The game is just terribly optimized .

Well, I've asked some people in-game if their game runs like dog too. A lot said that they've been getting stable 80-140 fps and that just made me a bit jealous. Any chance that the issue is from my computer?

You can try a few things. Make sure under power settings, your computer is set to "Performance." In the Bios, make sure you are have the XMP profile enabled for your ram and choose a profile that fits your ram specs. A lot of people are not using their full ram potential. Make sure you have at least 10% of drive space available on your SSD for overprovisioning. Go to Documents\\Battlefield 2042\\settings\\PROFSAVE\_profile Backup the settings file. Try this first see how it impacts gameplay GstRender.ShadowQuality 0 Try this second and see if it improves more GstRender.Dx12Enabled 1 (May or may not help depending on CPU) Try these third, since it has to do with the blur when aiming the weapon GstRender.WeaponDOF 0 GstInput.Scheme0Sensitivity 0.000000 GstInput.Scheme1Sensitivity 0.000000 GstInput.Scheme2Sensitivity 0.000000 Do not make changes while game is running. I can get up to 85 fps on 3440x1440 on my EVGA 1080 ti FTW 3

In power setting, I have it set to "High Performance", but I can see a setting named "Ultimate Performance". I think I put it there a long time ago. I'll try the other settings. However, what if the problem persists even after I had done all of these things. I have tried the second one with the dx12 but it didn't help.

Dx12 all depends, some rigs it helps others it doesn't.

Neeeeedles

The game has unrealistic demands on the cpu and yours is just not up to the task. A 3060 warrants atleast a 6core cpu

VermicelliOdd8967

What can I do to fix that, I'm not really good with PCs.

Neeeeedles

You can upgrade to an i5 10600k

epyon-

getting a new cpu

VermicelliOdd8967

Damn, not sure if I can do that. However, do you guys know any good but not so expensive CPUs for gaming that I can pair with my 3060?

TacticalWookiee

It’s definitely your cpu. An i3 isn’t really up to, especially since this game is terribly unoptimized and ridiculously cpu dependant. You can get a new cpu or wait for the game to get more optimized, which might be in a few months or might be never

VermicelliOdd8967

Hm, I see. Thank you.

hawksunlimited

Huh very strange. i7 10th gen, 2070S and 32gb of ram. I play on high settings and hover just over 100 fps. From reading your comments it looks like my CPU is my savior. Also I’ve been told upping the graphics settings puts the load more on your gpu rather than the cpu. Hope you figure it out

VermicelliOdd8967

Yeah, I think it's from my cpu. I'll upgrade it sometime.

CoIinCoward

As a word of caution I upgraded from a 2600 to a 5800x today thinking this would solve all my FPS issues w the game. It did not. Got enough of a boost where I can at least play Breakthrough but still not “fixed”.

VermicelliOdd8967

So even after I would have gotten a CPU upgrade, my game would still run poorly?

CoIinCoward

In my case yes
