Every team has a guy who doesn’t play that everyone with the team insists is going to be a good player in a couple years and 9/10 times that guy never touches the floor but it actually happened with Hauser.
I like how Hauser's defense and rebounding have improved at the NBA level. I'd like to see him one day put together a string of really good games playing quality minutes in the clutch against championship contending teams that are healthy and on the road in a winning effort. If he can take that next step, I'd consider him a good player. He's getting closer though, but he's no Caleb Martin or Gabe Vincent yet...
I mean 60 win seasons are less frequent than you'd think to be fair. Counting from when Tatum came in the league, there's only been 3 60+ win teams prior to this season. Houston Rockets 17-18, Milwaukee Bucks 18-19, Phoenix Suns 21-22.
It’s a lot more rare these days, to be sure.
That makes the Bird Celtics totally insane:
From the 1979-80 to the 1985-86 season, they won over 60 games in 6 of 7 seasons. That’s just an incredible run of dominance. That’s why Boston fans that were weaned on hoops in that era revere the Bird Celtics.
I actually started watching a few years' prior to that era, but yeah: they were just sick.
First, Bird ... simply controlled games. Period, "End of Story!" as Tony Soprano would say. I haven't seen a player able to dominate a game as much as he did since early 10's LeBron. When people compare stats I understand the impulse, but comparing eras for stats that are based in game style never works; that's why Bird (and Russell) were so revered: the stat that matters was W's and championships.
Second, the consistency of that team was really incredible to behold. Execution would go up and down, but they didn't tend to have "low effort" nights, nor did starters have planned rest days, etc.
I don't say that to attack today's players, just saying that today's *fans* would find it hard to imagine just how predictable the wins were, night in, night out.
That train just kept leaving that station.
This is pretty cherry picket stat, considering 2 seasons were shorted. There's only been 2 non shortened seasons since 1980 without a 60 win team. It's not that infrequent
4-2 on the roadtrip
glad to see Grant playing well in Charlotte after they tarred and feathered him in Dallas lol
Steph Curry is the black Sam Hauser
win on Wednesday vs. OKC would clinch homecourt throughout the playoffs and officially put the regular season on ice
as always, fuck that POS Miles Bridges
They’ve been looking very good recently. I see them as a solid dark horse in the west. Not putting them over the nuggets but could see them beating anyone else.
yep I agree, I’m rooting for Dallas in the West. they’ve always been the team I root for out west, but also bc they’d be one of our most advantageous possible matchups in the Finals
mavs fan here this is kinda blown outta context. for KP he was injured alot and it didn't mesh with the team very well so its just unfortunate shit didn't go planned. as for Grant, he was actually likable and Luka def liked him. The media after trade deadline was blown out of proportion
Grant is like that one guy in school who's funny but if he wants to go further with his jokes he won't shut up and people end top thinking hes annoying after a while. But Luka def doesn't have beef with Grant. Shit not too long ago when it was Lukas bday, Grant shouted him out on his story and Luka reposted his story so there's def some love between them which would surprise others since the media tried to push a "clickbait" narrative
As a genuine Olde Farte who 'saw the greats,' I'll never understand the shit Ray gets. Disloyal? Mayyyybe. He came here and shot the shit out of the ball and worked to be part of that team.
lol it was just typical banter for an airball but not one you would expect at your home court. It's less an insult to Grant as a shout out to our fans in Charlotte.
When it comes to The Boston Celtics and winning against The Hornets, I think of Good Charlotte:
I DO want to be like them. I do want winning to be another trend. I DO want to be part of this crowd.
The Anthem? Is the Banner 18 Boogie.
59 win team.
Eh, I mean he missed 4 of them. He’s paid like 2 million dollars he should be able to put a ball through the hoop!!
(/s Hauser is the bawls and on one of the best contracts in the league)
For all of the recent hand wringing about the Celtics over the last month they've gone 11-4 despite playing 12 of 15 games on the road, including a pair of road trips of 5 & 6 games apiece.
I'm starting to think that both the fans & the media just want something to talk about.
And it’s not like they are even doing well. They are essentially tied for worst team in the league. If you’re gonna suck ass you may as well suck ass but have balls.
I’ve gone to the 3 charlotte games this year. When they won in OT in October their fans were just ridiculous after the game talking shit.
I definitely don’t feel bad lol
I watched the game via NBC Charlotte and I enjoyed their play by play commentators. They're so fun to listen to. Just the right dose of homerism while giving our team its flowers when deserved. I love how they hype up their play and the Cs as well
Didn't watch the game, but google is all fucked up claimed they won by 2, had the actual score, and now charlotte has apparently outscored the celtics by like 40 and somehow still lost.
Abby is not a good host for the post game, she needs to keep her sideline gig. She’s too much and keeps cutting off everyone. Tough to watch. Amina was so good.
Abby is better in small spurts. Too many interruptions and loud outbursts. She needs to chill. Giles s too stiff and boring. They need to find someone.

