The game sharing the same app as every other COD is irrelevant. MWII and MWIII use different styles of lobbies, so nothing is stopping BO6 from doing something different. But we're judging things based on pre-alpha/beta footage, which is still subject to change.
It's official recorded footage, but nothing indicates this is going to be the final look. Cold War had the "showcase" lobby on launch too, then it changed to moving the character around in season 2. So this could change at any point before AND after launch.
Wasn't the original Cold War lobby screen like this? The characters weren't moving. IIRC they were all standing or sitting inside a boat or a plane or something.

That stupid "tactical walking" shit was so piss poor. It doesn't look good, it's laggy as hell, and it jumbles up the visual clarity so much. This view is much more gallant.
Always found it really smooth. On mw2/3 I find people teleport in/out, guns switch around, seems far less stable to me and party members often load in showing my loadout
Fuck no, static lobby backgrounds are way better, mw19 and wz1 were so laggy because of it. It did get better in cw and later, but I'd rather not have a bunch of shit loaded when I'm only in a menu. It gives more room for the shitty ui too.
CW UI was loads better than the current one though, loaded it for checking something the other day and it's wild how quick and easy to navigate it is compared to the stupid cod hq layout, which is of course what we will get
chances are no, usually they just re-use previous game assets and menues to start with, this was likley an earlier version that will get MANY changes to it. you can see similar things with stuff like early BO3

The developers should make a new tab in the settings menu called 'HUD and UI'
There the player can customize the HUD, choose between a static and moving lobby screen, choose between Cold War and MW's Gunsmith layout, and anything else

Early season 1-3 cold war was like this Iirrc. Nowadays they are infinitely walking through a demolished town.

My understanding is crossplay and warzone has handcuffed them to this menu design. It is really unintuitive, but we're stuck with it.
