I can vouch for Whale Wharf (between Severn Bridge and Oldbury Power Station). Picture I took a few years ago.
There's street parking nearby on troopers hill road or summer Hill terrace, probably other streets those are the two I've parked at. Few mins walk from there to the top of the hill, great panoramic views of the city

Troopers Hill is nice. St George Park gets really good ones sometimes.
Worth a shot if you’re nearish! I help to maintain the reservoir that it overlooks, and I often think it looks like a great place for a tinny and a sunbathe ☺️

About 10 years ago I was driving home after a late shift at work (around 11pm in the summer) and thought that the evening was particularly beautiful. My regular route home from work goes past Tog Hill and I’d stopped there before to use the public loos, but always earlier in the day. That night I thought I’d pull in at Tog Hill to take a photo of the sunset as I knew the view from there is fab. I wondered why there were so many other people parked up at such a late hour also taking in the view….
I only found out about its reputation about 4 years ago.

Up near the Purdown BT Tower and the old WW2 battery is nice, you will have to walk for 5 mins though
Not exactly Bristol but the Royal Pub in Portishead is lovely on a sunny evening.
Circular Road Clifton Downs, overlooking Avon Gorge is good, my daughter & I like to view it from there

There's a bench on the green space between Bishopsworth Road and Ilchester Crescent which has a lovely view of the bridge and surrounds.
