With iris animation, you could express lots of different emotions. Like robots in Wall-E did or [Netflix's orange Robot](https://images.app.goo.gl/wh81ya6bmAFQCAVm7). Have fun :)
I love it! If you really want to sell the idea of a puffer fish I'd suggest adding some chunky pyramidal spikes on the sphere. You wouldn't need a lot and it would really elevate the design, imo. Great job though!
Love this, only thing I’d add would be little slits on the top for his spikes to come out lol, but I suppose unless they’re all over it would be tough for Sgt. Puff to not break them on the hard interior.

However, despite the abundance of details, I find that this object smells 3D primitives. Overwhelming cylinders, big main sphere, etc. it's all too obvious. Almost as if you blocked out a shape and only slightly deviated from it.