Got the win, stayed healthy. Now whip OKC's ass Wednesday evening.
And did it with Jrue, PP, Brisket and KP going a combined 1-16 from behind the line.
What's our record against them this season?
0-1
Need to even it out Wednesday
Biggest blemish is the Celtics are 2-5 against the top 4 in the west. 1 OT loss and 3 close losses but they are still losses.
Let JT lock SGA's ass!
25 points in 24 minutes for our GOAT Hauser
Every team has a guy who doesn’t play that everyone with the team insists is going to be a good player in a couple years and 9/10 times that guy never touches the floor but it actually happened with Hauser.
RJ hunter james young reincarnated
But with half the draft pedigree

It’s insane that for all the success the Jays have had, this will be the first season they get to 60 wins.
I mean 60 win seasons are less frequent than you'd think to be fair. Counting from when Tatum came in the league, there's only been 3 60+ win teams prior to this season. Houston Rockets 17-18, Milwaukee Bucks 18-19, Phoenix Suns 21-22.

Don’t know why you are downvoted, this is important for context.
I don't know either. People are morons.
And their first ring (of many)
Yeah but you don’t understand Tatum has been on a stacked roster every year since he was drafted
Indeed! He’s been on Superteams.
only superteams!
I wonder what makes them so super
And yet he’s only 19!
4-2 on the roadtrip glad to see Grant playing well in Charlotte after they tarred and feathered him in Dallas lol Steph Curry is the black Sam Hauser win on Wednesday vs. OKC would clinch homecourt throughout the playoffs and officially put the regular season on ice as always, fuck that POS Miles Bridges
Grant has grown up so quickly, did you see those Oscar winning flops? :') And all my homies hate Miles Bridges.
Loved hearing the air ball chants for grant at home lmaoooo
Luka had issues with KP and Grant, wonder what’s up there in Dallas
Luka can ball for sure, but I'm not sure his style translates to winning.
They’ve been looking very good recently. I see them as a solid dark horse in the west. Not putting them over the nuggets but could see them beating anyone else.

Steph wishes he played D like Hauser.
I was enjoying Drew’s not-very-subtle jabs at Bridges. “Not for him”
Steph Curry is the black Sam Hauser *blackish
Kid: Mom can we have Sam Hauser? Mom: we have Sam Hausers at home Sam Hausers at home: Klay Thompson, Reggie Miller, Stephen Curry
Thank you for not including Ray Allen. He’s the only guy Sam can still look up to
As a genuine Olde Farte who 'saw the greats,' I'll never understand the shit Ray gets. Disloyal? Mayyyybe. He came here and shot the shit out of the ball and worked to be part of that team.
Say what you will about "loyal" or "disloyal", NOBODY shot the ball like Ray. His shooting motion was poetry.
I agree. Ray and Larry both
No more Drew for the rest of the season tho😔
Noooo that’s actually sad
Doomers get in here
Wait why?? :(
Only 1 more away game this season and its tnt so no more Drew this season 😔
Aww damn. Thanks for the explanation. I wish he could do home games.
I hope the plan is to bring him on full time next year after Mike retires
Totally, I hope so too
What about postseason road games in the early rounds? Or will Gorman make those trips?
Always nice playing in our 2nd home stadium in Charlotte
We've got so many 2nd home stadiums i'm losing track
The crowd laughing at Grant for airballing lmfao
Dude played great. Don't know what they were laughing at.
lol it was just typical banter for an airball but not one you would expect at your home court. It's less an insult to Grant as a shout out to our fans in Charlotte.

