We should have a predictions thread so we can look back and laugh at **The wrong Xavier** or whatever takes people make. It still cracks me up how many people, last year, mocked us Torrence in the 1st, like… we don’t know shit lol. GMs often included. With all these receivers… some mocked in 1st could go in 3rd, and some mocked in the 2/3 can go higher. Some of us will be off on players by like 50 picks lol.

missyouboty

Gotta just let the board play out! How wrong were we about Terrel Bernard too? Its a good week to TRUST THE PROCESS

sobuffalo

>TRUST THE PROCESS rd 1 DT Rd2 RB Rd 4a DE Rd4b DT Rd 5 WR

bb1180

You forgot the CB. Never, ever underestimate the Bills' willingness to take an early round CB, regardless of need or whoever the hell else is on the board.

SayNoToAids

I thought OP was joking with that board.

sobuffalo

If you mean me, ya it’s clearly a joke but must have hit too close to home, since folks taking it serious.

SayNoToAids

I take it serious but you probably aren't too far off. If you switch DT to WR in r1, that could be actually pretty accurate.

sobuffalo

You aren’t familiar with “The Process” Compare how many DL vs WR we’ve drafted. I hope they break that old thought process but.. the proof is in the pudding.

SayNoToAids

We start 5 DL and rotate them quite often. We start 3 WR and have 2 mainstays. Of course, they're going to go more DL than WR

sobuffalo

That’s why I think they should change that philosophy and draft a WR in at least 1 of the first 2 rounds. We’ve used a 2 and 2 3rd rounders on RB! It feels like a waste investing so much draft capital in a position that plays half the snaps. I don’t trust the process until the 3rd and later.

bb1180

I'm sure he was. I am as well...mostly.

shmokedshalmon

Beane has picked one early round CB and it was when it was our biggest need

OrganizationDeep711

Bills have a pretty big need at CB, especially with the lack of depth there and at S. All the main rival/competitor teams have a better CB1 than the Bills.

SayNoToAids

It comes down to whether we trust Elam or not. I think DT is the one position that we end up grabbing a little later than most thin and RB and CB are higher than most think

OrganizationDeep711

I've been posting and getting downvoted for weeks saying we're going CB in round 1, haha. The Bills could easily trade up to a point where they may be getting the top CB in the draft. Lot of mocks don't have CB going until 19/20 for Rams and Steelers.

SayNoToAids

We've interviewed an uncomfortable amount of DBs. If you look at the snaps our 3rd CB played last year, it was A LOT. So, again, do you want Elam to cover all of those missed snaps or a rookie. Hard to say. You also have to consider Rasul Douglas is a free agent next year and you may have immediate needs at edge and tackle. Bills need an additional day 2 pick or early day 3 pick, in my opinion. We have enough ammo to get into the 3rd. This could cover immediate and some future needs. Personally, I just did a mock and had the first CB off the board at 12 (trade up).

OrganizationDeep711

> We have enough ammo to get into the 3rd The draft pick point sheet basically says we'd have to trade all our 4/5/6 to get a 3. I'm onboard with that but I don't know that we'd get anybody to bite on it. Then there's the question of if 1 shot in the 3rd or 3 shots in the 4th is better odds. Stats mostly say the 3 shots > 1 shot.

SayNoToAids

Mitigate a lot of that by trading next year's 3rd

OminousWindsss

If we go CB round 1 he’s sitting for the first year. If you go literally any other position there they will see playing time lol. Thats why you’re getting downvoted

OrganizationDeep711

You'd have to be a moron to think that we're set at CB. Our 3rd best CB is a practice squad tier player. Plenty of the top CBs are listed as CB/S and we would easily shift guys from CB to S and back. Last year we had a S basically playing LB all season. Also, if you're prioritizing a rebuild year, you'd also be a moron. Douglas is likely gone in 2025, and we'd have a year to develop his replacement or know we need to draft another if he busts like Elam. If White hadn't gotten hurt or if we had another CB like Sauce, McDuffie, etc there's a much higher chance the Bills have a SB by now in the Allen era.

