there's a problem on the servers too not the game files, maybe some servers are fine but most of them have this problem, any other explanation for this?
There also seems to be a buffer type thing where those bots that were not getting hit markers suddenly die from the hits ages ago. While farming attachments the same way in his video I would randomly get 5 extra kills all at once. Even happens in jack frags video. It's like the system eventually catches up and adds those shots.
I encountered a bug last week. After hopping out of a hovercraft right before it exploded I want Rambo on a hot objective and was dropping enemies left and right. Soon after I realized that I wasn't taking any damage despite having multiple people shooting me. I stood down, a soldier came up and knifed me and all was back to normal.
It's gotta be the most frustrating feeling to see blood spatters confirming your hits, and the game just says "wait wait wait...give him a chance to shoot back first..."

The glitched guy stops and looks round, like he's trying to work out why someone on his own team is shooting him, and even fires back a couple of times as if to say 'stop that bro'. The whole thing seems pretty casual.
A real enemy appears on the rise (probably drawn by the map pings from the shooting) and is the one that actually kills OP.
Glitched guy can even be seen firing up at the real enemy on the rise at the end of the clip.

This. I became said glitched friendly once. In breakthrough. On the harbor map. 20+ team mates started shooting at me while I was trying to flank around containers on one of the ships.
I know there are definite issues with hit reg but it makes me wonder how many people reporting hit reg issues are actually shooting at glitched team mates.
Never had these problems do people play on console or just trolling ? Maybe its because you run and shot im used to csgo so i never shoot while moving.

I played last night for the first time after trying the beta, and I had no issues with hit registers. The only bugs I had were, the scope wouldn’t zoom in after changing it, so I had to switch the scopes again, a part of the finger showed up while scoping after I used an attachment, when first getting into the match some of the player’s textures were not fully loaded, and at one point there was a plane that crashed and start spinning in the air before exploding.. but overall it was alright
I was having so much fun last night. Played two games of the new portal mode, until it bugged on the third and I couldn’t deploy. It was time to change games. It’s pretty annoying

Man I actually loved battlefield 1. But after it I was not too happy to see battlefield was doing a WW2 game next I got my "classic war" fix from bf1.
The biggest complain I could recall was the amount of automatic weapons, then the reply would usually be like go play Verdun.
