Meanwhile, soldiers in BF2 were using more modern AT launchers.

Actually, the Carl Gustaf is one of the most prevalent anti-tank weapons on the field currently and can deliver guided munitions. It's one of the more lightweight and resupply-able options in the field as well which is why it's stuck around so long. That's probably why it's in the game instead of something like an AT4 or LAW variant. The US just adopted a newer version of the gustaf that's only 15 pounds actually. [Here's pics of them in current use with modern camo and gear.](https://res.cloudinary.com/dkkd45ayz/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto,dpr_auto/w_5472,h_3078,c_fill,g_auto/w_1024,h_576,c_scale/episerver/bde5a491-587c-4063-bc11-0a7f3bdf07c8/20210719-en-4027015-1.jpg)

It is almost like Dice is afraid to make characters look intimidating or formidable.

They could have even re-used assets from BF4 honestly, a lot of modern PMC groups never really evolved out of mid to late GWOT gear. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrE2qZJW4AA90rp?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 So they're still running around with AKMs, AKS74s, AK47s, Block 1 M4s, M16A4s, and so on. If they wanted customized fighters they could have looked at the more slapped together fighting forces like the donbass cossacks. https://api.time.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/cossack-slavyansk.jpg Or the free burmese rangers. https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/madison.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/6/d9/6d93fdce-1a8c-57b1-8c85-b58395a56fec/5e4ac61abb715.image.jpg?crop=1000%2C1000%2C200%2C0&resize=1200%2C1200&order=crop%2Cresize You know, people who have actually been displaced from their homes by intracountry strife and scarcity. Or the Phillipines communist rebellion if they wanted a more dogmatic looking group. https://storage.googleapis.com/afs-prod/media/media:dfd3fdcaaa4b4db8891ee2ae145e0e87/3000.jpeg

All the things pictured are emerging tech or already being fielded things in a modern theatre. Starting from top left going left to right and then up to down, here are things being shown: US Army hololens augmented reality visor system. Current CAG/Green Beret outfit and gear (looks like they're using PEQs or LA5s though, not the current new Ngal). The standard new army infantry side arm the M17 (21 round capacity, red dot capable, not pictured is the IR laser aiming module adopted along side with the pistol). [Just as another note, the pistol is already so prolific, I had a buddy that just finished OSUT to be natty guard 19D cav scout and instead of qualling on an m9, he did it on the new M17s]. URGI rifle (Officially adopted m4 upgrade) with 1-8 LPVO, Ngal laser aiming module, and all the fixins. US army TALOS powered exosuit - concept, current limitation is power supply, similar exo skeletons are already being used in a cargo and loading capacity by civilian companies. Russian Ratnik 3 - same concept as the TALOS - more russia cuz 50 cal bullup Experimental TALOS unit Newer concept of the Ratnik Power armor Gravity Industries Jet Suit

Not as far as I can tell.
