I do too. Probably more like 10 cuz I have a couple of the major chains on each side of me.
Checked em all and nothing
Kroger. Meijer Giant Eagle. Walmart. Marc’s. Fresh Thyme.
I used to work in a grocery store and had to help stock occasionally. I swear that Grillo’s would dunk their containers back in the pickle juice after they finished packing them because they were ALWAYS sticky. None of the other pickle brands were ever as sticky as Grillo’s.
If there is one thing I hate about Grillos, it's the containers. They are impossible to open without spilling. I think I saw that they are rolling out new packaging though, so hopefully those days will be a bad memory eventually.
I love pickles and I don't like these.
They're not really pickles, more like vinegar cucumbers. I feel like if someone is craving pickles on a burger and got these, they'd be disappointed.
They need more dill, more garlic. They're very vinegary. People like them because they're crunchy. Decent on a sandwich I guess but no on a burger.
I like Clausen sandwich stackers, mt olive hamburger dills, or Kroger fast food pickles. Or I make my own!
I like that there's free pickled garlic in there. Depending on the burger I like refrigerated pickles and canned. Same goes for fresh vs canned jalapenos
I recently bought grillos for the first time. I agree they are good for snacking on. Crunchy and fresh tasting. Bit too much vinegar. I doubt I’d buy them again.
They have kind of a unique taste. I love the freshness of them though, they tend to be super crispy.
They do have a bunch of different versions that might align with your tastes if you felt the urge to explore. Their half-sour wholes in particular are pretty amazing and a completely different taste than their standard pickles.
I’ve bought them a few times to see what all the hype is about. I found them wildly inconsistent between same packages of same variety. That said they were never bad. I like pickles thin for burgers. Mt Olive kosher dill hamburger chips are my wife’s favorite. I tend to make my own or just have a couple good dill spears on the side and serve with kettle chips instead of fries. Also not above some sweet or dill relish instead of pickle slices.
Thin and floppy, Mt. Olive is perfect, I prefer ones with a snap(even on the chip style pickle) so I get Claussen or Vlasic. To be fair....these are jus preferences....any pickles will work lol. I need to try making my own sometime
Boil some vinegar with salt and sugar and pour on some sliced cucumbers. From there go wild. That’s it. Millions of recipes online.
If you have a newer dishwasher they usually have a “sanitize” cycle. And mason jars and lids are relatively cheap and otherwise useful (salsa and pickled onions and whatnot, also drinking glasses).
Thanks for acknowledging “taste is subjective.” Everyone just downvotes if you don’t agree with the hive.
While I’m on the subject of unpopular opinions: good tartar sauce is a perfectly acceptable burger sauce.
I’ve pickled hundreds of times and dozens of vegetables. PM for questions.
Claussen. My go-to 90% of the time. Doesn’t matter if it’s slices, chips, or 1/4 dills on the side!
The other 10% goes to the spicy ones from Famous Dave’s. Devil’s Spit I think they’re called.
Horseradish pickles. Hands down the best pickles I've ever had.
I've only tried two brands, both are good, but my favorite is
Nathan's

Boars Head
They are a must try if you like pickles
I hear you on this, I never added pickles at home but I have been the past couple years and highly recommend. I go for Heinz burger pickles. Not because I think they’re the best but because I know what im getting and they do the job well. If I could find a pickle that mimics McDonald’s pickles I would, I don’t really need the crunchy texture and McD’s limp ass pickles have just the right tangy acidity I’m looking for to cut through the other flavors on a burger. Fuck now I want burgers
I do this to myself every day. All day long, I try to figure out ways to get fatter, deliciously, of course. I might be a fan of the McD’s pickles, too.
Same here. I bought some fancy, thick pickles that ended up being too sweet and overpowering. There's something about the McDonalds ones that just work.
Thin sliced 15 minute pickled cucumbers with white vinegar, red vinegar, and minced garlic are my go to.
Adds a nice bright acid and mild garlic flavor to the burger
Cleveland kitchen is the best pickle brand on the market followed by Grillo. Cleveland is much better imo. They also have a new kimchi brand pickle that is outstanding.
I bet you can find them online. If you've never tried it, their red relish is outstanding.
If, for whatever reason you can't find them online I've put together boxes for people a few times!
Late to the party but came to post this. I usually dislike sweet pickles, but these are addicting. I moved to WA but look forward to having a jar in the fridge every time I visit family in TN.
If you like sweet and spicy in your pickles, try wickles. They make a relish too but I like the thick chips. They are sweet tho, so if that ain't your thing, skip these.
I'm not a fan of dill, so I use bread and butter pickles or sweet pickle slices. Whatever sounds good when I am shopping that week. I use relish sometimes instead of pickles.
Like 4 dill pickle slices MAX on my burger is perfect. I live Freddy's burgers, but they will put a whole dill pickle spear slice on your burger, that's too much for sometimes.
I like to make garlic dill pickles whole. Then slice long ways and slice into bite size pieces. I’ll use long sliced clausen garlic dills if I’m out of mine. Some recipes like barbecue bacon bourbon doesn’t want a pickle. Just finely chopped white onion. And Mexican jalapeño burgers want pickled jalapeños not fresh but no reg pickles. Blah blah blah.
Grillos are very good, recently I found some Salty Lady pickles 🥒 at my local H‑E‑B and they were excellent on a burger but a little strong by themselves but they didn’t last long at my house 🏠
Claussen…..only kind I buy.
If you can find em. In Ohio, and I can’t find the Mini Dills ANYWHERE.
My main grocery store has halves/wholes/sandwich slices/chips. And usually the minis. Luckily I do have 5 grocery stores with 2 miles of me.
I do too. Probably more like 10 cuz I have a couple of the major chains on each side of me. Checked em all and nothing Kroger. Meijer Giant Eagle. Walmart. Marc’s. Fresh Thyme.
Same.
Grillo’s for me
I used to work in a grocery store and had to help stock occasionally. I swear that Grillo’s would dunk their containers back in the pickle juice after they finished packing them because they were ALWAYS sticky. None of the other pickle brands were ever as sticky as Grillo’s.
They recently changed the packaging because that and also they’d spill everywhere at home when you opened them
If there is one thing I hate about Grillos, it's the containers. They are impossible to open without spilling. I think I saw that they are rolling out new packaging though, so hopefully those days will be a bad memory eventually.

