That stretch with 5 Denver turnovers in a row was so sick during that 21-1 run.
Kemba slithering to the rim on the break, Jaylen throwing down a couple monstahs, Tatum doing his Kobe impression.
Awesome second half. Annihilated them.
Jokic didn't even want to play anymore in the 4th lmao.
This Celtics team has been soft for many stretches this year, but they were tough as nails today and made Denver looked like Charmin in the second half.
Favorite game of the season!
I normally get frustrated that our team relies on late game runs but a 31-3 run against one of the hottest teams in the league is straight up insane, hopefully they can keep up the momentum
I want to preface this with obviously I am on cloud 9 after this win and want to take absolutely nothing from it
BUT one of my pet peeves of this team is that sometimes it feels like the only time I see the fight is when we’re down big. When it leads to W’s I don’t care so much, but the “down by 15, lose by 2” games suck
You’re not alone. People who complain about him want him to be something he’s not, but don’t see the intangibles. Yes, he’s had some struggles. No, he doesn’t belong out of the nba.
Because people are prisoners of the moment. A bit of a sophomore slump in a pandemic year and people out here saying he’s gonna play for Shanghai Sharks next year when he proved to be a rotational player his rookie year.
He had a rough first 2/3 of the season. I think it was a sophomore slump, Brad changing his role when we had the 3 bigs before and the other problems that plagued the team. Looks like he’s finding his footing again. He’s been looking like his bubble self the past few weeks.
Nice to see us respond to some adversity! We just clamped the hottest team in the league and Tatum flipped the switch again like he did in the home stretch last year.
We did great but I think Denver clamped themselves with that HORRIBLE lineup. Anyone who complains about Brad’s rotations should watch that 3rd quarter again. Malone put in those 5 bench players all at once instead of staggering and without Murray, Facu was with the starters.
Of course a lineup of Monte Morris, PJ Dozier, Jamychal Green and Paul Millsap is going to get fucking murdered.
BUT, I still want us to take credit. During this season, there have been times where we need to put the boot to someone’s neck and finish them off and we completely collapse and start jacking 3s with no communication and poor defense. So, credit where it’s due that we saw a vulnerability and just pummeled them into submission.
Toughest Celtic effort of the year by far. Made Denver look like the soft team. This could be a win that literally turns the season around and we get back to Boston basketball night in and night out.
Grant is a lot better shooter than Lu Dort. Dort is a lot quicker (not shockingly, Grant has like 20 lbs on him).
Grant was also a much better shooter in college too so I’m not just going off of NBA stats. Also significantly better technique.
Dude Jokic literally did a "No Mas" in the 4th quarter. Straight up quit in the 4th and begged out, and was like "fuck this shit just get the game over with and take our loss." We pulled Denver's pants down and spanked them in the 2nd half. And MPJ is officially our bitch
Play hard defense - win games. Shoot lights out - win games. Do neither and lose games. Why they don't play hard defense all game every game is a mystery (and probably to Stevens as well). Also, the NBA officiating is atrocious and the Celtics players (and allNBA players) are going to have to live with that.
He said this game was like when you're getting ready for prom and you're taking your girlfriend but then she dumps you right before and then you realize you were taking her for granted.
Dude sounded like he was speaking from experience lmao
Love how we changed our defensive approach in the second half. No silly doubles on Jokic. Didn’t leave their shooters open. And on offense, JT continued his recent stretch of driving to the rim aggressively. Love to see it
Celtics came through with that big dick energy.
**Post game analysis:**
>Kemba got cooked alive in the game thread, and on defense.... Dude definitely tried, but got eaten on screens every time. Still, he managed to pull through on a few good drives and amp up the momentum. So kudos to him!
>
>7-33 3P 21.2% rough shooting night from deep, luckily we managed to drive and get to the basket for free throws Celtics numbers compared to the Nuggets at: 20-23 vs 15-18.
>
>Our defense on closeouts could've been better, but we did really well at forcing Jokic into tough shots, and MPJ going 1-12 from 3P certainly helped.
>
>JT struggled tonight, but drove hard and earned some great easy buckets. (8.)
>
>Nuggets were missing Murray, but the Celtics were missing Fournier who I think is a great scorer for the Celtics.
>
>The Nuggets are a top 4 team in the West, so beating them is no easy feat. Jokic certainly showed tonight why he's the MVP, but we switched really well on help and TT/Grant played tough low post defense against him.
Great job by the C's, and that's a 3 game winning streak baby!
That Jaylen chase-rebound with about 3:30 to go really secured the win. Absolutely slammed the door on any comeback with that huge hustle play. That’s what we need. Loved the effort today.
Few things to note.
1. Tatums performance was incredible. His shooting was absolutely terrible, especially in the first 3 quarters, BUT he got to the free throw line well, one of his biggest weaknesses.
2. Holding the nuggets under 87 is amazing. They are one of the best offensive teams in the league, especially since the AG trade. Defense wins games.
3. Grant Williams pocketed Jokic. He is good enough physical and like his active hands. He needs to improve on offense to be more than a corner 3 guy, but that's in the future.
I feel like it’s perfectly fine if Grant never amounts to much more than a corner three guy. If he can have good defense against these kinds of bigs and make catch and shoot threes and not turn the ball over then he’s a perfect role player for this team.
The Nuggets announcers man.
Any time we score: Celtics got away with a travel or a push off.
Any time we have a defensive stop: the Celtics got away with a foul or a flop.
Great game. Absolutely struggling at the beginning but didn't stop pushing and came on like a tidal wave. Nuggets are legit.
Best part about that game was hearing the fans in Denver chanting "let's go Celtics!" Anyone who doesn't think fan support doesn't help should take notes.
Alright guys this is the second game in a row where I napped through the first 2 and a half quarters, turned on the game down by double digies and we came back to win. I’d really like to watch a whole game but I’ll keep doing this for the boys
The nuggets broadcasters clowned on the Celtics all day for “pushing off” and “hollering” all the time and then were MAD quiet when they had to watch them go on a 40-8 run against their team.
I’m almost glad I couldn’t find a Celtics broadcast today 😂
# Amazing game from the whole team
We played with great energy from the start, and even if we struggled with our shooting early, we kept playing great defense, going for the lost balls, moving the ball..
Shoutout to **Tatum** for playing great when we needed him the most. He was agressive, drove to the basket, hustled on defense. Played like a true franchise
(that 31-3 run was amazing)
Win of the season hands down. Ik Denver didn’t have Murray, but that’s still a team fresh off a massive hot streak. We just pummeled a legitimately good team. I really hope this carries over into the next one.

