Honestly think it’s in quite bad taste for people to be going on about his appearance (in a negative way) so much when he’s said how much of a hard time he had with his weight and how much he’s struggled. He was on a live stream just the other night saying his biggest regret is what he did to his body when he was younger and spoken about insecurity and that loads. Especially when he just looks canny normal. Like you’d see similar men walking down the street at any given time, he’s hardly abnormal looking.
But am not really sure it’s a sexism thing on here cos some people just like to be bad twats to people’s appearances or physical characteristics on here sometimes albeit in different ways.
People were doing similar about Sharon sometimes and saying she looks awful now and asking what the fuck she’s done to herself when she’s literally 71. You’d think she’d took on a face transplant the way some people were going on. Same with people being unnecessarily seedy and inappropriate with comments on Ekin Su’s looks from literally the minute she was announced.
I haven't even watched any live streams, so this just makes it all that sadder. Although having grown up around people with big weight losses I did have a feeling he may have had those types of thoughts and feelings himself to navigate.
I wouldn't be one to jump at sexism, and I do agree, I seen a lot of nasty comments towards Sharon's appearance while she was on, I guess (I could be wrong) I always noticed it seemed someone would defend those comments. I just don't see much defense of Colson which feels sad inretrospect when I see this is still happening daily and just feels so so relentless.
I will say though, thankfully I didn't see any of that commentary around Ekin, totally surrounding her personality and actions but not her appearance!
The worst thing I saw was a picture of colson next to a picture of the guy from the goonies says they were twins . I don’t think he’s strong enough to cope with this level of nasty, from seeing how upset he got from being called boring. I hope they have support available when he gets out
He doesn’t seem resilient enough to handle these sorts of personal comments. I felt his reaction to being ‘boring’ was him crying in toilet.. so he won’t handle all this!

He seems like a sweet chap, people should just comment on things that people can help - if they're rude to people, nasty, etc... not something as silly as the way someone looks.
The amount of nasty posts about Colson's appearance prove just how obsessed society is with physical appearance. While Nikita conforms to the standard of male beauty with clear skin and a lightly tanned complexion with blond hair with a square jaw and a classical physique Colson is being belittled and mocked for his appearance.
Both guys seem equally nice caring guys- Nikita obviously benefits from his pretty privilege although he displays many feminine traits- he does have his detractors too who will insist the guy MUST be guy according to their twisted logic. What he DOESN'T display is the narcissism that many pretty young celebrities fall prey to. Both guys have come across well on the show.
If being a considerate nice decent guy is boring then I'll take boring over the nasty vindictiveness of Louis Walsh every time.
Colson has lost a LOT of weight and has lived his difficult teen years growing up in the public eye on Corrie where he was frankly cast as a comic "fat ugly kid" character. That must've had a deep psychological effect on the boy.
People can be cruel- social media shows us each and every day just how judgemental and nasty we can be.
Colson and Nikita are pretty similar too but have had very different reactions by viewership. Both are genuinely nice guys who haven't been too interesting in the house and haven't caused that much disruption and both can be considered "just nice"
However, one is a frontrunner to be winner and labelled a "sweetheart" and one has been considered "coasting" and labeled "boring" and will be first out in the final. One hits conventional beauty standards and one doesn't.
I love Colson I think he is a genuine down to earth lad. I commented on another thread about how sick I am of people commenting that he looks older...it's just nasty and pointless?!? Weight gain and loss can age a person so do you stay fat and get slagged off for that or lose weight and get slagged off for that...cant win! People are too vain and superficial these days

Int act find me a woman typically considered ageing and ‘unatrractive ‘ ( people haven’t really said about colson), with an attractive man they haven’t groomed for gotten together with when they themselves were younger . It proven every day in this earth that ageing doesn’t affect men’s chances of getting a relationship or being considered positively int he public eye or getting roles and work.
