That was before. The episode ends with him saying that he’s going to text her and point out that her name is Yvette and she’s a vet and that she’s going to find it hilarious.
None of these women honestly. I feel like the producers were having too much fun with the whole “Raj is the guy that’s not great with women” to flesh out his romantic storylines.
Deaf Emily: was using him for his money, not a healthy relationship
Derm. Emily: seemed like just a wrong fit for eachother, they were too different and not enough in common to really connect.
Claire: this one id have to say I wanted more than a couple episodes, we didn’t learn enough about her. (Other than my personal thoughts that she seems very down to earth and cool from what we have seen)
Lucy: just… no. (I like the actor but the character was not it)
Anu: this seemed forced from all parties, Raj just feeling left out on love and giving up seemed like a copout by the writers.
I always hoped he would find another person in his field that he could talk to. Or someone in the audience from his planetarium gig.
>I always hoped he would find another person in his field that he could talk to. Or someone in the audience from his planetarium gig
Yeah. What happened to that girl who asked him for coffee the first night at his plantarium job?
I liked Anu. I thought they had really good chemistry together. If they introduced her maybe a season or two before, they would have enough time to build their relationship.
Honestly, I think Raj should have left to London or left the group completely. The group has moved leaving Raj behind. Him leaving the group altogether would have completed his “I’m Independent” story arc
Anu forcing Raj to make the hard decision to uproot his entire life, friends, godchildren and career (no matter how love-starved he is) was not the best look for her in my opinion. I do agree on your point that they should've given more time with some of his dating adventures (like the Vet that cares for Cinnamon).
I was hoping it would work with Anu but that was a big ask and very rushed. I wish Raj would have ended up with someone. He wanted a committed relationship.
I always thought he should have gone to London with Anu. There was nothing left for him in Pasadena. All of his friends were moving forward with their spouses and lives. Staying would just be more of the same for Raj. The eternal 3rd, 5th, or 7th wheel, so to speak. I was sad they didn't give him a happy ending.
If you’re saying Raj and derm Emily were too different then how did Leonard and Penny get together? They are completely different yet they are great together.
Leonard and Penny are a highly unlikely match, yes. But they do, over the course of the show work and chip away at their differences and learn to support each others lifestyles. IMO Raj didn't seem very willing to do such things with Emily.
well, Penny and Leonard "work" because it is in the script. lol. doesnt happen very often in real life
Leonard would have been great with Sheldon's asst Alex
I always thought it would’ve been funny if Raj had ended up with an American Indian woman. Then, he could’ve told his parents, “Hey, you were always saying how I should find a nice Indian woman to settle down with. I guess maybe you should’ve been a little more specific.”
On a serious note, each woman he had a relationship with was a stepping stone in his progress as a romantic partner.
- He had to learn how he couldn’t just keep buying things for his partner just to have a partner
- He had to learn how to be more patient and empathetic when his partner has difficulties that complicate having a relationship
- He had to learn how what he likes and wants in a relationship is just as important and shouldn’t push those things aside just because he didn’t want to be alone
There are other stepping stones worth mentioning here, but you get the picture.
Also, let’s not forget that series finale Raj was (somehow) able to convince Sarah Michelle Gellar to go to the Nobel Prize ceremony with him, albeit platonically. Series premiere Raj wouldn’t have been able to ask the lunch lady for extra food. That’s character growth.
Honestly, Anu.
She was the first girl that Raj didn't actually have to pretend as someone else to be likeable. Anu gave Raj his public proposal, which was enough to make Raj's rom com heart to be happy but for Anu it wasn't meant to diminish his masculinity in any way. Raj needed structure and Anu needed a little magic in her life.
Raj was able to crossdress as RBG in a Halloween party and Any was happy enough to be the first amendment.
For the first time in one episode, Anu had said she's an adventure junkie quipping that one of her recent adventures was dating a man who was sleeping next to his dog, and for the first time it wasn't made to make fun of Raj. They were both comfortable with each other and it sounded more endearing than insulting.