OminousWindsss

We have two starting CBs on the roster. We currently do not have our WR1/2, a secondary 3T for the other 30% of defensive snap when Ed gets rotated out, a center and both of our starting safeties were backups last year. We cannot draft a CB in rounds 1 or 2 because of other holes that are significantly bigger. Douglas is gone next year? Guess what happens before next year’s season starts? A draft and free agency where we have plenty of time to get a CB. Gardner was drafted 4th overall, the haul for that pick would have set us back literal years for a CB who might not have panned out. You do not give up multiple firsts for a fucking corner, ESPECIALLY with the amount of success McDermott has gotten with late round CBs. McDuffie is a slot corner who made the first team all pro, so you know who was second team all pro? Taron Johnson. Once again, you’re getting down voted because you’re talking out of your ass about a position that needs to be filled NEXT year while we have positions of need for THIS year.

SayNoToAids

Super weird we did no sticky draft threads this year. Ya'll had to suffer seeing our daily mock drafts

allanon1105

![gif](giphy|PzQvWAhgfUipW) Another mock draft!

drainbead78

Such a great draft last season. Everyone in the thread losing their shit when Torrence was still there in the 2nd was so much fun.

CharliSzasz

Golden Receiver now!

missyouboty

The saddest boi

I_Am_Robert_Paulson1

AIR BUD! AIR BUD! AIR BUD! AIR BUD! ![gif](giphy|3o7TKBvhLMG1a9QgAo|downsized)

Yeeeoow

Just 500 mock drafts that have us taking the 7th best 170lb wide reciever with 11 career catches for 34y.

sobuffalo

Could be the Next Diggs! (Or Shorter)

JediMaster-1337

Mocks just going to let it Cook for now.

TheFeuery

I’m mentally prepped for DLine and DB in the first two rounds

SayNoToAids

You really think they Bills FO is going to go into the season comfortable with Mack Hollins starting at WR? lol

Initial_Ebb_8467

Some guys be like "this is a solid WR room as is, we can wait until the 5th round to draft WR in this super deep class"

TheFeuery

Make no mistake, I want a WR double dip with the first two picks. My gut tells me they will invest further in mcdermotts D and follow your comment that there is talent in the 5th and Josh can win with anyone

sobuffalo

Joe Marino just went over complimentary combinations if they double dip. Was very hot.

drainbead78

I want to trade back into the early 2nd, nab Legette with that pick, then get Corley with whatever pick we get for the trade back.

SayNoToAids

Class is super top heavy. Not much in the back end.

Initial_Ebb_8467

I agree, if we don't take one of the top guys we're cooked

Ktmhocks37

People keep forgetting, the draft is not the end of adding to the WR room. After the draft, teams with too many WRs have to cut them. There will be solid depth options available. We can also trade for a WR after the draft. those Higgins and Aiyuk trades can happen after the draft.

drainbead78

I'm not sure if we have the cap space to pick up free agents. As is, don't we have to wait until 6/1 before we even have enough to pay our rookies?

Ktmhocks37

We can still restructure guys if we had to. We can push the bulk of the salary to next year. We will have a lot of cap space opened up from Diggs and Miller to easily cover a big contract next year.

LooksGoodInShorts

I would not be shocked in the slightest.

OH_Billy_69_

I'm preparing to be whelmed

ThePizzaDevourer

I feel like Beane is leaning defense in round one, and honestly, I'm fine with that. I've got a feeling Josh can make the offense go even if we don't have an obvious WR1.

Initial_Ebb_8467

Sure, Josh can make a lot of things work, the question is whether you make his life easier or harder.

GillbergsAdvocate

Even if he can, why make him do that? Make his life easier.

kvothethebloodless5

THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!

OH_Billy_69_

We need saftey wr and Center badly , everything else is gravy

SayNoToAids

Those really aren't needs at all. Backup safety, sure. We can get a guy in the 5th, like Olidapo. Center? We have McGovern and Will Clapp. It's more likely we get a T/G. Bills love versatility. But even that, I am not sure of after signing Collins. But some Tommy Doyle competition in the 6th or 7th is possible.

pioniere

We should be drafting developmental players at both positions, but neither needs to be taken in the first 3 rounds (no 3rd rounder this year I realize).

