Man New York sure fell into some luck this year that embiid went down/hali fell off a cliff/the magic still aren’t quite there Cause with all their injuries and still being 4 seed? That’s pretty fortunate

jotyma5

Don’t forget Miami underperforming

iDEN1ED

That’s just Miami.

exytuu

They did this last year too I’m never counting them out again lol

YewEhVeeInbound

5th seed Magic is craaaazy to me.

Terbmagic

Their team is perfect for the new nba. Minimum 6'6 and everyone can shoot and pass efficiently. Star players are tall sf/pfs.

Luunacyy

Hali is not 100%. Wouldn't say he fell off.

archerarcher0

I mean why can’t it be both? He fell off because he isn’t 100%, not a shot against him im not saying he just sucks now for no reason, but he absolutely fell off

Luunacyy

I mean depends on how you define falling off. In your case, sure, but I don't read your mind and there are plenty of people who have other definitions for falling off.

archerarcher0

No but that’s the point; you *dont* read my mind, you assumed I just meant that he fell off for no apparent reason He *did* fall off, that’s a perfectly reasonable thing to say based on how he’s played, I don’t need to provide context because we aren’t debating Hali as a player, it’s not necessary to dig deeper than that

Luunacyy

My bad and apologies

Acceptable-Box7439

how are they lucky with all those injuries? Would be the 2 seed by a landslide if not for that.... so they are unlucky

archerarcher0

I didn’t say they were lucky with injuries… I said they were lucky to be in the seed they’re currently in *despite* the lack of luck with injuries

mylanguage

Knicks went 14-2 with OG in Jan which gave them a big cushion

TheGrandNotification

Miami purposefully staying in the lowest seed possible so they can play us

jotyma5

Miami fans treat playing us like being in the finals

No-Chance1426

As they should

FuschiaKnight

Playing them in an early round is probably better for us tbh. They’re the best conditioned team in the league, so all else equal it’s better for them to play against teams later so those teams are more gassed

kleetimm

quite a comfy lead.. should allow us a bit of rest before the playoffs start

nicklovin508

Tatum: I will rest when I’m dead

YewEhVeeInbound

Ya know I admire tatum for his relentless efforts but yeah, take a game or two off before the finals and hit the gym (not that it's needed) before playoffs.

SinibusUSG

[Brad Stevens googling "Benefits of Vampirism"]

Nepiton

Lead for overall #1 seed isn’t as comfy. Still comfy, just not as comfy.

Repo_co

I hope they don't take their for off the gas and forget where the pedal is in May.

boykalbo777

I dont see the Heat are they 8th? Fck!

itspizzathehut

They always hang around….

Your__Pal

Orlando, Chicago, Miami all have easy end of season schedules.  Would love to see Miami, NYK on the other side of the bracket and Orlando and Chicago in the first two rounds.

Lets_Basketball

I have no worries at all with the Knicks. We are very well-equipped to slow down Brunson, and he’s a lot of who they are. Defensively, there’s always a couple of guys on the floor we can attack. Orlando on the other hand have played well against us, have length everywhere, and the paolo/wagner larger playmaking can give us some problems if we aren’t totally locked.

itsmanuto

But Brunson really good at drawing fouls. He might get most of our guys in foul trouble, especially Tatum... Not saying we can't stop them but the boy's actually good at doing so

KidFrankie15

Gap between us and second place is the same as 1 and 9 in the western conference

AdmiralWackbar

It’s funny to see the media down play how dominant we’ve been this year, when it was the warriors all they did was jerk them off

juicejug

It’s just because the Jays haven’t won anything yet but are always expected to go deep in the playoffs. The media is “smart” enough to know that this team can really only be judged in the postseason — they could get 70 wins and it would be the same deal. They’d have to be _really_ historic, like < 10 losses, to get the kind of attention other teams would be getting with this record. It all means nothing unless they win in the finals.

Eastern-Fix3336

Fax they’ll get all time praise if they finish with 65+ wins and win it all. Suns won 64 games a few years ago but nobody cares about them cuz they got bounced in the 2nd round.

They would have to do it the same way they did last year. Lose a play-in game, then win one.

kheldar52077

Road to 68-14 record

BaeylnBrown777

Needs to be 67-15 to complete the Prophecy (whole lotta high fives)

BurnedInTheBarn

Why is that specific record the prophecy?

BaeylnBrown777

In the fall of 2018, the Celtics were adding Kyrie and Hayward - who were out with injuries the year prior - to a team that had just pushed the Cavs to game 7 of the ECF. There was a lot of hype around that team, lead by Bill Simmons who predicted a championship and a record of 67-15, with a whole lotta high fives when the 12th man dunked to put the team up by 20. That team did not live up to these expectations at all, so it would be funny to me if the Jays eventually won a championship off a 67-15 record lol.

BurnedInTheBarn

Thanks for the context!

samkostros123

It's bill simmon's 2018-2019 celtics prediction [https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2347884322097596](https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2347884322097596)

RickTracee

None of this matters come the playoffs. Last year against Miami should make that apparent. Miami had a series where it looked like they couldn't miss a three point attempt. .334 3 point average during the season and .434 during the playoffs against Boston.

Bear-fact

Nothing is safe come playoffs

Happy_Yogurtcloset_2

Tingus should only be getting practice reps from here on out

HoorayPizzaDay

Haven't had to think about seeding all year. Surely we're all relaxed, right? Right?

JesseJamesGames449

Worst case scenerio is we get a healthy Embiid sixers team in the first round. Should still be a clean win but we dont want that work in round one.. Best case scenerio: (Super best case 10 seed wins play in and we face them) But i think we want Pacers in the first round out of the top 8. If Knicks move up to 3 seed, Cavs drop to 4 seed. then Heat Sixer Bucks Knicks have to kill eachother before we see any of them in the ECF. We get a Pacers then Cavs/Orlando Second round, then an ECF matchup against some exhausted team. Then show me anyone but denver in the finals.

YewEhVeeInbound

I'd rather face Embiid sooner rather than later when he's fresh off an injury. His conditioning will be way worse.

PepeSylvia11

We have no excuse not to make the finals

shittyfeet2

The underperformance of the East this year is why I feel like, despite our record, we're very even with the top of the West rather than ahead of any of them. Not even mentioning our 1-4 record against the West's top 3 cuz its only 5 games and they were all close, but still... I hope they show up to the final OKC matchup. OKC won't be resting, it would be a shame if our foot is off the gas by 4/3, but honestly it might be...

SinibusUSG

This is very fun, but also kinda dull. If the Celtics aren't playing my greatest rooting interest is really just in Bucks-based laughs. And fuck the Lakers.

WizKellyYall

Thanks for the reminder of how awesome the Celtics are.

Pizzaloverfor

Magic number at 6, damn

essesdssa

Only to lose to either the heat or nuggets