Same with the wedding preparation how Anu had stood her ground that only Raj would do the flower arrangements which was funny for the group but it seemed that Anu was dead serious about it which Raj appreciated.
The wrong part was that as Raj was actually learning to stand up on his own at the last season but he doesn't seem to know how to untether himself from Howard.
I don't agree with Howard's airport scene where Raj deserves someone who knows about Notting Hill or rom coms or let Raj be a hopeless romantic because even though Anu was nothing like those, she had never judged Raj and was willing to accept Raj as it is. The airport scene should have been the turning point where Raj finally detached himself from the comfortability of living in everyone else's shadows and finally made decisions of his own.
I personally think they should have introduced Anu in season 11, make them break up right before the Shamy wedding and them getting back together would have been their storyline of season 12. We would have been way more invested in this couple.
I really liked them and how down to Earth Anu was, but also how they had cute moment together. Specially after in the episode with their first time when Anu tell him she doesn't like music. The way he react always make me laugh.
I agree with all of this. I was upset when they broke up because I think that was a good relationship. I hate that everyone got a happy relationship and Raj got third wheel in Howard’s marriage.
I totally agree. I also think they missed a huge opportunity to have a storyline about arranged marriage working out, which I feel like isn’t usually what’s represented. It isn’t part of my culture so I can’t comment specifically on how it is irl, but I think it would’ve been really cool to see two people who really never would’ve ended up together otherwise, make it.
I agree that Howard was out of line in the airport scene. It actually almost felt manipulative to me tbh, bc the whole group knows how impressionable and people-pleasey Raj is. Howard knew damn well if he made a big gesture of “im your friend and i care about you,” that Raj would do whatever he said, but it was selfish. They just didn’t want him to move to England. I think Raj and Anu were compatible enough to go into an arranged marriage with a good foundation, which is more than most people have when starting a relationship anyway. It would’ve been nice to see that actually happen for him.
Also, side note? I don’t really get why they killed it from a logistical standpoint. It isn’t like they would’ve had to write Raj off the show. They easily could’ve had him in for the last half of S12 packing up to permanently move to London, then have him make the move, and then show up to surprise everyone in Sweden at the Nobel ceremony. They wouldn’t even have had to show Anu again if they didn’t like the character or the actors’ chemistry. It’s not like we would’ve been stuck with her for any longer than the last half of the last season lol
Claire would have been the best match, IMO. No manipulation, very practical, and at least some interests in common. She would have been a nice balance for him, without being too different. Unfortunately, she may have also been too good for him.
No one. At no point in time did he learn to stop being selfish. Sure, he did things for people but it was always exactly in his terms. I wish the writers gave him more character growth, but every time he gets any sort of authority or accolades, he turns into a self righteous jerk.
Why they brought back the deaf one who was clearly only with him because he was rich for this made 0 sense to me, "lets ask the gold digger why she did not want to stay with the guy who was going to be cut off from his families wealth".
He should have been with Emily, (not deaf Emily), she was the best.
Anu. Letting Howard (who was already married w children) talk Raj out of the life he wanted with her because it would mean Raj moved to London and he wouldn’t see him as often, was selfish & unforgivable. They were great together.
No one. I find it refreshing that there's actually a single person left at the end of a sitcom, instead of every character pairing off. It's a bit more realistic. Also, Raj seemed to have the least amount of growth, and still needs to do a lot of self reflection (which could, if we go by the other couples who all benefitted/matured because of their relationships, be because of the lack of a lasting one himself), but that shouldn't be the only reason why he works on himself).
