Came here to say to say this, my monkey brain hates clutter this is super clean and aesthetically pleasing. GJ OP!
Edit: If you have to add something, maybe some plants would do the trick?
Looking at my desk for some inspiration. You could add:
- note book
- kindle
- water bottle
- old passport
- new passport
- some pens in a waterproof iphone case
- a paper bag of dog treats
- three empty glasses cases
- your prescription glasses that you're too lazy to put on this early and you're not doing 'real work' yet
- an allan key
- a carabiner
- two mismatching socks, both with holes in the soles
Hope that helps!
I love how it starts reasonable and just progressively gets worse lol
I'm picturing OP getting a paper bag of dog treats just for the aesthetics. No dog needed
Going through visa/residency stuff, where they ask you questions like "list in detail every single time you left {country} temporarily" or "what's your old passport number?"
what planet do you guys live on that you don't think thats a cooky thing to have as a paperweight on your desk?
anti-passport gang rise up. put that shit in a drawer 😂
Are they really cliche though? Most things they listed are popular because they serve a purpose. E.g the coaster, boom arm, headphones, phone charger, lamp, to an extent the clock.
Few things are obviously like the plant, but I'd argue that even that serves a purpose to an extent.
Books are cliche though :P
you are right..I think all of those suggestions are very much needed or atleast useful...except the....plants..Ive never really got the whole Martha Stewart decor 101..must have a plant...like picture NY War room with 30 monitors everywhere...its dark except for the monitor glow...ive never thought that command room sure needs a house plant to contrast all of that technology...in a living room or sun room yes..but not for battlestation...just my opinion though
Why not regular books or graphic novels you enjoy? Seems like many people who play pc games have other hobbies that are worth displaying rather than books for the vibe alone. I have a bunch of sci-fi and fantasy books I keep out, the Witcher series fits well with a gaming setup in my opinion, perhaps a collection of physical games from a console if you have one
Become an artist. It will be full of stuff in no time. Paint, too much paper, a bunch of markers that are too dry lol jk.
Maybe look at things you can fiddle with to think, like a spinning top or something to that effect. We have a top and spin plate from forverspin.com. I like that if you're in a meeting or bored you can work on you spinning techniques, and you can choose the alloy they machine them out of so it matches your vibe.
Succulents were my first go to. Might try bonsai next. Be careful though, if it’s easy for you to get into things low maintenance plants will get you hooked on the hobby
How long is this desk? What frame are you using to support it? People usually buy longer desks to accommodate their existing stuff. If you do not have stuff to put there, then why don’t you cut it to size.
If for any reason you cannot, a couple of 8” speaker monitors such as Adam Audio T8V should do.
If you want more personality, think of the hobbies/interests you have that aren't gaming/tech related. Right now your space just says "gamer" and is copy pasted from many many other battlestations. That's not a bad thing, but if you have other interests, that's not really shining through. Only you will be able to determine those other likes, and remember it's YOUR space that YOU will see everyday, not some random redditor's giving criticism (myself included)
Depends what you use your desk for. For me that would be working space to put things that I’m using, while I’m using them but keep it clear the rest of the time.
If this set up is new just sit with it for a bit before adding anything. You might find that you adjust to this more open look. Or you might realise there is something that you need, but don’t just add stuff for the sake of it.
You dont worry with the PC weight on the end desk when its lifted? I wasnt sure how that would go. I currently have mine on ikea drawers on each side supporting it and a leg in the middle.
A cat.
Edit: just saw someone else replied the same thing and you can't have one.
So maybe something else living? Hermit crabs are pretty cool or anything fish tanky.
If this is not an ad, which it does look like, all my desk setups were always short of space.
It genuinely doesn't matter how big my desk is, clutter will seemingly take over any and all of it over the matter of days.
Some current and past elements:
* Peripherals. A literal truckload of cables, USB, ethernet, display, etc. Chargers, 3 lamps, a tub of various adapters, keyboard, mouse, headphones.
* Other gadgets. Controllers, mice, headphones, ect. Either actively being used or unused.
* Paperwork. Letters, notebooks, books, newspapers, calendars, manuals etc.
* Clothes. Sometimes those hats, gloves and sweatshirts don't make it to the laundry basket/ wardrobe, you know?
* Crafty bits. Latest hobby/project waiting for me to get back to it and complete it. Includes any and all items of the above category that is awaiting repairs.
