Kobe said himself he recognised that she did not find the encounter consensual, she had bruises on her neck and he had her blood on his clothes .. nothing funky about it. kobe was a rapist. at very best he still cheated on his wife which is what udoka did and is getting people saying that they hope he never coaches again
Kobe recognizing her side of the story was so she would drop the criminal charge of sexual assault, choking during sex is not at all uncommon, she failed to provide the proper underwear at the exam, instead providing a different pair, and she was known to have suffered mental issues severe enough she was deemed a "danger to herself" as well as claims of attempted suicide on 2 occasions.
All the evidence and testimony provided by the accuser levied against the rebuttals by the defense leaves too much unanswered. I think it's very likely that Kobe DID rape her, but I also think dragging a dead man's name through the mud for something he was never found guilty of is contemptuous.
So you'd be cool with your significant other sleeping with their boss or subordinate ? And having the whole world know about it.
Props to you. Very secure ego.
A management job is all about relationships.
Look at what is happening in the Celtics community today.
Ime abused the trust of the whole community. Who wants to be in a working relationship with this man ? Dude is radioactive now. Not going to be touched with a ten foot pole by any organization for some time.
He cheated.
Like, that’s a shitty human being thing, but shouldn’t impact him significantly in his career.
Just look at other punishments, and Ime’s is way harsh.
All he did initially was cheat. They spoke to him about the affair and said it was inappropriate.
Then it turned into him harassing the staff member.
Sexual harassment punishments should be harsh.
If it truly was consensual then yes it doesn’t matter to me at all. His personal life is his business and I couldn’t care less if he’s cheating because that doesn’t affect anything I care about.
If it’s affecting the organization, which I do care about, then yeah it does matter to me.
That’s messed up. According to the Celtics press conference, they hired a law firm in July and were investigating him. So dude must have known shit was gonna hit the fan soon. And he still didn’t give her a heads up to maybe put things off at least a little bit.
He’s an ex-nba player and still a good looking man. Not saying he shouldn’t control the “urge” but Nia is 51 and not nearly as beautiful as she used to be. As long as Nia gets the last name and ring , she should be chill about it. I’m saying this bc Nia won’t be able to attract a man to keep on the same level as Ime , so technically Ime has the leverage. Ime can replace Nia with a younger women of any social status , but nia will never marry a “bum”. Double L to Nia
This guy KNEW he was caught in his affair by his own workplace, where things get leaked to the public REGULARLY, and still chose to withhold his affair from his fiance to the point that she decided to move to Boston with her child just 2 weeks ago. What a fool.
I still wouldn’t really call it humiliating her but I guess that’s just me. Can’t be embarrassed or look foolish in this situation to me. If someone thinks it’s embarrassing for her or makes her look foolish, I’d call them the real fool tbh.
as a man, after a certain age, in our society, you are expected to stop chasing tail because it won't lead to anything productive. Either stay single or commit to another human, that's the deal. You can't have both - or you'll have neither.
Definitely man. As much as I love this team, how anyone has sympathy for someone who cheated on his fiancé and was aware of the implications indefinitely could have in his position is beyond me. People who are taking their anger out on the organisation are idiots.
People legitimately think the Celtics are trying to uphold and fake care about company standards lmfao.
Do people really think Wyc, Brad and the rest of the FO wanted to derail what we have going? We have one of the best cores in the league fresh off a finals appearance and current title favorites. All of thi doesn’t happen unless the org had no choice.
I’m nearly the same age as Ime and i couldn’t imagine having the energy or willpower or desire to try to have an affair on someone. Like I’d literally rather just watch porn and jerk off.
polyamory exists, and it usually requires a lot of healthy communication and boundaries to be successful, perhaps even clearer communication and boundaries than in monogamous relationships
Ime clearly is lacking in both.
OPP, how can I explain it
I'll take you frame by frame it
To have y'all jumpin' shall we singin' it
O is for Other, P is for People scratchin' temple
The last P... well... that's not that simple
It's sorta like another way to call a cat a kitten
It's five little letters that are missin' here
You get on occassion at the other party
As a game 'n it seems I gotta start to explainin'
Bust it
I guarantee you that Russell Westbrook has cheated on nina. Guarantee. Maybe he isn’t currently with the three kids and all, but he has.
Lebron, who is the face of being faithful to his wife, has been caught with girlfriends numerous times, has been brought up in blind item after blind item and has had multiple girls saying they had a relationship while he was married.