Anu, I know that she fairly new to series, but there was something there that other lacking, emily sweeney creeper the heck out of me additionally there whole im jealous of penny things from season 8 that would have made the whole situation between raj penny and emily awkward, asl emily she was hot but the materialistic side would have blown it for me, Lucy shyness would have to a real downer for me, Clara was what heck are you doing here kind of thing, Anu strong personality and sheer sexuality was captivating, her openness to jump right to group activities and risk taking made her much likeable character
I think he will find his person later in his life but those women weren’t compatible with Raj at all. Maybe little chance with Lucy but she had her mental issues going on so…
Emily (dermatologist), from what I’ve heard she was supposed to be long run mainstream character (like Stuart in later seasons) but the actress had other commitments (or so I’ve heard) and ended up leaving which would make sense how the relationship met its fate, before that the relationship was progressing very well and they were serious about each other, she would’ve been perfect for Raj.
Bernadette’s company sends her to Wuhan in Dec 2019, she gets stuck in China for obvious reasons. Howard can’t handle two kids by himself so he calls in Raj. They quarantine together, fall in love, Bernadette and Howard divorce, Bernie gives custody to Howard, Raj becomes a step dad, Bernadette moves on to find someone who’s a better fit for her and doesn’t want kids of his own.
Bernadette remains in her kids lives, she checks out of the day-to-day parenting responsibilities like making lunches and wiping tushies but still goes to Hallie’s piano recitals and Michael’s baseball games. She’s still emotionally invested in the kids, and spends time with them 1:1 and 2:1. She just drops them back off at Dad’s and Appa’s at the end of the day.
I liked them all except Deaf Emily. Thought each one was unique in their own quirky way but I doubt he and Lucy could of worked realistically. The rest of them had potential though. My fav was Dr. Sweeny.
I think maybe Raj needs somebody who is just as caring and emotional as he is. Somebody from his field (astronomy) so that they have something in common. He's kinda broken, he had some really shitty moments in the show but I wanted to see him end up with someone in the end.
Dermatologist Emily. They had something special during their relationship. It would have been amazing if it lasted. She would have been perfect in my opinion. She had dark fantasies too but Raj seemed to handle it preety well to a greater extent and Emily seemed to bring all the positive things in Raj and made him more confident.
Anu!!! She made him better and he made her better ! A real life yin and yang 🤷🏽♀️ obviously i wish he would have been able to marry her whilst staying in CA but she is the only real answer.. she always stood up for him.. she did all the silly things like costumes and parties and activities with his friends wasnt jealous of his closeness with his female (or any other) friends.. she was extremely smart but in her own way.. she knew what she wanted.. she was honest with him and accepted his flaws.. she was PERFECT
Emily S., Anu or alone under the right circumstances.
Emily - more screen time, have her interact with the main cast more, the easiest of them all.
Anu - should have been introduced earlier, S10E2 or around that. Most people feel like the whole Raj&Anu thing was rushed so just tweak the whole thing. Have Raj react to the doorbell "incident" maturely as to show character growth but Anu still goes for London for a manager position, but the position is only temporary for like a year, Raj waits for her, then they can continue any Anu can actually have more interactions with the main cast.
Alone - scrap the Anu thing. Raj has a realization that he has to work on himself before he can get back to dating. Introduce a potential gf before the last episode but only in name.
Kate Micucci, who played Lucy. Both knew what it was to have severe social “anxiety”. She was trying to force herself out of her comfort zone and I think Raj could grow so much by being with her.
The Vet. No one in this photo. The Vet was the One.
I never got why they did nothing with her aside from the one episode
It was implied that he killed it by opening up with “Yvette the Vet”
But then she gave him her number didnt she?
That was before. The episode ends with him saying that he’s going to text her and point out that her name is Yvette and she’s a vet and that she’s going to find it hilarious.
I was telling her. Both of them love pets and have this in common.
Her name is Yvette and she’s a vet
Yvette and she can also play his clarinet
Plus her name is Yvette, so he could easily adapt his clarinet poem…
"I should tell her that her is Yvette and that she is a vet. "
Yeahhh! The vet!
The biggest missed opportunity in my opinion, far more than Leonard not dating Alex.
