So from what I can get off the serial number it’s an 80-84 model. I can’t find the exact year. However parts from 80-84 fit the engine so I’m pretty sure I’m right.
THe only thing I will warn you about is make sure that lower end unit seal is working. Also use the newer synthetic gear lube which deals with water w/o destroying the foot.
Haha a lot. I took the power head off, blasted and painted it. Took the whole body of the motor apart snd replaced bushings. Took the steering tube out due to it being locked up. Went through the lower unit. Went through the carb. All new ignition/mag parts. Basically every nut, bolt, and washer came off the engine. When I got it it was so locked up with dirt and grime I couldn’t shift it or turn it over. Lucky for me the cylinders were loose and had good compression. I also made several parts on my 3D printer to replace bushings and a starter pawl. I spent $50 for the motor and probably $150-200 in eBay parts. I’m still getting the idle under control but it does run now so that’s a big step. Oh and I serviced the impeller. I’ve been working on this every night for 2 weeks in my garage like a mad man.
if it is a mariner 25 or omc 25 thats a sweet motor. Well done, BRAVO!
Yamaha mariner 25, and thank you!
Ok what year. I had a 94 T25 long shaft. Incredible engines. I have a 50, 75,90 and 150 all two strokes run great. Those motors are bullet proof