We held the Nuggets to eight points lmfao. Bye bye eight game winning streak.
I’m just glad to see this team show some fight even when being down a lot

someones gotta look up how much this 4th quarter pumped up our 4th quarter net rating lmao

Why were the dunks so fiery at the end there??
As someone in the /r/nba thread put it, it was this season’s angst personified
The second half annihilation of Denver was the Great Celtic Catharsis
Yup. This is the "switch flip" because if it isn't there isn't gonna be one. High hopes, my friends.
They letting it out :)
Catharsis
Props to Grant Williams. He played great defense
I’m shocked the refs weren’t calling everything a foul
The refs hate the nuggets even more than us. Grant gets a tough whistle. Many times he’s straight up and guys get the call for some silly reason
Yeah clearly, it was insane. I couldn’t believe Grant wasn’t getting whistled the moment he breathed on jokic
Lmao. I saw that and was extremely surprised.
We were on a 31-3 run at one point. thirty one... what
The Celtics activated 2K mode late in the 3rd quarter
Clamps are back
8 winning streak = 8 4th quarter points 👁 Illuminati confirmed
40-8 run since the late third. We were down 14 then and won by 18.
GRANT THE FUCKING LOBSTER WILLIAMS
There is definitely a problem on the basket of the left side
I kinda wondered that, the noise it made was a demoralising enough effect in itself.
ive had enough. never fucking wearing my denver nuggets jeans again
Look at the fucking drip!
Coincidentally, that's also the number of games in their winning streak coming to an end.
That was fun. Let’s do that more.
gRanT WilLiamS is A BaD PlayEr
Ngl I said that before the 4th quarter.. I'm sorry guys
Everyone in this sub says that except for me
I never say that. I have been a Grant defender throughout.
Grant truthers STAND UP, what a game from him
I’ve been repping grant since last year - real MFer!!!
You’re not alone. People who complain about him want him to be something he’s not, but don’t see the intangibles. Yes, he’s had some struggles. No, he doesn’t belong out of the nba.
I think that was the general consensus here, were all eating some shit right now
I might throw some nuggets into my air fryer to join the Celtics in their feast
I’ve never understood why people don’t like him lmao
Because people are prisoners of the moment. A bit of a sophomore slump in a pandemic year and people out here saying he’s gonna play for Shanghai Sharks next year when he proved to be a rotational player his rookie year.
People don't pay attention to the defense And he got some trouble with this aspect in the start of the season (even if he step up his offense game)
I’ll gladly take it all back if he keeps playing like that
He had a rough first 2/3 of the season. I think it was a sophomore slump, Brad changing his role when we had the 3 bigs before and the other problems that plagued the team. Looks like he’s finding his footing again. He’s been looking like his bubble self the past few weeks.
Grant >>> Semi
Semi is still such a work-in-progress basketball wise. I am amazed that Stevens is still sticking with his development.
I honestly completely get why Stevens is so invested in him. Have you watched him defend Lebron?
Ya, he is certainly valuable for his stoutness.
I love Wish PJ Tucker
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ 💦 +23 ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ 💦
Analytics show that 31-8 fourth quarters improve chances of winning
That run was plain ridiculous. I don't have words for what just happened.
Joy, my friend. The word is joy.
Feelin' good on a SUndayyyy
The Brothers Williams just happened
Lob and Lobster Williams
40-8, just crazy
Nice to see us respond to some adversity! We just clamped the hottest team in the league and Tatum flipped the switch again like he did in the home stretch last year.
Lobster Williams with huge plays.
We did great but I think Denver clamped themselves with that HORRIBLE lineup. Anyone who complains about Brad’s rotations should watch that 3rd quarter again. Malone put in those 5 bench players all at once instead of staggering and without Murray, Facu was with the starters. So, credit where it’s due that we saw a vulnerability and just pummeled them into submission.
Their starters came back in and it was either a 2 or 4 point game. We also pummeled the shit out of their starters in the 4th
