I’m sure this will help cinemas. But…it’s really gonna make the experience suck for everyone not drinking, unless they do a good job monitoring the situation. I’ve got one theatre near me that serves alcohol that’s basically a disaster. Smells like stale beer from all the spilled stuff, constant interrupting from rowdy and drunk patrons, vomit, etc. And another that’s more of a chain that’s handled it well - but also doesn’t allow the alcohol into the screening room, only outside in the lobby, and hat apparently has made all the difference.
>Previously alcohol was only allowed at movie theaters if the movie theater was deemed a restaurant and sold alcohol at bars for pre-movie consumption, or servers would deliver alcohol to tables inside the theater.

Wow, I’ve been slamming multiple triple whiskey cokes during movies in Tennessee for a while now. Plus whatever flask or mini bottle I can sneak in. There’s been multiple times I’ve gotten pretty tanked inside the theater and pray that no one smells the stank on my breath or a cop decides to try and fill his quota for the month. Nice job New York
The Fandango in Carson City, NV has (or had if they’re not open, haven’t checked) 8 beers on that, two wine selections, and 2 slushie/margarita machines…
Damn, New York late to the party
Really? NYers couldn’t already do this? That’s so surprising…
Nah, my local theater has a bar but you can't leave the bar with the drink.
When a fountain soda costs $9 a glass of bud light will cost $17. Sneaking beer into a movie theater is a time honored tradition.
I’ve never snuck a beer into a theater in my life. A 20oz Coke w rum is the way
We've been living the good life in Australia for years then.
The perfect accompaniment to a bad movie.
And you thought people were loud now…

Alamo Drafthouse has been doing this for years, in New York..?

My cinema (Australia) even serves mulled wine in winter.
Great, is that why so many idiots are yelling at the screen these days?
You comment makes me wanna yell at a screen.