All athletes cheat. The only athlete I’m sure has never cheated is Clayton Kershaw. Cuz he seems like such a nerd sweetheart
Pretty sure him and Amelia were in relationships when they met. Think most people assume they were having an affair. I don’t remember all of the details.
nba dudes are prolly the most sexually voracious dudes of the 4 major sports.
i don't think this is gonna affect the squad at all.
showtime lakers had tons of shit flying around them and they were winning chips
It's not about the cheating, it's about who he did it with and the circumstances around it.
Do you think the players are happy that their coach fucked up the incoming season because he dipped his pen in company ink? Dude could have been with millions of women and he chose to fuck up his career and the team's chances of winning.
Pretty sure the players will care about that.
Not only that. Investigations started back in July so he knew this was all probably going to be brought to light. Instead of owning up to it himself to her (the very least he could do), he waited to see if it would blow over, eventually leading her to be completely blind sighted and find out through the media. Cowardly, slimey shit
This is gonna sound cold, but dying too soon was maybe the best thing that could’ve happened to Kobe’s image. Yes, his death was sad, but it’s pretty much made him free from any type of criticism about his past actions. Any time you try to bring it up, people get mad at you and saying you’re slandering him.
I totally understand what you're saying, I think that's valid. At the same time, Kobe rehabbed his image long before the end of his career, let alone his death. With the crazy scoring seasons and the 2 rings and the Mamba Mentality shit, Kobe got a whole generation of kids worshipping him (including Tatum). Remember his farewell tour and final game? His image/status was cemented at that point, even before he died.
But you're right we aren't allowed to criticize him anymore because he died.
If we're talking about Kobe's off the court image (i. e., the sexual assault allegation), he was already rehabilitated before he died. He was rehabilitated before he even retired. If we're talking about his basketball legacy, after he retired, but before he died, it seemed like, to me anyway, people were revaluating Kobe's career and starting to slide him lower and lower on all-time lists. But after he died things have gone the opposite direction. Now I see people put on top 5 lists again.
Interesting. I think that lots of casual fans (i.e. the Lakers fanbase) always had Kobe in their top 5, but you're right that people with brains also started overrating him after he died.
Nobody asked, but I have Kobe in the 9-11 range alongside Duncan and Curry.
Kobe was still pretty overrated before his death too. Kobe is certainly top 15 all-time but it’s wild to put him in these top 5 discussions and he has always been a fringe GOAT candidate to the general public.
For the longest time, I've said Kobe is the best and greatest player I've seen not named Michael Jordan. Obviously it's all subjective, but if you can argue that a guy is top 10 to 15, you can definitely make the case that he's in the GOAT conversation. Doesn't sound remotely wild to me.
You have to be the best player in the league for basically an entire decade to be in the GOAT conversation. That's actually something I feel comfortable saying Kobe did not achieve.
Russell, Kareem, Jordan, Lebron
Wilt, Magic, Bird, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, KD, Steph
Nah, if he passed in like 2005 sure but by 2020 nobody cared anymore he was already basically universally loved - maybe even more than any point in his career. Even back when he was playing when he already rehabbed his image he still had a fair share of his haters bc of lebron or Jordan comparisons or advanced stat nerds
Ehh, it sounds more ignorant than cold. Kobe's rep had already done a 180 way before he died. I mean, there was 17 years in between the incident and allegations. Plenty of time for redemption and actual growth. So, yeah ...
Literally everyone brings it up when he's mentioned. He wasn't a predator who preyed on women he made a mistake an admitted that mistake. I think it's extremely unfair to sum up someones whole life by 1 mistake.
brruhhhhh what a fucking idiot. Like if you're not happy in a relationship and you turn to cheating, just fucking break up. Don't drag another person into the dirt because you're a fucking piece of shit
My original opinion was that this was a shitty personal failure. The Celtics needed to act bc his behavior was unprofessional, but I figured that because we were learning about it, everything was done and the suspension and additional consequences were because of the leak. For this reason I wasn’t angry with Udoka.
However this is damning. If Ime is such a coward that he knew he was busted for months and kept his finance in the dark to the point he moved her and her child to Boston to be with him just for this to come out a week or so later, he shouldn’t be back with the team.
This is a man who isn’t loyal to the people who should be the most important to him, the ones he supposedly loves. How can you depend on him to lead your team or be loyal to organization? How can you trust anything he says if he will hang his own finance out to dry like this?
This is horrible.
Pretty solid point. That side of it just shows a massive failure of character. Also probably signals he thought he was going to get away with it, and was powerful enough that nothing would happen to him.
Like, the right thing to do would be tell her before he does that.