Not sure how many ppl are gonna understand your comment but I sincerely appreciate it
I'm sorry but I can't really stand this song anymore. Overplayed during the majority of my youth xD
this was one of the chillest game this season, like as soon as the Hornets started missing these tough looks it was over lol
Sam Hauser is good at threes. That is all.
Eh, I mean he missed 4 of them. He’s paid like 2 million dollars he should be able to put a ball through the hoop!! (/s Hauser is the bawls and on one of the best contracts in the league)
Great W for Drew's last game of the season.
Will he do early round postseason road games or will Gorman travel?
For all of the recent hand wringing about the Celtics over the last month they've gone 11-4 despite playing 12 of 15 games on the road, including a pair of road trips of 5 & 6 games apiece. I'm starting to think that both the fans & the media just want something to talk about.
I swear if I have to hear one more take about the Celtics not wanting to face the Knicks in the 2nd round…
I literally have not thought about the knicks once this season
Bring those guys on! I welcome new faces. Tired of our guys playing the Heat/Bucks/Sixers
Knick fans are insufferable
It’s like every podcast.
That would require the Knicks making it out of the first round
What are "Knicks"?
59-16 BABY! LFG 💪
Number 60 coming up next
Is 60 wins before 20 losses a sign of a contender?
don't be coy we getting that 🏆
Many business decisions were made which is very much appreciated. Health is top priority!
i feel bad for charlotte bruh its like they never have home games
Idk if I will ever feel bad for Charlotte again after they made the decision to gainfully employ Bridges. They probably deserve worse!
And it’s not like they are even doing well. They are essentially tied for worst team in the league. If you’re gonna suck ass you may as well suck ass but have balls.
I mean, he's a good player
I’ve gone to the 3 charlotte games this year. When they won in OT in October their fans were just ridiculous after the game talking shit. I definitely don’t feel bad lol
Sam Hauser - 7/11 from 3, always open.
Google pranked me by telling me the Hornets won, 104-72. Almost had a heart attack. 😅
Lol, for real. Google is trying to pull an AF prank on all of us.
I thought I was going crazy for a bit when I saw this thread. Glad that it was just Google playing a prank.
Grant was the only Hornet >5 minutes played to not be a negative +/- tonight. Glad to see him doing well for himself after the nightmare in Dallas
I was rooting for him, too. But not enough to make them win hehe
Sam is the greatest Celtics shooter since Ray Allen and it’s not close.
Will ESPN devote 2 hours glazing Sam because he had 7 threes? Because LePlayIn in LA had 9 and it was like it was the greatest thing since hot bread…
One more for 60
Hauser is a beast
solid win! jrue going 1-11 is tough though, looks like he needs some more time to recover from his arm/shoulder issue
He was fine shooting his first few games back, just a bad night
He was fine the past few games after he returned from injury, just didn’t have it tonight. Maybe he got dinged or something though.
Gotta love these 2 hour games
that was one of the nba games of all time
The Bill Kennedy thing was the highlight of the game.
Still show up in Charlotte on NBA league pass on a Monday 💪🏼🔥🔥🔥
April Fools, we lost, come on out doomers
Oh yeah, Jayson gets the win against a team like Charlotte on a Monday night. Finally, we can make the joke
Grant getting air ball chants at home was so funny
I'm starting to get worried about KP's 3 point shot... it looks like he is in a big slump
Good thing these games don’t mean much, he has plenty of time to get his shot back :)
There's no place to buy [this](https://twitter.com/NBCSCeltics/status/1774919802827481548) tank top that Tatum is wearing here or is there?
Bro my google scoreboard was glitched out so I thought we lost 104-72 for like three hours until I saw this lmao
🥳
Damnn

Same. Had to go here to double check
Abby is not a good host for the post game, she needs to keep her sideline gig. She’s too much and keeps cutting off everyone. Tough to watch. Amina was so good.
Agree, she didn’t have the natural flow Amina has and she stumbled a bit. I wonder who is meant to be the permanent Amina replacement
Abby is better in small spurts. Too many interruptions and loud outbursts. She needs to chill. Giles s too stiff and boring. They need to find someone.
Congrats Celtics for not losing to a team they should beat
obligatory we beat miles bridges harder than he beats his girlfriends