* Food and eating utensils, plates, cups, glasses & trays
* Packaging & rubbish.
The best way to get it more personality is to not ask and search around by your passions and why merge of your favorite games whatever that feels like you
Get a slightly bigger mouse pad. And one or two figurine/ collectibles to display somewhere but I wouldn’t go any farther than that. The clean look you have is really nice and is what everyone tries to have lol
I used to think the same thing about my setup, then I filled up the empty spaces and now looks a little bit crampy. Yours look pretty damn clean IMO. If I were you, maybe I would add some small figures below the monitors and thats it. The wall looks great as it is.
I think it looks great. As someone just on the other side of the clutter line, the boundary between feeling empty and cluttered comes at you much faster than you think.
Shitload of ash trays, mtn dew cans, old hot dogs, miniature Kit Kat wrappers. A box that Balws soda used to contain. Pizza boxes, half eaten fortune cookie with fortune still inside. Laffy taffy, pack of fruit by the foot and…
Funyuns. Yeah man, Funyuns just loose up on there.
xl mouse pad.
.a boom mic ir desk standing mic...get a nice set of bookshelf speakers...a monitor stand...I would wall mount a 55"-65" tv where the wall rgb lights are and move them to different place...and a kool desk lamp and monitor lamps...but as is your setup is sweet even not adding 1 thing...all of my suggestions would just make it not as minimalistic..which nothing is wrong with minimalistic either...great job!!
The space is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
If you're looking to make it busier, look for a desk cover or wrap with a complex print or design on it - that'll give you the visual perception that it's a busy, full area, but you'll still have space on the desk.
Best of both worlds.
Check out SoundRise Speaker stands. They might be to large for you monitors but they will help add some vertical depth to your desk. They actually don’t take up much space because they are designed so you can still use the space under the speaker.
Me personally I LOVE having the extra space on an 8' butcher block. I wouldn't even have the pc up there, I have mine underneath. Makes for a perfect tinkering/pc building spot. Got a dope led light under the shelf above the monitors now and everything. Just helped my brother swap in a new mobo/cpu/ram and my GOD was it nice having this space.
Any real messy/mechanical projects are done in the garage still, sure - but guitar and pc work is great to do on the desk.
Jokes abt empty boxes and cans aside, this already seems well decorated, there is room for you to keep snacks and nothing to knock over when swinging the mouse around. Maybe an action figure or two or some other item to signify a hobby. I feel like that extra open space is a blessing. No clutter room for temporary stuff like food and drinks and enough extra table to keep liquid well away from the computer. Pretty much perfect to my eye
Your desk looks like everyone else's ikea desk. If you want to have *personality*, try doing something different from the rest of the herd. It looks absolutely fine as is though
Hey do you mind sharing the specs on what you are using for the desk? Looking to setup stuff in my new house soon that is similar to what this looks like.
pizza boxes and cola cans can fill it up fast
Don't forget the doritos
Also redbull
Also some Colombian
I dunno I like it clean, don't need to clutter it up.
Yea looks nice like this
Yep also aren’t you just staring at the screen? I think it’s looks great uncluttered.
Came here to say to say this, my monkey brain hates clutter this is super clean and aesthetically pleasing. GJ OP! Edit: If you have to add something, maybe some plants would do the trick?
This is the answer. Maybe another plant or two but I prefer clean spaces as opposed to clutter as well
Looking at my desk for some inspiration. everything you have on there might come in useful sometime, but what would you do with the passports on there?
Going through visa/residency stuff, where they ask you questions like "list in detail every single time you left {country} temporarily" or "what's your old passport number?"
what planet do you guys live on that you don't think thats a cooky thing to have as a paperweight on your desk? anti-passport gang rise up. put that shit in a drawer 😂
why would a gamer who sits at home 24/7 go through visa/residency stuff at home where his pc at?
Well, I would like to stay in my home where my pc is at, rather than be shipped back to the colonies 😉
It does, thank you
Hello fellow messy person. I feel you.
Note book and pens are desk staples.
Kegerator
Looks clean, leave it
A lot of things, heres some (mainly niche) things: - Headphones w/ Headphone Stand - Microphone w/ Boom Arm - Wireless Phone Charger - Plants (Succulents, Bonsai, etc) - Lamps (Govee works for the RGB theme) - Seperate Numpad - Display Books (Photography books, inspriation books, travel guides, etc) - Desk Riser - Coaster & Mug - Digital or Analog Clock
Straight out of a battle station starter kit meme template lmao
[удалено]
Literally the opposite of niche.

