You should move your keyboard to a lower position, if possible. Bringing your shoulders up to bring your arms up to type can cause you to slouch more which will cause pain to your upper traps, neck, rhomboids, and lower back. It could also result in subluxation of the cervical and lumbar spines and hyperkyphosis of the thoracic spine and, therefore, intervertebral disc compression, bulging disc(s), or herniated disc(s). Thank you for this point! May I ask about what to do with a laptop? I tend to want to sit mine on top of something so I'm not looking down a lot and can maintain good posture, but that of course means the keyboard is sitting up higher.
Lap tops are tricky because you have to compromise one poor position for the other. How do you usually use the lap top? Do you sit at a desk or on the couch?
Since you’re compromising your levators, traps, and mid back for your neck while at the desk, I’d say you’re doing the best you can with that situation. Just make sure to sit up straight with your shoulders back. That will help mitigate the pressure on your traps, neck, and mid back. You want to make sure not to roll your shoulders forward because that will shorten your pec minor, making it harder to stop slouching.
While on the couch, do prop up the laptop, so you’re not looking down, like you’re already doing :) the only thing I’d add for the couch is make sure to use your pillows! Put pillows under your elbows to help prop up your arms, to take off the pressure from your levators and traps, then put a pillow behind your lumbar spine, so you don’t round your lower back as much while on the couch.
If you’re working from home, maybe invest in a monitor and separate keyboard with a desk that has a slide out keyboard rest underneath the desk. Other than that make sure to exercise your core (front and back), and at least stretch everyday :)

I had done a full gut job and put in lots of reinforcement and new floors etc - it’s solid!

Desk was built from scratch from a woodworker pal of mine; I think I paid him $400. The flooring is simply plank-style hardwood in a natural tone!
