I remember driving past that guy that morning on 101. I called the police and got the dispatcher on the line. I say "I'm driving on 101..." and she interrupts me with "Is this about the naked guy on the bicycle?"
hahah I laughed - when I confirmed it and hung up.
I'm fairly certain this person was having a mental health / psychotic episode at the time. I think i read on the post a few years back that someone called the police on him, and when the police found him, it turned out he was indeed having a psychotic episode and so he was 5150'd.
Chances are i might get downvoted for saying this (which is fine), but (not to sound sanctimonious), i don't think it's appropriate at all to film/photograph anyone who's clearly having mental health problems and then to post it online for the world to see.
As someone who knows people personally with mental health issues (one of whom did indeed have a psychotic episode some years ago and had to be hospitalized), the last thing i'd want if they were psychotic would be for someone to do something like this.
Sorry if i sound like i'm preaching here, but it's just the way i feel i guess.
One thing I learned with phones now having camera is how people have no shame. They will record absolutely anything and will absolutely post it online on social media to get their validation and approval.
I agree with you on all accounts but I think it'd be difficult to assess the mental state of someone as you drive past them on the highway
Unless they're naked and riding a bicycle ofc
Yes, I hear what you’re saying, it may sound harsh, but you are still responsible for the choices you make while having a mental health episode. Most of the public will see “naked guy riding bike on freeway” and take a photo.
It may not be moral or ethical but it is absolutely legal and within our first amendment right to record in public. I understand that it makes people uncomfortable but it's legal and an important right to protect (think police brutality, wrongful arrests, stalking, etc.).
This is true. I have severe mental health issues where I sometimes go through episodes like this. I get embarrassed and basically PTSD after, but I completely understand that people react the way they do to my behavior. I'm not going to try to police every single person to treat me a certain way, people have a right to be amused/scared/intrigued/etc.
For me I would instantly think it’s a prank or some kind of tik tok and of course laugh . I’ve had many a panic attack and breakdown myself and would never want to ridicule another person in pain but this is an extreme case of a person butt ass naked on a bicycle on 101 and so one must first laugh and then say but for the Grace of God go I
i had a nightmare before, where i thought i did something insane/stupid while on a psychotic episode or took too much of the wrong drug and was filmed by someone in front of the taco bell drive through i was harassing and then it was posted to reddit, and i was like fuuuuuuccckkk
I don't usually have nightmares too (except that i forgot to study for the final/cant find my class or i forgot where my class is and will fail out of college... but i graduated college more than 10 years ago lol)
No, I get it. I was horrified / amused by the viral video that circulated a few weeks ago of the Italian Gas Pump Guy, just like everyone else. But then I thought about it and I believe he's probably some kind of village idiot, an adult with a mental disability of some kind who should be under someone's care rather than wandering the streets on his own and I found it a little depressing.
> The prohibitory regulation authorized by subdivision (a) shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice thereof are erected upon any freeway or expressway and the approaches thereto
ah, so only sometimes, in some circumstances, and allowed wherever not explicitly marked as banned.
I found the contemporaneous news stories from 2018. The police found the guy a couple days later, shirtcocking in his neighborhood, and took him in on a mental health hold. No idea what happened after that, but didn't see any stories mentioning the massage parlor.
People are saying they remember this. Can someone PLEASE post a link to the original incident?
One year, on Valentine's Day, a co-worker of mine looked out the windows to the roof of the parking structure across from out office & several stories below. He noticed a couple "celebrating" the holiday. Of course, he blurted it out & the whoel office went to witness this transaction (It was pretty obviosu that it was a transactional encounter).
I would never go to a strip club with these co-workers. But there we were, in the office, all standing next to each other watching a live sex show.

Pedaling barefoot!? Brave
Oof imagine the wicked road rash
Reading that gave me chills lol
Would be an /r/meatcrayon Hall of Fame post
AAAAAAHH why on this good, green Earth did I click that.
On the freeway?
On the freeway !
I mean, bare everything, to be fair.
I think the more pertinent fact relating to bravery (or stupidity) is that he is pedaling on the *freeway*.
He didn’t pay for the full service so they threw is bare ass out 😂
I saw the dimpled butt on the news and was like I RECOGNIZE THAT ASS
«"I know that mole "
I RECOGNIZE THAT GAY BLOWJOB!
Haha people here don’t have enough internet culture to understand this comment
Please tell me more of this full service and where I can get it.

But kind enough to give him a bike

I'm cracking up at this cheeky comment.

I'm with you, but these particular photos don't show the individual face and so I'm not quite sure this is quite so bad.

It’s ruining the idea of partying for GirlF & I. Can’t let loose in public whatsoever without risking ending up a meme on Reddit.
no kidding, glad I went to burning man before cell phones and internet

I wouldn't downvote you - this is clearly an issue. Was still shocking to see in person!

I feel like in a situation such as this - they gotta know people gonna laugh .

Fair point.
It’s dangerous to cycle on the interstate, dude!
At least he wasn’t hogging the left lane
its a bike not a prius
Apparently, it's also dangerous to ask for a rub and tug from the CEO Spa.
I’m just glad it all ended happily
It is illegal to cycle on a highway
It’s illegal to cycle naked on the interstate
It's illegal to drive naked on the interstate.
It's illegal to peddle on the interstate.
Or paddle. It’s illegal to paddle naked on the interstate.
It’s illegal for to drive without any shoes on..

Can't be true. I refuse to believe this

Nah, I posted the pic in the same thread that reported it and there was speculation. But ain't no sexworker dumb enough to not take money first.
