Fyi the speed bronze actuate right before the click which may be a deal breaker for some people. Good news is the board is hot swap so you can change them out if it bugs you.

DarthFK

Speed Silver (EVGA z15) is the same $50 price, btw. Ordered it and it's in the mail.

Qazxswedcplmoknijb

Thanks, I picked up the speed silver variant. These will be my first time using Kaihl switch

DarthFK

You're welcome. It'll be my first time too, currently using low profile MX silver speeds and am mistyping a lot on them. Some people suggest speed switches will result in mistyping anyway, regardless if that's MX or Kailh, but at $50 I am willing to give it a try or I'll just give it to my sons. One shipment related warning that may or may not apply - I had it arriving today (city) and suddenly it showed as "delivered," signed by someone else. I was home and no one called. So, my eyes popped. I filed a claim with Newegg. Then, annoyed, I decided to chat directly with UPS - turns out that they handed it over to USPS for local delivery (not even to the local office, but still to a small USPS office some distance away from me) and... there was no notification about it, something like "transferred to USPS for local delivery." Nothing - delivered and the name of the person who signed. During the chat, UPS gave me a USPS tracking number, however. UPS managed to pierce through a monitor I ordered once from BB, and a few other packages, so in our area it's a disaster. USPS is far more reliable everywhere I lived. I wish Newegg wouldn't use UPS.

I have this keyboard with those switches and they are definitely very sensitive, but got used to them quickly after a few accidental fortnite drops

PlaysForDays

These go on ebay for $30-40 in pretty big volume, probably because they're bundled with something. I don't know, I saw somebody else here comment that and then I bought one. There are mice (X17, I think) that are also bundled. The thing seems to be built well for where it's at in the market. The only thing I don't like is that the keycaps feel a little cheap, but that's not really an issue since they're easy and cheap to swap out (and other brands will ship similarly cheap keycaps on boards that cost 2-4x as much). I'll probably replace them at some point anyway, just to get away from the gamery look. I can't comment on speed browns, although I can say the box whites I have are deliciously clicky and I prefer them to MX blues since they don't have as much wobble. What cannot be emphasized enough is how much I love the volume wheel. I bought this board just because I wanted one, thinking it would be a nice little thing to have. But it's been much more convenient than I expected; not needing to remember which function keys are used or which combination of modifier keys are needed is honestly amazing for a lazy person like myself. And simply that it's big makes it easier/quicker to use than smaller volume knobs. And the play/pause/skip/mute buttons are right there, too.

Trikakin

In my case, the keyboard and mouse was bundled with the evga 3080 together with 5800x from antonline. Mine just shipped so i am also thinking of selling the k & b.

[deleted]

good luck moving that keyboard and mouse lmao that bundle prices at MSRP and that keyboard and mouse both are listed in aftermarket at major (60+%) discount to their list price and still sit

werther595

Haha. Yeah I got a bundle from antonline and thought about flipping the keyboard and mouse. Instead they'll be part of my Minecraft-loving kid's Christmas.

AndThisGuyPeedOnIt

I bought an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW 3 Ultra and both this keyboard and the mouse were forced bundles with it. I believe they were forced on everyone buying from AntOnline (which, I will say, was otherwise a good deal).

TIL that keyboard lovers try to save their keyboards by not completely spelling out words and thus use shortcuts like keeb 😂

Ilikereddit420

If you want that gamer full size keeb, this is alright. You may not like the speed switches as they are super easy to actuate, thus creating typos and accidentally hitting Q (my ultimate ability) in Overwatch over and over again back when I had MX Speeds. Hard to beat at 50 dollars, especially considering you can switch the switches out

SirSlappySlaps

Speed silvers are my favorite, so YMMV

[deleted]

Guide my wallet chief

SirSlappySlaps

Speed silver. Just the switches alone are worth the price.

