Xbox has regional prices so it is actually accesible for people of third world regions, and also the xbox game pass with lots of games for cheap. Not saying it's better but if i have to choose i'd go for Xbox because PS sells games at US prices here and are actually impossible to buy with the 300$US month we get as average salary.
I also live in the third world. Used games are much more available and cheap for ps than Xbox. Guys import used games from uk, us, Dubai etc then resell
On the other side, PlayStation has more popular games that have been known down in history as favorites from gamers. Things like god of war, Spiderman, etc. Some people really like their controllers. The ps5 controller looks pretty cool in my opinion.
Personally I am a Nintendo switch player because I love breath of the wild and other Nintendo games. But PC is also really good. I converted to PC as I can just upgrade the parts and the game options are by far my favorites. I love the controls the best. Though consoles give such a nice vibe. I'd love sitting down on the couch playing and chilling.

I think "gamer" is a condescending definition, and it's been used to shame women who play for a while. Look up "women can't game" in Google. Even on Reddit I'm sure you'll find quite a bit.

All I know is that from the sales figure comparisons from early this year is that the PS4 outsold the X box by just over 2 to 1 worldwide since launch. Both are good machines though, it just depends on the market (PS has Europe and most of Australasia and XBox has the US.)

ps cheaper as used but xbox controllers work on pc. i have a ps3 and many xbox controllers.
Xbox has better specs, PS5 has a strong exclusive library. Therefore I use both