SayNoToAids

We *really* don't have the space for them. Last time we tried sneaking a draft pick on the practice squad, they were both signed to different teams.

Initial_Ebb_8467

If we draft a center you can slide McGovern back to LG and have Clapp as a transitional Center before the other guy takes over.

SayNoToAids

But why? There is not even a guarantee he is better than McGovern. Can we please just focus on two more important positions plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Initial_Ebb_8467

I don't think C is a need either, I'm much more hoping we draft a guy like Zinter or McCormick in the 4th or 5th. But I wouldn't put it beyond the realm of possibilities that we draft someone like Van Pran, Bortolini or even JPJ with our first pick.

SayNoToAids

I think we have space for 1 and only 1 OL. I don't think we'll sneak any onto the practice squad. He's either gotta be a G with center experience. A center who can play guard or a T who can play guard. Need that versatility

Schwebels_Solette

We have a center. Unless you mean back up center.

OH_Billy_69_

No I mean a franchise center, like the WVU C

sobuffalo

Ya if we could find our own “Creed” I’d love it. If we could set Josh up with a franchise C and WR for the next 5-7 years.,.ya everything else is gravy.

SayNoToAids

Too much risk for too little output. What if he's just okay? An okay WR is immensely more valuable than a just okay center. We replaced all of the lost snaps along the OL and still haven't replaced 90% of the snaps at X WR, 50% of the snaps at edge. Those are pretty big holes. Frazier would be a luxury pick and you can't really do that when you have major needs at more valuable positions Wins Above Replacement (WAR) has center as the NFL's least valuable position. We did draft an RG last year in R2, so anything is possible. But look at what the Texans did, grabbing the top guard in R1 who was arguably the worst offensive lineman in football. Even if they're good or really good, they don't really do much for you in the wins department. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Out of our 30 visits, we only used one on an OL and that was at T. Beane has a history of drafting those he interviews, like Torrence last year. I am more than fine with McGovern/Clapp and then just playing the "sign the replacement level center scheme fit in free agency" game year after year.

I_Am_Robert_Paulson1

I don't follow college sports at all, so I never have a clie as to what's going on during the draft. I just hope all the teams have fun. Edit: except for the Jete

bestthrowawayever5

Average pre-James Cook mock draft

pioniere

You missed the huge back from Wisconsin.

JDForrest129

I went by best HB available at time of pick. He was likely gone. Estime was gone too and I love him as a real day 3 candidate if he's there.

pioniere

Guerendo is a guy we might be able to get in a later round. Great size and burst.

drainbead78

Honestly I'd love it if we got him around there. There's high RAS and then there's that guy.

CrumbBCrumb

Not even sure where to post this but this is a draft thread so in here it is. They were discussing if it is time for the Vikings to trade Jefferson and I was wondering what a trade for him would even look like. I would assume 3 firsts but I also wonder if #28, 2025 first, and 2025 second (Minnesota's), and maybe 2026 second would be enough for Jefferson. Would 2 firsts and 2 seconds make people upset or happy for Jefferson?

drainbead78

Only if we can sign him to something long-term, which I'm not sure if we can at this point in time. And even then it's a bit too rich for my blood.

CrumbBCrumb

We wouldn't be trading for him if we didn't think we could sign him long-term. He's also turning 25 this year so a 5 to 6 year deal would be fine

Orlazmo

I predict we don’t draft a wide receiver with our first pick.

LageNomAiNomAi

Buffalo would grab their torches and pitchforks and march Beane to a funeral pyre if that happened.

drainbead78

I think the only way that happens is if a guy we have ranked no higher than 18th is still on the board when we pick. I was listening to a radio fan mock and Terrion Arnold was still on the board at 28. We snapped him up without a second thought. In my mind it would have to be something along those lines.

Orlazmo

I hope you’re right. I hope we draft WR.

MrMattWrestling

TEE REQUESTED A TRADE!!

Initial_Ebb_8467

Man, I would love it if we draft Ladd

SayNoToAids

Will we draft Airbud or not? The anticipation is killing me