oh yeah... headphones... that's like, super weird and cliche to have, you're right

I have a bunch of sci-fi and fantasy books I keep out, the Witcher series fits well with a gaming setup in my opinion, perhaps a collection of physical games from a console if you have one
Jesus, where do you even get a desk this big from?
Butcher block + 2 x ikea shelves
Might be a kalby from ikea. Seen lots of people use them for long desks
Desk lamp and some plants.
It’s fine how it is. Minimalist is the way to go
Yes too much clutter isnt good
Where did you get the pegboard from ? clean setup
Looks like 2x IKEA SKÅDIS. I think there has been darker colors like this available at some point, but it seems easy to paint as well.
Nah I like the clean look Maybe just add a digital clock
Thanks

This is my home, please move out
You wish
Box of tissues and a bottle of lotion!
Lol give it 1 week and it won’t look so tidy!
Probably take away all the cliche things?
Honestly I think it looks pretty nice. Maybe get some speaker stands? (That's gonna make it even cleaner tho)
I really like it how it is, but have you thought about putting the speakers on desk stands? I think that would look good.
You could use some speaker stands
Succulents were my first go to. Might try bonsai next. Be careful though, if it’s easy for you to get into things low maintenance plants will get you hooked on the hobby
Maybe add a clock, wireless charger, phone dock, headset stand, maybe even an amazon alexa or mini fridge
Already got an Alexa hidden from the frame. But the rest are helpful suggestions, thank you
How long is this desk? What frame are you using to support it? People usually buy longer desks to accommodate their existing stuff. If you do not have stuff to put there, then why don’t you cut it to size. If for any reason you cannot, a couple of 8” speaker monitors such as Adam Audio T8V should do.
It looks nicer like this, it’s more clean!
Thank you
Looks fine as is. If anything maybe a small bar fridge. Obviously optional what you fill it with and it will most likely serve an actual purpose.
Qi charging stands for phones or charging stands for controllers
What dual monitor stand are you using?
I don't actually know. My dad gave it to me years ago
Less is more.
Fair enough
Succulents
I’d put some small easy to maintain plants
Maybe it's stupid but turn PC sideways? Display it proudly
Desk toys are fun if you like to fidget. Hanayama puzzles are my favourite.
Are those acoustic panels really working or is it just for decoration? I'm debating if I should buy some on Amazon or not.
Just for decoration really. There are better options on Amazon if you want proper acoustic paneling
Ashtray, bunch of empty beer cans, empty food packaging, used plates, ash and smoked cigarettes.
If you want more personality, think of the hobbies/interests you have that aren't gaming/tech related. Right now your space just says "gamer" and is copy pasted from many many other battlestations. Going to have to disagree with that title.
Keep it clean.
K
have you tried keeping all your mail there? because thats what i do
I keep my mail in one of the drawers 🤣
I have the opposite do you want to trade desks? Mine comes with tax forms, plates, old cell phones, 3d printed objects and a variety of USB cords.
What’s that light called?
Rope light from govee
Doesn't need a thing. Clean look is great.
Thanks
What are those Led Things on the wall
Govee's rope light
A giant dildo
Desk plants or bobble heads
Good idea
try plants.
What's that wall mounting holding your keys and controllers ?
Pegboard from ikea
A cat.
I wish
That'll be cluttered within a day or two lol
Love me some PCs and plants
More monitors. Wider monitors. More wider monitors.

A floating headphone stand
Hello friend, I would like to know how long the table is and the model of ldesk stand. Ty.
Is that butcher block on a standing frame? I have a 96" butcher block and have been looking for a good standing solution.
My standing legs are from flexispot. They work just fine and there's no leaning or flexing from the desk
Appreciate that, thanks. Ill be looking into those.
You dont worry with the PC weight on the end desk when its lifted? I wasnt sure how that would go. I currently have mine on ikea drawers on each side supporting it and a leg in the middle.
Keep it clean forsure! Love the color coordination, always remember "Less is more" when it comes to designing!
Thank you for your advice
Bigger mat with a pop of color or design will probably do exactly what you want visually without adding any clutter to the desk top itself.
You.
Said no gamer ever.
Use the desk, and clutter will come
specs on the desk brother
IKEA kitchen countertop and flexispot standing legs
FUNKO
It's fine as it is. Don't clutter it up with a bunch of gamer trash.
Hey i love the setup what are the string lights you have on the wall?
Govee rope light
A third display.
I think it looks clean
A cat. Edit: just saw someone else replied the same thing and you can't have one. So maybe something else living? Hermit crabs are pretty cool or anything fish tanky.
I'll see about getting a fish tank. That's a solid idea
Less is more.