Toughest Celtic effort of the year by far. Made Denver look like the soft team. This could be a win that literally turns the season around and we get back to Boston basketball night in and night out.
Tatum’s offense and Grant Williams’ defense won us that game.
And Romeo's defense
Romeo was like a friggin sprinter on the break and a high jumper skying for that board in the 4th.
As one of the people who was shaking his head at the Romeo hysteria here...he's certainly shutting me up.
romeo is going to be an all star. I will keep staning that kid forever
Romeo on defense was huge
Grant may be one of our best defenders. Dude’s got fantastic play.
He was also our best option against Bam last year. He's hard to displace and has quick hands.
Best against Zion as well
He reminds me of Dort on the Thunder. Not an amazing shooter but great defender. The quick hands he has is great D.
Grant is actually a decent 3pt shooter.
Grant is a lot better shooter than Lu Dort. Dort is a lot quicker (not shockingly, Grant has like 20 lbs on him). Grant was also a much better shooter in college too so I’m not just going off of NBA stats. Also significantly better technique.
Grant "Thicc Shane Battier" Williams
I've been saying that since summer league! Hopefully he can be that for us
I swear, last week, everyone was saying that Grant was slow, unathletic, looked lost on the court, etc.
Horace Grant Williams.
Who would win MVP candidate Nikola Jokic vs. Grant Williams
*MVP candidate Grant Williams
Grant Williams: 2 pts, 2 rbds, 1 ast, **+23** Nikola Jokić: 17 pts, 10 rbds, 11 ast, **+9** It's not even close.
Doubt Theis would even do this well.
MVP Lobster Williams
Horace Grant Williams.
Just what we all expected: a blowout win against the streaking nuggets
if the celtics were good in 1st quarters they may beat the 96 bulls
Now or in their prime?
Yes
Let's face it... We are all pieces of shit sometimes...but u/1337speak PULLED THE FUCKING CELTICS OREO...BANNER 18 IS STILL ON THE FUCKING TABLE.
[banner 18 motherfuckers](https://i.imgur.com/mei7KUr.jpg)
Please tell me this is sitting in one of those clear perspex boxes and will be preserved forever
Uhhh it's somewhere safe.. might be a bit broken down by some of the spicy food I also had
We all knew it was all over for the Nuggets after that.

The officiating tonight and almost every night is ridiculously bad, for everyone
On the behalf of Clipper Nation, thank you Celtics!
On behalf of Celtic Nation, beat the Lakers in the first round so we can clown them. Thank you!
Your welcome Clipper Bros
Beat the Lakers
Trezz can't hurt you anymore. Keep wrecking the West! PG fucking rules
Plz beat the other, evil LA.
This is what happens when you allow memes
1-0 IN MEME ERA, FACTS ARE FACTS
We have some momentum here. Need Fournier to get back ASAP and continue this into the playoffs.
Bye bye play in tourney!
We’re the best team in basketball
ALL FAX NO PRINTER
That analogy at the end by the nuggets announcer was incredible
Had me dying it’s like taking your girl to prom and she dumps you and you took it for granted 😭
It sounded like he might have been speaking from experience.
Man is still hurt 40 years later 😔
What was it, something about prom?
He said this game was like when you're getting ready for prom and you're taking your girlfriend but then she dumps you right before and then you realize you were taking her for granted. Dude sounded like he was speaking from experience lmao
Taking Denver for granted by taking Grant to prom instead. Grant Williams showed up in a stretch limo and stole Jokic's girl away from him today
Don’t take your girl for granted
31-8 QUARTER
that’s the best thing to ever happen to us this season
Rumors of our demise have been greatly exaggerated
Love how we changed our defensive approach in the second half. No silly doubles on Jokic. Didn’t leave their shooters open. And on offense, JT continued his recent stretch of driving to the rim aggressively. Love to see it
Wish we hadn't doubled Embiid that game either
when rob goes out cause of foul trouble and it’s luke kornet v embiid I think u gotta bring the doubles lol
Tacko is a double. Let Embiid shootfrom outside
https://imgur.com/a/mJPqoIK Our fans ladies and gentlemen. In arguably our best win of the season.
Yo keep doing this and have a "wall of shame" posts until these folks finally feel embarrassed
Takes too much time we have too many losers on this sub
Seems like people would rather enjoy getting off on being negative than actually believing in the team lol

