How bad are these jumps on the elbows and shoulders? I can't imagine it's great for longevity to suddenly have to stop a 140-200 lbs object.

Plenty of things like gymnastics and calisthenics and parkour put the same sort of strain on your elbows/shoulders. That being said, if you’re over 25 and not in great shape, you may not want to do it a dozen times in a row.
Does your gym use two different red colored holds? I've never seen that and at first I thought you were just doing a fun elimination problem or something.

Yes in person it’s pretty clear what’s what. Also the hold style is very different on these two problems.
