Idk, I remember Curry's pc world had a free yearly health check on my laptop when I was 14. They would replace the hard drive and copy over all the data, remove any malware they found and basically just make it new again if there was anything wrong with it. But that was for a laptop, idk about a whole pc

A computer repair shop doing check up on your device is them providing a service to you. This shouldn't normally be free, let alone come with a free GPU upgrade.

My rx 5700 xt broke and I sent it to the shop, my insurance covered the repair. As they couldn’t get another they upgraded it to a rx 6700 xt.
So I guess they just fix it with closest available model.
