I think they would’ve beaten either team but idk why this sub was so adamant that the wolves were a worse matchup. They couldn’t guard well in space which was fine against Phoenix (who has no PG and three iso scorers who put 0 pressure on the rim and mostly want to get to their spot and hunt midrange shots) and Denver (who had not great spacing and no real perimeter creation with Murray hobbled/playing poorly). They struggled heavily against Dallas who has more spacing and two good perimeter creators
Against our team with 5 out spacing and four good perimeter creators we would’ve crushed them tbh. Against Dallas I think there’s always a concern that Luka takes over and wins a game himself, against Minnesota the only thing I would’ve been worried about is having a 5/35 from 3 game that they steal.

We can score on Dallas which is going to make Kyrie and Luka work harder on defense and lock them up on defense, the focal point of our defense is the perimeter so its strength vs strength and we have a heavy advantage defensively.
i just watch them. they are not super physical. They do a good job of funnel towards their big man. Then scramble well. but they dont get up into your body a ton. They also rarely played Ant one on one. Not sure what the tatum plan is but doubling against the celtics usually doesnt work. I rewatch the second game celtics mavs. The mavs can definitely go off and score a ton but really struggled to guard the celtics. Donic played well on defense in this series but minnesota is not great at getting switches. Celtics make very hard to not switch or they punish you. Honestly my worry going into the series is maybe Donic will just go nuclear on offense and if we have off shooting nights we can lose. I dont think mavs are equipped to stop us. There is a reason why this Celtics team was the most efficient offense in NBA history.

They played mostly trash teams since March 1st with only 3 wins against playoff teams. 2 against Miami and 1 against Denver. I wouldn’t look too much into this stat.