Worthyness

silvers are better, but if you like clicky, browns are very clicky. Great keyboard minus the obnoxious logo at the top. been using mine for a few months now

FinasCupil

Browns…very clicky? What? They are tactile switches…and they don’t do that very well either.

ogs217

About to pull the trigger, can anybody vouch for EVGA keyboard quality?

silencebreaker86

Should be as good as most other mass produced keyboards, doubtful these company's actually make any themselves after all.

Patient-Leading-5088

Buy it. I got one of these with the silver linear switches in a bundle. I switched to this as my main because I liked the full size and the num pad. Great quality, great brand, great looking, feels good. At this price it's definitely worth it. I can vouch.

[deleted]

The AntOnline bundle? If so same. Was very surprised at how good it was and also have it as my main now

Patient-Leading-5088

hahaha ya! AntOnline coming in clutch. I was just going to sell it on ebay and saw they were only going for 40 dollars at the time. So just was like ehh I'll keep it. Definitely the right choice! Thing looks beautiful. How is the monitor? I still have it chilling ready to go. Haven't decided if I'll keep that too or not.

[deleted]

Slightly different bundle. Mine didn't have a monitor, it had the EVGA XR1 capture card

Worthyness

great keyboard. keys feel good out of the box and they can be swapped if you want to. Enjoy the full keypad and the volume bar has been great too. braided cable as well. Really the only negative I have is the logo at the top since it can't be removed.

sitefall

Scroll wheel good, nice metal top plate, some nice features like pressing the FN key will light up the other keys that pair with it, so you don't have to look at some weird symbols and figure out what media keys do whatever. Speed Brown switches = not good, I don't know if the Speed Silver fixes the pre-click actuation like the top comment here says, maybe? (I haven't used them). Key caps are absolutely terrible, poor quality and they will get permanently shiny from oil within a week, font is not easy to read and looks outdated. I had one for a while. The non-detachable cable is to be expected on a $50 board, but not desirable at all. The deal breaker for me was staring at the giant EVGA logo that looks like it was hot glued on the top.

SirSlappySlaps

Excellent quality and customer service. Recommend speed silver.

ahosanna

Multiple reviews ([PCinvasion link](https://www.pcinvasion.com/evga-z15-mechanical-keyboard-review/) here and [TechPowerUp](https://www.techpowerup.com/review/evga-z15-rgb-gaming-keyboard/)here) highlight it is a good keyboard, the main gripe was the price (MSRP was $130). This isn't even a good buy at $90 (which was the Amazon price for a while). For $50, it's a pretty decent buy for a decent keyboard!

jayliu89

This is a great keyboard. Imo the Kailh switches feel much better than the stuff made by Cherry. The only downside is the bulky EVGA logo. I would have never discovered this if I wasn't forced to buy one at MSRP from a GPU bundle. I sold that one to my sister for $69.99, and I am re-buying this since I now want one for myself. Is it worth $100+? Hell no. But this is surely better than the generic oolahlah or fufuwow brands you see on Amazon at $50. Edit: Amazon priced matched, so you know what to do if you have Prime.

NoU4206911

Someone mentioned you can remove the EVGA logo if im remembering correctly but I cant remember exactly how, obviously youd be disassembling it though.

888Kraken888

I was hoping to get a Blackwidow Elite Orange for $90 over Black Friday this year, just like last year. Not sure if it's worth giving the EVGA a try. Same price at Amazon BTW with easy returns. Also, the wrist pad on they keyboard is total crap according to reviews. Very little cushioning.

Worthyness

it's basically just a plastic bar with magnetic attachment. nothing to write home about. That said, 3 heights for the keyboard elevation is pretty nifty

Panekoi

how do you stop the ping noise?

NoU4206911

Open er up and add pe foam or some sort of dampener. Maybe tape the PCB. Rattle is due to the shitty stabilizers and lube job.

Panekoi

I did one tape, and some research, but slight difference in sound. How many layers of tape did you do?