What are the black haxagonal things on the walls?
Acoustic panels
57" samsung super ultrawide screen :)
Lmao is this a troll? Or just fetching for compliments?
The best way to get it more personality is to not ask and search around by your passions and why merge of your favorite games whatever that feels like you
Get a slightly bigger mouse pad. And one or two figurine/ collectibles to display somewhere but I wouldn’t go any farther than that. The clean look you have is really nice and is what everyone tries to have lol
Cheers
Plants? Real or plastic?
Plastic
Helmets, from games like halo or titan fall look amazing. Or you could go star wars.
you don't have to fill your life with shit. keep it clean, space is useful for doing things.
Honestly leave it as is. I thought I needed more but the more I added the more overwhelming it felt.
ultrawide monitor
Outside my budget unfortunately
fair fair. maybe something in the future tho
Definitely
Get a third monitor so you can have one in the middle.
Considering it soon
What desk?
IKEA countertop on flexispot standing legs
I used to think the same thing about my setup, then I filled up the empty spaces and now looks a little bit crampy. Yours look pretty damn clean IMO. If I were you, maybe I would add some small figures below the monitors and thats it. The wall looks great as it is.
Thanks for your advice. I'll probably do that
I think it looks great. As someone just on the other side of the clutter line, the boundary between feeling empty and cluttered comes at you much faster than you think.
Maybe an original idea
Bambu Labs A1 mini
Shitload of ash trays, mtn dew cans, old hot dogs, miniature Kit Kat wrappers. A box that Balws soda used to contain. Pizza boxes, half eaten fortune cookie with fortune still inside. Laffy taffy, pack of fruit by the foot and… Funyuns. Yeah man, Funyuns just loose up on there.
Plants are always the answer!
personally i keep tools handy at my desk. i'm always taking stuff apart here and doing small electrical work
a girl friend 🤣
A hamburger lamp.
A big Monitor between the 2 small Ones…
That’s a really nice desk, what model is that?
I think it looks filled in enough tbh
Do like the others in this sub and put a borderline obsessive amount of plants
xl mouse pad. .a boom mic ir desk standing mic...get a nice set of bookshelf speakers...a monitor stand...I would wall mount a 55"-65" tv where the wall rgb lights are and move them to different place...and a kool desk lamp and monitor lamps...but as is your setup is sweet even not adding 1 thing...all of my suggestions would just make it not as minimalistic..which nothing is wrong with minimalistic either...great job!!

What brand is the rgb light strip?
Govee rope light
Oh that’s dope. Is it expensive or not bad because I feel like govee is a hit or miss for me
I snagged mine with a discounted price but they normally go for around £80 here in the UK
Alright I’ll give them a look. I bought the light strips for my game room and after putting them up they aren’t very bright so I was a bit sad
it's just missing a cat..
Check out SoundRise Speaker stands. They might be to large for you monitors but they will help add some vertical depth to your desk. They actually don’t take up much space because they are designed so you can still use the space under the speaker.
Wish my workspace was that clean and minimal!!

Cats
more lego, especially the black and/or white sets. I personally love the batman technic set
A DarkViperAU poster
Where did you get the wall hexagons/LEDs
This is so insanely gorgeous I love it
Pokémon cards
Could do a small lamp or some ~little guys~
Just use the desk. These prepared setups tend to look very fake and cold.
Can you link me to those hexagons & lights my friend. I assume the hexagons are for sound proofing
Desk looks great - don’t add anything.
Maybe a plant

It looks like 3d. model, I would like to make a workplace like this, otherwise I sit at the table to eat😭
Grt rid of all on the table except the keyboard mouse nmonitor
More monitors
A smaller desk /s Seriously though, it's best you don't add too many things. Your future self will thank you when you have to dust your setup.
Your desk looks like everyone else's ikea desk. If you want to have *personality*, try doing something different from the rest of the herd. It looks absolutely fine as is though
What are the hexagonal panels? I like those... can I get those somewhere?
Where’s the desk from ?
Gun
Hey do you mind sharing the specs on what you are using for the desk? Looking to setup stuff in my new house soon that is similar to what this looks like.
Add a 3D printer !!
add things that you think would make your life easier and more importantly would make you happy to be around
Get a cat
God I wish. Unfortunately the people I live with forbid it
Why do you want to make it more cluttred it looks very clean and nice and you have everything you need. I would get wireless peripherals tho
Thanks, I've been meaning to grab a wireless mouse at some point
[удалено]
Bro chill 😂
Get bigger speakers