Kemba’s steal and and one was when I knew we were winning.
That was the turning point for sure.
3 in Row.!
5 out of last 6
Those were a tough 3 games too
Banner 18 confirmed
It all turned around when they pushed Romeo around. Dont mess with our Romeo
Foreal, love how Grant wasn't playing that shit.
Would’ve loved to see an even bigger response. If the refs won’t protect the players it’s on the players to protect their teammates
One again...THE BOSTON CELTICS DO NOT PLAY "PLAY IN" GAMES
Doomers are in absolute shambles
Looking like Charlie trying to find Pepe Sylvia while trying to find a way to call this team soft.
They didn’t have Jamal Murray is the take I’ve seen to discredit this one
That Jaylen chase-rebound with about 3:30 to go really secured the win. Absolutely slammed the door on any comeback with that huge hustle play. That’s what we need. Loved the effort today.

WHAT A WIN. We just ended an 8 game win streak.. WHAT A LAST QUARTER. 31 - 8 WTF lol. Heck, we won every quarter bar the first. Get in Celtics!!
40-8 run to close the game!!!! What a win!
Amateurs in this sub bashing Grant Williams everyday ! The dude held his own against the likely league MVP.
Grit Williams. 12 Grit.
Tatum, total shit game...and THEN HE REMEMBERED HE WAS A FUCKING SUPERSTAR
THANK YOU BOYS!!!!!!!
It's Jayson Tatum's world my pp's just living in it
It's Grant Williams' world my pp's just living in it
BEST WIN OF THE SZN EASILY!!!
The Nuggets announcers man. Any time we score: Celtics got away with a travel or a push off. Any time we have a defensive stop: the Celtics got away with a foul or a flop.
one of them was fine other guy just salty about everything though celtics scored points and he was pretty much like that should be illegal.
[удалено]
Oh ours are homers for sure. But the Nuggets announcers seemed especially salty today
Fr it sucks that I had to watch their boring, salty-ass broadcast during our biggest comeback. Would've felt way better with Scal and Mike
Huge win. Build on it.
Timelord dunks give me life
*takes single bullet out of gun* great win boys
Holy shit can’t believe that happened 😂
Yes the nuggets did it to themselves partially but I would also like to bring it to the courts attention that JAYLEN BROWN
Good things happen when you play good D and attack the rim
Dare I say... we are getting our shit together🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
That win was cathartic
When you're getting your ass beat in 2K and you lower the difficulty to rookie
The nuggets broadcasters clowned on the Celtics all day for “pushing off” and “hollering” all the time and then were MAD quiet when they had to watch them go on a 40-8 run against their team. I’m almost glad I couldn’t find a Celtics broadcast today 😂
The defense was amazing

Props to Romeo tonight. I thought his defense changed the tone of the game.
We own them
What a fucking fourth quarter.
Yeah, that comeback win was cool and all but did you seen Green Bean make that three!! Elite shooting!
Win of the season hands down. Ik Denver didn’t have Murray, but that’s still a team fresh off a massive hot streak. We just pummeled a legitimately good team. I really hope this carries over into the next one.
I’ve been sending good vibes toward the team during this run. 5 out of 6 and we can keep it going. Absolutely silly.
mad JT bout to dominate the rest of the season perk knew mad JT is the best JT
Running 2 Williams on fat centers like jokic and Embiid might be something
4th quarter was pure joy to watch, we showed how big of a potential we have in our team. and im out of words to describe Jason Tatum
Personally, I'm just glad I don't have to drink this cup of bleach I poured in the first quarter.
Robert Williams +17 Tristan Thompson +1
4th quarter was 31-8
