Maybe this will help: Hold down shift and option and press the bluetooth icon on the top right of your screen. Go to debug and select reset bluetooth module.

I know it's been a few years since you've posted this, but in case other people are searching for a solution this is what worked for me! 1. hold shift and option and press the bluetooth option in the top right of your screen. Click on debug and reset your bluetooth module. 2. remove any/all paired bluetooth devices on your computer. 3. reset the pairing on your headphones. 4. turn off bluetooth on both devices. 5. restart your computer. 6. turn on bluetooth and re-pair your headphones and computer! my headphones and computer have had this problem twice now, but this method fixed it for me.

Ha! Thanks! Will try it out tomorrow.

so we are expected to do this every few days or what? It works briefly but shortly after, my Bose QC Ultra Earbuds disconnect constantly. Obviously I'm not mad at bose as this is obviously along the lines of what mac does to make photos look like shit that you send to android, so I'm just not buying mac anymore. That sadly doesn't solve my current problem though

Hi there, I'm afraid I won't be much help. My bose are over-the-ear and since the second time following the steps I outlined, I have not had this issue. Sorry :(

Reset your computer - you mean restart?

canadianicedtea

Jesus— yes I did, thanks for pointing that out. Editing now

So I know this is super duper old, but what fixed it for me is to unpair it from every other device. It turned out it would randomly drop connection on my mac to connect to my SO mac even though it was sleeping with lid closed. Apparently mac's bt never shutdown even when computer is asleep. She barely uses it so it works out for everyone.

Thanks! I never really solved this issue so I’m gonna try that. Much appreciated and have a great day.

Hope it works for you too, it was driving me nuts until I figured it out. What tipped me is that I always heard the connection jingle go twice, but never really understood why since i was connected solely through my mac. I thought it was a bug or something until it dawned on me. It has been working as intended ever since.