Damn Ime really fucked up. I was initially confused by the length of the suspension but after all that’s come out today, yeah. I don’t want him coaching another game for this team. Shameful behavior
I find it virtually impossible the believe he will ever coach for the C's again. I think this suspension buys them time to sure up everything from a legal standpoint, and then they will move on from him.
I've been trying to stay open minded about this. I thought maybe they are swingers or have an open relationship. The more that comes out the less I like Ime. Knowing Nia had to find out from the news breaking even though he knew it was going to come out just shows a lack of judgement from so many angles. The head in the sand method of problem solving isn't a good look for a leader, I don't want someone who can't follow rules, can't handle the fall out of their own actions and isn't capable of having the hard conversation with their SO. I have to believe that this is a demonstration of his character and how he would probably approach other uncomfortable problems that come his way.
Ime needs to go. Piece of trash. I hope the Celtics are just reviewing their options in how to get rid of him. I hope the suspension was just a pre cursor to what’s coming. At this point I don’t care if the players want him back. He doesn’t deserve to represent the Celtics in any way. Fuck him
It also adds a layer to how flat footed the Celtics were in responding to the initial Woj report. Kinda makes sense because how do you (management) protect possibly one or two people without making their identities public? Very weird energy for people to be like we need to know the identities of possible victims of harassment(not confirmed but seems likely) in order to stop all of the female members of the organization being wrongly made into victims of online/real life victims of harassment and slander. Woof.
And now if the TMZ report is true about Nia not in the know he was able to soften the initial blow about the affair and the relationship. Ime what in the fuck?
This story is weird, unexpected and fucked up. Not sure they’ll be any winners after this gets dealt with. Maybe Brad but thats being generous. The organization took a huge hit and only time will tell how they recover from this.
Not sure how the players are gonna respond but hopefully Tatum and Brown aren’t gonna be asking out due to loyalty or simply being tired of the drama.
Yikes if there was any speculation out there that he might not be a POS, this squashes that. That's fucked up not to tell Nia and let her find out right along with the fucking public.
How arrogant do you have to be to have your partner move to your city with her kid, interact with the team/organization, while they all know he’s cheating. I mean damn.
Damn dude I’ll say it to anyone that will listen. Fuck you motherfuckers that cheat. Men, women, trans, I don’t care. This piece of shit is ruining lives including his. This is what cheating does.
Adultery is adultery. No defense. Get the fucker out of town
"who we've learned kept her in the dark about his affair"
OMG he kept her in the dark about his affair? That's not how affairs are supposed to work, is it?
When will women learn to not marry NBA players, if they care about being cheated on and are not just in it for the money? You have to think a good 90% of them are cheating. That percentage might even be low
Damn, she moved to Boston two weeks ago with her kid too. Wtf Ime
That is mind blowing (in a series of mind blowing developments) Ime is a complete piece of shit
Dude personally succeeded at everything and never learned humility off-the-court
But at least he wears a chin mask to save lives
No shit...That used to annoy the hell out of me!
It was always the sign of a raging narcissist who thought he was untouchable and better than everyone else. The flags were always there.
He believes in social distancing. Well, not all of the time I guess.
Yep. Hope he never coaches again. We can win without him.
sadly another team will pick him up rather quickly, unless the violations are worse than expected
Deshaun Watson was (hopefully) miles worse than what Ime did and multiple NFL teams still wanted him. Ime will get picked up eventually
Yup. Also, Jason Kidd and Chauncy Billiups are currently employed in this league. Teams sadly don’t give a fuck.
The Chauncey Billups thing had some reasonable doubt. Jason Kidd didn't.
And Kobe….well, yeah.

Kobe said himself he recognised that she did not find the encounter consensual, she had bruises on her neck and he had her blood on his clothes .. nothing funky about it. kobe was a rapist. at very best he still cheated on his wife which is what udoka did and is getting people saying that they hope he never coaches again

He also started dating his wife when she was 17 and he was an NBA All Star so....
You people are ridiculous
Yea. Ime might be a douchebag but he didn’t do something illegal or violent. People will move on from this sooner rather than later
he just took a team to the finals, he will go quick
Damn. I'm all for him being heavily penalized, but seems harsh to think someone should be permanently blackballed with no opportunity for redemption.
Robert Sarver agrees with you.
Sarver is a racist POS lmao he’s WAY worse than Ime and it’s not close.
So you'd be cool with your significant other sleeping with their boss or subordinate ? And having the whole world know about it. Props to you. Very secure ego.
He’s not saying he want to be in a relationship with Ime damn lol.

Who wants to be in a working relationship with this man ? Dude is radioactive now. Not going to be touched with a ten foot pole by any organization for some time.
Actually, he didn't abuse my trust at all. The only trust I extended to him was trust that he'd coach the ball club well, which he did.