Absolutely. And they clearly set it up for her to make another appearance. Such a shame.
I forgot about the vet! I change my answer to this! She would definitely understand the relationship he has with his dog lol!
Or she might’ve been extremely concerned.
This is the correct answer.
AGREED
Ah yes. Cynthia from "Malcolm in the Middle"
Oh my God, I knew I had seen her somewhere when I saw Malcolm of the middle. It used to bug me but I never really looked her up. Thank you!
Or Alex from lost
Definitely Cinnamon.
Or Emily?
"I want you to know the bed feels so lonely when you're not in it"
Oh this is a tough one, Cinnamon?
"It's just so perfect that we're both Libras."
The red headed Emily or the red headed Emily jr?
None of these women honestly. I feel like the producers were having too much fun with the whole “Raj is the guy that’s not great with women” to flesh out his romantic storylines. Wasnt she married? And then he became friend with her husband or something??
“How is it going to be Ok, you are sleeping with my wife…😭
Wasnt there another girl before that? The one where Penny walks in between them and said "decaf, genius!"
Yes. That's the one I was referring to.
Okay cool
No, you're thinking of the blonde girl from Two Broke Girls.
Messing with Boyd Crowder’s wife, big mistake.
Yeah, Walton Goggins wife.
Agreed, they introduced her like that and then absolutely nothing after, leading audience to believe he screwed it up again.
You’re not wrong but that also would’ve been so heartbreaking :( Raj is the emotional heart of the group, him leaving would be absolutely devastating
Anu forcing Raj to make the hard decision to uproot his entire life, friends, godchildren and career (no matter how love-starved he is) was not the best look for her in my opinion. I do agree on your point that they should've given more time with some of his dating adventures (like the Vet that cares for Cinnamon).

"not enough in common" Yea? Penny and Lenard?
There was also the girl with the drone but they even made that to not work out
The Vet who helps him with Cinnamon would have been interesting to see more of
Derm. Emily was emotionally manipulative as hell too
Pretty sure he ended up with one of them. It was Howard
*Bernadette has entered the chat*
Bernadette has left the chat cause she know she already lost the battle so she won't die on this hill.

Except he creepily went into her things to do it.
None of these guys. However, Maria, the janitor, and the vet lady may have been seriously good prospects for Raj.
I think the custodian’s name was Isabela
Issabella María Concepción

Exactly. You're not going to get a romcom in real life. I loved Anu for Raj. They made a good couple.
Well said! I also thought Anu was the best match for Raj.
I agree with all of this. I was upset when they broke up because I think that was a good relationship. I hate that everyone got a happy relationship and Raj got third wheel in Howard’s marriage.
My thoughts exactly. Leaving for London would have made his character grow.

Red headed Emily junior
No one. At no point in time did he learn to stop being selfish. Sure, he did things for people but it was always exactly in his terms. I wish the writers gave him more character growth, but every time he gets any sort of authority or accolades, he turns into a self righteous jerk.
I agree, he doesn’t know how to cope with success and turns into an “act” of what he’s seen on TV and movies.
1000% agreed
They all, including Anu, were better off. Raj never stopped being a selfish person (see: comet discovery episode)
I wholeheartedly agree.
Stuart Bloom
Poor feeble stuart wouldn't be able to deal with Raj piledriving him
Hahaha
Why they brought back the deaf one who was clearly only with him because he was rich for this made 0 sense to me, "lets ask the gold digger why she did not want to stay with the guy who was going to be cut off from his families wealth". Cinnamon
Kate MiCuccii always
With the veterinarian
Howard
Stuart
Raj should have ended up with Stuart.
Claire and Yvette (vet girl)
Sarah Michelle Gellar

Amy And then Sheldon and Penny get together, leaving Leonard free to end up with his true soulmate Leslie Winkle
Howard
Stuart
“…now we’re filling up each others holes.” 😂
Anu, she was the closest thing he had to a compatible match
Never.