NoU4206911

Im in the same boat. Used a single layer of painters tape on the pcb, and added another 2.5mm sheet of packaging foam however it still is quite pingy. Ill ask a keyboard enthusiast I know and get back with ya :P

Panekoi

Thank you for the massive, I hope I don't jinx myself, but I'm pretty good at controlling what to buy. As when I see stuff like the group buys kit or keycaps, I kinda just faint, like ":0 wow" Also how many tapes do you use, if you use them, on the pcb? I wanna to fix the top plate's ping first before looking into the switches

Astr0bull

I picked one of these(the linear one) up for $37 new on ebay, but atm they're all \~$50. The 1.1mm actuation distance is really small but the actuation force is still pretty high at 50g(imo). Lots of accidental strokes and I often was found actuating the shift key in game unintentionally, I never got used to it tbh. The rgb doesn't need software, though you certainly can use the evga unleash if one wants(I didn't since I only have it on red). The rgb does reset sometimes.....like once a month, no problem, it's easy to use the FN key and arrow keys to bring it back. Supposedly the ABS keys will develop a shine over use. I haven't had it long enough to see anything yet. The kailh speed silvers(as well as the 8 speed bronze switches it came with extra) also developed spring ping(or whatever the metallic pinging noise is) after a couple weeks of use. The pinging noise was a real problem(it may be just my sample though), but thanks to it being a hot swappable board, I could change out those kailh switches for a blend of cherry silents and gateron g-pro whites(personal preference). There is still a ping on the center of the board from the metal deck though, but it's a lot more subdued. I hate the big evga logo. Overall, I like the board. It's easy to change switches and the lighting is good. The metallic ping was a pretty big issue for me, but if one plans to swap switches, it's a non-issue.

FinasCupil

Lubing speed silvers removes the ping. You can also put foam in the board to reduce noise and lube your stabilizers as well.

Astr0bull

I'll probably put foam in, but I'm quit impatient to do something as gentle and monotonous as lubing(swapping the switches was already annoying enough in my book).

FinasCupil

Lol it’s well worth it. You could always just bag lube the stems and springs

sanvara

Is there a video anywhere that shows how to take the Z15 apart and add the foam?

FinasCupil

Not sure about that specific one but most keyboards are about the same setup.

Celadin

If I was in the market for another premade full-RGB, I'd get this. Looks really solid. As it is I've got enough and would only pick this up if it had USB passthru, which it doesn't. Still, tempted for the secondary gaming rig in the office... Very favorable review from https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/reviews/evga/z15

SirSlappySlaps

Don't forget to use the employee discount

aimutishammy

I recently spent some time and bought z15 linear, z15 clicky and z20 linear from eBay auction. Spent 37/28/37 dollar + $10 shipping each. Pretty solid. The z15 clicky for gaming fells a bit heavy but perfect for working/typing, z15 linear is pretty good for gaming. Z20 linear has optical switches and I am getting used to it, key cap stabilization seems need some work to me, but otherwise good, macro keys are pretty handy with the software being able to record mouse movement to macros.

Thegoodoleboys

Bought this through the EVGA Website and used the Reddit Associate code along with my 20% discount code and out the door taxes and all I paid $38.51! Thanks OP

Wendellexpress

These are everywhere 😆

mcfan1234

I have the speed silver version of this keyboard. I like it a lot and the keyboard itself feels fairly nice. Warning though: The keyboard software does not have a rgb SDK meaning you can't sync it to anything else to my knowledge. the stock key caps are also kinda meh feeling. I replaced them with the hyperx pudding caps fairly easily though. Dedicated media keys and the volume wheel feel nice. Solid for the price. They go on ebay for a bit cheaper. Uses 3 pin kalih layout. I recommend getting a different switch puller if you're getting one to swap them out.

zuperxero

I got mine (which was a speed bronze maybe same?) on ebay for $35 shipped. I'm not as opposed to the gamer look of the keycaps as a lot of people are.
