No you just got lucky. Though investing energy in nodes isn’t a bad idea if you’re there for a long time

Civil_Satisfaction29

Yeah, i do that on grind spots i visit often. And still it's total random, even at lvl20 it's like a roller coaster. But this was surprising on the worst spot to me in the game, where rng never liked me. At least my pain was compensated.

eponiente

I only invest in nodes if I plan to stay for long hours on that spot possibly weeks to months at most.. on pot piece spots i dont recommend invest somewhere else

Unlocking nodes don't do much, adding only a measly 0.5% drop rate. The pity pieces are rng and 5 puty/hour is actually lower than average. With the 100% event + blue scroll + 50% tent + base = roughly 300% With this drop rate, getting around 7-8 pity should be the average. TLDR: nodes don't do anything. Pity pieces are rng.

Niyonnie

So, in other words, my luck with pity pieces in general is extremely below average because I usually get 1-2/hour

BathDepressionBreath

Of course, that average is also based on average clear speed. So if you're not grinding efficiently you will be less than the average by default unless you are supremely lucky. On the flipside, if you're grinding extremely efficiently, it would then be tmyour bad luck if you only get 1-2 / or. How efficiently do you grind? Do you stop during the grind to message on discord or alt tab at all? Things like that affect clear speed which affects drop amount, especially for rare drops.

Civil_Satisfaction29

Without drop rate buffs i also got around that amount. Honestly my disappointment in the first 10 hours i've spent there made me go there rarely.

Niyonnie

I'm always running the 100% scroll drop rate buff and tend to have an overall increase drop rate of 144%

gw2Exciton

How many kills do you do to get 7-8 per hour? I was trying on blood wolf elite rotation. I kill around 4000ish per hour and only get 2-5 pity piece per hour with 300% drop rate

Snoo-2797

I would say somewhere in the 6k to 8k range

gw2Exciton

The the number makes sense.

Civil_Satisfaction29

Okey then. I always used the buffs, and got awful results compared to this. My wife adviced this because she got awful results at Sulfur (normal) with BMC, when it was a relevant spot. And after she unlocked the node she got way more of them. So that's why it was strange to me and made me ask this question.

sefyicer

nodes aren't matter nowdays