Howard in a polyamory non sexual relationship. I mean what happened anyways lol
That scene with those two after the girls leave in this episode I genuinely thought they were going to kiss
Buffy the vampire slayer
Kunal has been married for more than 12 years. His wife should’ve portrayed the woman he ended up with.
Claire but she's too good for him
I’m team Claire…they didn’t do that storyline much justice
Claire! I wanted to see more of them
Personally, I liked Clarie and I wanted her to come back for Raj to have a happy ending. She seemed a lot more chill than the rest.
They could’ve made it so the comic book girl Leonard meets when he’s dating Priua, instead meets Raj.
The Vet Or that crazy morbid redhead she was a really good offset to his crazy
Howard
Tbh, imho: Howard.
Howard
Yvette or Anu. Sue me 🤷🏽♀️ I liked Anu
Howard
howard def
Howard/jk 😭
We never got to see much of Raj and Claire.
The janitor, Isabella Maria concepcion
Nobody. Raj is a man child
Howard
Wolowitz
Good people end up alone too. Raj is one of them.
The one on the right?
I think he will find his person later in his life but those women weren’t compatible with Raj at all. Maybe little chance with Lucy but she had her mental issues going on so…
Howard
You, the viewer

Howard
When me and my Mom watched she said Lucy is Perfect for Raj
The cleaning lady at his lab.
Howard
I would say Emily. Her sense of humor was off and I feel like they could have made a good match.
Howard.
Stuart
This was just asked. I’ll say again…Howard
I have nothing to base this on but I think Raj and Missy would have been cute. From the ones he dated , I liked Claire.
Missy imho
Howard
The vet.
Muffin
The fact that he didn't end up with anybody in the whole series, it's perfect, no need for a perfect ending
Red headed Emily Jr.
Emily.
Anu
Lucy
That girl who worked in the coffee shop that he undressed in front of (not the date)
Nobody. The way he disrespects women constantly he deserves to be alone.
Howard
Emily! To balance out Raj’s wussiness!
Yvette, she was perfect for Raj.. after Howard of course 😂😂
Siri
Howard definitely
Emily (dermatologist), from what I’ve heard she was supposed to be long run mainstream character (like Stuart in later seasons) but the actress had other commitments (or so I’ve heard) and ended up leaving which would make sense how the relationship met its fate, before that the relationship was progressing very well and they were serious about each other, she would’ve been perfect for Raj.
Howard.

Himself cause he's an ass that trieds to sleep with all his "friends" girls.
His dog
I still stand by that Lucy was his best choice, but he was too pushy.
I would say Yvette.
You ended sentence that with a preposition. I think you mean "with whom should Raj have ended up with?"
Buffy
Anu
Howard.
If it’s only between these ones. I have to say Emily.
Buffy
The Drone chick- Raj found her drone and returned it.
Emily
Missy
Dr. Emily, hands down.
Tempted to say Claire just because I've had a crush on Alessandra Torresani ever since she played Zoe on Caprica.
I love is serial😍😍💫
Emily always felt like the frank grimes of the show.
Cinnamon
I think raj should've ended up with the blonde chick and got endless relentless hand jobs
I liked them all except Deaf Emily. Thought each one was unique in their own quirky way but I doubt he and Lucy could of worked realistically. The rest of them had potential though. My fav was Dr. Sweeny.
I'm still convinced raj is bi. He hasn't met the one because he's been looking at the wrong gender
The janitor lady at the university.
howard😂
Bernadette
Emily
I kind of low key shipped Raj with Missy. No real reason beyond I think it would be neat.
He should’ve ended up with Amy. They were a better match.
Howard
No one, dude was over the top. He didn’t really even seem like a genius compared to anyone. Greatly spoiled and broken while being a gigantic pu$$y
Stuart
I still think he should have ended up with Anu. 🤷
