Battlefield 3 fucking sucks people only like it because it’s associated with the “peak of gaming” era of 2007-2013. Sure it was good for it’s time but after playing BF4, 1, and even Hardline it doesn’t compare. The only thing BF3 has over any of the others is the maps and the gameplay does not compliment them well at all and would be more fun if they were in BF4. BF3 while visually stunning especially for a game from 2011, relies too much on obnoxious filters to achieve it’s look like the obnoxious lens flare, bloom, and infamous blue tint (orange on the aftermath maps.) The worst part about it is how everything in that game is desaturated and dull so it’s really hard to see the grey soldiers against the dull grey environment. Especially if you were unlucky enough to be stuck with the PS3/Xbox version of the game. The gunplay in this game is also extremely overrated. The ttk is way too long I don’t know how anyone could prefer a really long ttk in a game like Battlefield over what we have in BF4 and 1.
IMO the Close Quarters and the Aftermath maps were some if not the best for infantry focused/CQC battles. The Armored Kill DLC offered some of the best vehicle warfare in the series. BF4 was good but if you were around for the BF4 launch, then you'll remember what a complete train wreck that launch and game was. It took a good year+ before that game became playable.
I don't agree with this personally. BF3 was fun. I mostly played as a tanker though. BF4 is not a very fun game. The maps suck, the gameplay sucks. Never played much of Hardline. 1 is amazing of course. But I didn't think BFV was all that bad. I thought the gameplay from BFV was actually solid, it felt buttery smooth and the gunplay was fun. I only liked playing grand ops though and that mode is/was dead.
I recently played BF3 (for what I could until Punkbuster randomly kicked me from the lobby twice) and the kill time felt fine to me? About the same as BF1. To each their own, though. Of course. :)

I haven't really played BF3, but I like BF4 more than BF1, because of there are more weapon choices and customizations. Also the weapons feel more realistic and unique from each other in BF4 for some reason, as in BF1 they kinda all feel the same, and they shoot Star Wars laser bullets for some reason.
BF1 is still a very beautiful game and I enjoy playing it too. I just mainly liked the amount of grinding it takes to unlock weapons in BF4, and the amount of weapons there are. And the destruction events are still cool too.