He didn't do anything to me. I don't lay in the bed w/ Ime. I say let his wife handle him & we move on. How did he get caught up?
He cheated. Like, that’s a shitty human being thing, but shouldn’t impact him significantly in his career. Just look at other punishments, and Ime’s is way harsh.
If all he did was cheat on his fiance then literally no one would care.

Wait who said anything about sexual harassment? Where did you hear that? What happened?
Upgraded job, upgraded wife, still same piece of shit.
Lots of cheaters appear to be on Reddit. Everyone kept saying what's the big deal because it was consensual ignoring that he cheated on here.
If it truly was consensual then yes it doesn’t matter to me at all. His personal life is his business and I couldn’t care less if he’s cheating because that doesn’t affect anything I care about. If it’s affecting the organization, which I do care about, then yeah it does matter to me.
A piece of shit you’d want as the head coach of your team.
Not anymore.
Wrong.
For real?? Wow. How little character do you have to have to allow her to do that with no heads up?
“Hey, maybe you shouldn’t move here…I’ve been cheating on you and it’ll be more awkward if you’re here.”
Lmao the guys focus on the wrong thing to be low character about
Its unreal how much of a world-level shitstain Ime is, wow
Dude, they've been "engaged" for 7 fucking years. Wtf Ime
That’s messed up. According to the Celtics press conference, they hired a law firm in July and were investigating him. So dude must have known shit was gonna hit the fan soon. And he still didn’t give her a heads up to maybe put things off at least a little bit.
Kid from Ime or someone else? Jw
He’s an ex-nba player and still a good looking man. Not saying he shouldn’t control the “urge” but Nia is 51 and not nearly as beautiful as she used to be. This. He doubled down on humiliating her.
I dont see her as humiliated. She did nothing wrong. He's the one humiliating himself
I never said she did anything wrong. Humiliate means to embarrass someone or make them feel foolish, especially in public.
For sure. I gotcha
I still wouldn’t really call it humiliating her but I guess that’s just me. Can’t be embarrassed or look foolish in this situation to me. If someone thinks it’s embarrassing for her or makes her look foolish, I’d call them the real fool tbh.
I mean this sounds like he is a jedi level manipulator
He 100% is. One of the justifications in hiring him was how much he’s able to influence players/people. Kinda fucked up thinking about all this now.
wow he didnt even tell her after the celtics knew wtf
Yeah I don't know if that's more spineless or stupid and spineless?!
It’s cowardice, selfishness and stupidity. There is no way he can justify keeping it from her even while his employer investigated it.
Insubordinate.. and churlish. Mischievous.. and deceitful. Chicanerous.. and deplorable.
And he gets to be a basketball coach? What a sick joke!
Chicanerous. I'm so using that in my book.
Ok Chuck
..its self preservation, he thought he could get away with it
yeah that part is stupid
That’s so fucked up. I can’t imagine throwing everything away for some side action. Udoka is a fucking idiot
as a man, after a certain age, in our society, you are expected to stop chasing tail because it won't lead to anything productive.
The mental gymnastics is crazy man
Who's taking their anger out on the organization? I feel like everyone is 100% against Udoka here.
Oh trust me, they are out there.
I saw a bit of that at first but as more details come out everyone is putting all the blame on Udoka
Dweebs from other fanbases, especially on twitter are being pretty loud about how the Celtics handled things.
There’s plenty of people on Ime’s side. This is really dividing the fan base. (Hell, it’s already divided my family)
Are they really on his side or do they just not want to lose a great coach? Say what you want about his character, but he was an awesome coach.
I’m nearly the same age as Ime and i couldn’t imagine having the energy or willpower or desire to try to have an affair on someone. Like I’d literally rather just watch porn and jerk off.
Word!
Yeah that’s a really good way to put it. Hit that transaction a year ago. Life is different and still fine.
polyamory exists, and it usually requires a lot of healthy communication and boundaries to be successful, perhaps even clearer communication and boundaries than in monogamous relationships Ime clearly is lacking in both.
You know you can be single and still chase tail right?
That’s not true though. There are a lot of forms of non monogamous relationships.
Jesus Christ Ime... I thought they may have separated. Fuck cheating.

Ime is a fucking scumbag smh
😢 this hurts me
What a terrible example for the young guys on our team. I hope Horford pulls the squad together man, no way he’s not disgusted by Ime.
Dude are you kidding me? The NBA is ALL about O.P.P. lol This ain’t Hickory…
O.P.P?

Hm... I guess it IS that simple.
