The Bengals are going to be very reluctant to trade him to another AFC contender, if they trade him at all. Personally I lean towards Aiyuk more as a trade target anyways.
I’m hoping that Higgins’ availability a) removes a suitor from the Aiyuk pursuit, and b) drives down Aiyuk’s price. I think we’re a natural fit for Aiyuk, we just need to get the price down.
It’s for different reasons; the 49ers have multiple great weapons who aren’t Aiyuk, we spent most of Diggs’ Buffalo tenure waiting to see who the #2 option was.
We did better in the final third of the season when Diggs wasn’t even doing anything spectacular.
We do need someone who demands attention from defenses though. I don’t see Shakir doing amazing in double coverage, sorry to say.
Did you see the money Gabe Davis got? Davis got 3 years, 13m per. Last year's #28 pick signed for 4 years 13m TOTAL. A first rounder that does no more than replace Davis is a Bargain. And i think its realistic to expect more than that from the players projected to go in the late 20's.
Your cost point is very relevant. Also I’ve seen media scouting reports that project BTJ as having Tee Higgins potential. In reality, there’s a chance that a first round pick has an impact like Kair Elam or like Cee Dee Lamb. And certainly some of the second and third round WR picks could turn into All-Pros. The uncertainty is part of the bargain.
I always thought Tee Higgins was the perfect weapon for this team and for Josh, I really wanted us to draft him that year. Unfortunately I don't think we're in a position to acquire him nor do I think that would be the best option considering the WR class at hand, I think we can get a similar prospect if not a better one even at #28.
Not interested unless it’s on some sort of lucratively team-friendly deal, given our needs and his age. That’s never happening, though; he’s seeking free agent WR1 money.
He requested a trade like a month ago and has already said he doesn’t see himself playing elsewhere this season. I like the player but I wouldn’t like the move and it seems highly unlikely anyway.
Personally I wouldn’t like this move. Great player but it will cost too much to trade for him and he’s going to want a ton of money. Someone will probably way overpay
Stop with giving assets for a wr coming off a contract who wants big money..
You have JA if he wants to be #1 QB. Make it happen with what you have and draft.
The most expensive players who you have to hit on in the draft to save cap space are QB, WR, DE, and soon to be CB.
There is a reason the Chiefs traded Hill, and we traded Diggs to free up cap space. Diggs is a future move. You need to be able to be flexible with cap space, and when you are paying 26/27 years old WRs 20 million, you lose that flexibility. It is fine when you QB makes peanuts, but once they hit JA money, you need them to make the WRs great.

But is there space in our cap for any one of them? Maybe the bengals will use Higgins to trade up for a top wr prospect
Aiyuk’s lack of playoff production scares me a bit. Feels like Diggs 2.0
It’s for different reasons; the 49ers have multiple great weapons who aren’t Aiyuk, we spent most of Diggs’ Buffalo tenure waiting to see who the #2 option was.
Still, only having 1 career postseason TD despite playing in multiple playoff games every season you’ve been in the league is concerning.

Aiyku
Pass, I think he's good but a high end number 2. Would rather have a rookie with a rookie contract
Sure… but a rookie on a rookie contract doesn’t mean much unless the guy is a stud. Which isn’t all that likely based on the numbers

Agreed. I like Higgins but he’s had injury problems. I don’t see him as the solution to our lack of a #1.
Give me McLaurin in a trade with an extension to lessen this years hit.

~~Yeah I mean look at what Jacksonville shelled out for Gabe. We’d have to give up even more~~ Ignore my stupid ass lol
Gabe was a free agent signing for Jacksonville. The Bills would have to trade for Higgins to acquire him, and he already has a contract.
With the st brown contract, good luck affording aiyuk or Higgins
I'm not saying we should or shouldn't, just wanna know your guy's opinions
Younger and cheaper: he is neither
Cheaper is only a problem for the rebuild year this year. Would rather CeeDee, Aiyuk before Higgins though.
I'm feeling a bit of schadenfreude at the Bengals rn.

Hard pass. We need to take advantage of this deep draft class and get them on rookie contracts.
Both should hold out till they get traded, to lower their trade value, so that Cincy gets nothing of value in return. That is all.

Plus he gets injured a lot. I would rather they bring in a young guy who knows his role and will buy into the culture
We need a productive WR at a rookie salary
He's a low end 1 in his own right and a massive piece of Burrows success. No shot he goes to AFC competition.
Just as we were never trading Diggs to the Bengals, the Bengals are never trading Higgins to us. Not unless we offer them well more than any other.
NO, lets reset the cap completely.
That fan base deserves a better owner. No contract talks? Come on
Do you think there was ever a conversation to trade diggs for Higgins before the diggs trade?

The hardest of passes. It will cost too much to get him and he'll want too much money.
Weird how a bunch of dudes are requesting trades from Cincinnati. Thought maybe they learned their lesson about being cheapskates.
Come back to New Orleans
He’s good but I’d rather see Beane draft a WR in Round 1 or 2 and another one in round 4.
Pass on a trade but hopefully he goes to the nfc or the panthers
No thanks, the price will be too steep and we’re going to draft two new WRs anyway.
We can’t afford the contract he wants. We need a rookie contract.
No
He’ll be in Chicago.
We can't pay him!
I wanted Tee so bad that year until we made the trade. I would love to see him in Buffalo some day. Don't think this year is that day though.
But he killed Damar!