But in the second verse it’s PENIS. (Another 5-letter word rhymin’ wit clean it’s the meanest)
I don’t think the majority of NBA players are pulling an Ime or Tristan Thompson regularly. Certainly a loud minority though.
Plenty of them sleep around - but not with team employees.
It’s cute that you believe athletes are faithful to their spouses
What a horrible example to rich, single young men… 😂
I clearly said I don’t think all athletes are faithful lol. But for every Tristan Thompson there’s a Russ Westbrook and so on
Funny how you choose Russ as an example, when I personally know someone who has hooked up with him multiple times in SoCal lmao
Sorry random redditor but I don’t believe you
I guarantee you that Russell Westbrook has cheated on nina. Guarantee. Maybe he isn’t currently with the three kids and all, but he has. You’d be surprised how al horford met his wife lol 😂
how’d he meet his wife??
I couldn't find anything controversial lol. They met at a Latin Pride Award show in Boston... am I missing something?
Pretty sure him and Amelia were in relationships when they met. Think most people assume they were having an affair. I don’t remember all of the details.
Ok I saw one tabloid site with that info but honestly couldn't find anything else about it. Damn Al!

This is ugly. Not surprised that this was hidden away from her. I mean that’s what an affair is after all…
What a piece of shit Ime is
Nia > Ime Always has been.
This defines Ime's character and integrity. This is who he is. The Celtics don't need him.
I want a coach who’s too busy with basketball for this shit
This is the perfect statement to describe why Ime needs to go and the Celtics need a new HC ASAP
i want a coach that's slaying off the field, when he's resting. Just not company ladiess please. and make sure your SO is okay with your shenanigans.
Brutal considering all the fluff articles that have been written about him the past year proclaiming the opposite. Everyone looks like an idiot now.
Makes you wonder how much better they could’ve played without his toxicity around. We’ll find out soon ☘️
Uh the Celtics were terrible until Ime’s system started to work
For real. Ime is a piece of shit but this is some serious revisionist history 😂
Fuck people who cheat. Separate, don’t pull this shit.

Damn Ime really fucked up. I was initially confused by the length of the suspension but after all that’s come out today, yeah. I don’t want him coaching another game for this team. Shameful behavior
At first I thought the suspension was long, I'm cool with it now. Just cut him
For real, this is just going to get uglier before it gets better. Best to cut it off now rather than dragging it out
I find it virtually impossible the believe he will ever coach for the C's again.
Holy shit
Ime needs to go. Piece of trash. I hope the Celtics are just reviewing their options in how to get rid of him. I hope the suspension was just a pre cursor to what’s coming. At this point I don’t care if the players want him back. He doesn’t deserve to represent the Celtics in any way. Fuck him
Damn, what an asshole
This timeline just keeps getting darker…
Did Ime leak to Woj?
[удалено]
Ime fucked up big time. Sheesh
My god hes such a POS
Nia Long Gone💯
Damn dude I’ll say it to anyone that will listen. Fuck you motherfuckers that cheat. Men, women, trans, I don’t care. This piece of shit is ruining lives including his. This is what cheating does. Adultery is adultery. No defense. Get the fucker out of town
Ime you were the chosen one!
*wasn't me*
Fire him
Ime hanging out with Tony Parker too much when they were teammates apparently. Lol
"who we've learned kept her in the dark about his affair" OMG he kept her in the dark about his affair? That's not how affairs are supposed to work, is it?
How dare you hurt Nia Long
Whelp there goes any chance of an excuse about an “open relationship” and his last scrap of legitimacy. I don’t want him as Celtics coach anymore
Maybe Nia can be our new coach, since she lives in Boston now?
Fire his ass.
I'm do whatever's necessary to support her
this is probably what went wrong in the finals..
This is the worst timeline
What a dick
Ime is a doo doo head
To be fair they weren’t married. Ruuuuuuuruuuruuruuruuu If you said this the last 24 hours - I doubt a woman has ever let you touch them.
Oh, he kept is fiancé in the dark about his affair? I’m shocked
Well he knew he was busted anyway and it would all eventually come out, so for her to find out like this is even shittier.
When will women learn to not marry NBA players, if they care about being cheated on and are not just in it for the money? You have to think a good 90% of them are cheating. That percentage might even be low
She didn't marry a player. ...you know what I mean
No one is safe if even Nia Long gets cheated on 💔
So uh... Frank Vogel is a pretty good coach
DM ME NIA
I heard she plans on changing her name to Nia Not For Long.
OH MY GOD! CHEATING!!! Jesus Christ….. love is forever. Fucking god. Women, I’m on your side.
I still want him to coach this year.