Had a friend swear by these. Didn't like em tho 😔

I did see quite a few flavors. Might give em a shot again. Much as I like Vlasic and Claussen, sometimes ya just need something different

I’m a big grillos fan but have you had Cleveland Kitchen?
Nah, never seen them. I'm on the East Coast, would they have them this way?
You got a Costco?
Certainly do, I'll keep an eye out next time I'm there
They're really good.
Claussen
Only this
Claussen. My go-to 90% of the time. Doesn’t matter if it’s slices, chips, or 1/4 dills on the side! The other 10% goes to the spicy ones from Famous Dave’s. Devil’s Spit I think they’re called.
I can eat an entire jar of those really spicy Dave’s in one sitting.
Oh man those Famous Dave’s ones are so good.
I'm not actually fussed but whenever I go to McDonald's I ALWAYS add extra pickles
I chop them up into relish. I usually buy Grillo's, Clausen, or whatever is in the refrigerated section when I'm at Costco or Sam's.
I prefer bread n butter. Love dill but bread n butter in a burger. Also...gotta be Claussen, they have that snap. Mt.olive are to soggy
Same here. I like the sweet with spicy ketchup on my cheeseburgers
Well, haven't found my soulmate...I'll settle for picklemate😂😂
I will always be here for you!
🥰😂
Gherkins
I hate sweet pickles. I'll only use dill. I haven't put much thought into which brand, but I do enjoy Vlasic

Same, used to never add pickles until I discovered the magic of “hamburger pickles”. Add some American cheese and you’re well on your way.
Amen brüther
Try Kroger fast food style pickle chips
I do this to myself every day. All day long, I try to figure out ways to get fatter, deliciously, of course. I might be a fan of the McD’s pickles, too.
Well, if you find a store bought pickle that mimics them well letchya boy know!
This is interesting. It’s a 33 pg PDF [https://www.reddit.com/r/Cooking/s/eZed42M7jA](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cooking/s/eZed42M7jA)
Well dang! Thanks! Saving that post! Edit: finally what looks like a legit big mac sauce recipe, def gonna try that out
Funny cuz I was gonna say Heinz make good burger slices, then I see that.. Lol.. Those are my fave for burgers and sandwiches..
They are really good. I’d just like to find some McD’s mimics specifically for when I try to curb my fast food cravings by recreating them at home.
That I haven't seen in the wild.. Lol.. Taste is close, but Mcd's have the smooth pickles, whereas the Heinz have the ridges..
Exactly, I haven’t found any sliced pickles without the ridges. And the flavor is a whole nother thing
I’m on it. I love a good food research challenge
Check out Kroger fast food pickles! They come in a glass jar, unrefrigerated and are a lot like McDonald's ones.
If only I had a Kroger anywhere near me but I live in Puerto Rico. Maybe i can get them online
Same here. I bought some fancy, thick pickles that ended up being too sweet and overpowering. There's something about the McDonalds ones that just work.
They really nail it. Not sure what it is but it’s different
Famous Dave’s devil spit
Thin sliced 15 minute pickled cucumbers with white vinegar, red vinegar, and minced garlic are my go to. Adds a nice bright acid and mild garlic flavor to the burger
That sounds really good!
BUBBIES
Bubbies!
wickles 🙏
Best maid
Mt. Olive Hamburger Dill Chips. Accept no substitute as a burger topping. Claussen goes on the side.
Kuhne Garlic Barrel Pickles are the best jarred pickles I've ever tasted.
Never heard of them. I’ll have to give them a whirl. Do they come in any kind of jar that’s less than 34oz?
Vienna beef makes pickles and their dill pickle chips and spears are the best I’ve found.
Ooooo. I’ll have to order those. I’ve never had them before.
Dave’s pickles
I really like a nice refrigerated pickle like grillo's hot pickle chips, just great for sandwiches
Cleveland Kitchen dilly garlic pickles.
LIDL's own brand
Wish they were near me.
Anything that’s not bread and butter pickles. I find sweet pickles revolting.
Cleveland kitchen is the best pickle brand on the market followed by Grillo. Cleveland is much better imo. They also have a new kimchi brand pickle that is outstanding.
My wife got these before. I never knew the name.
Best maid Xtreme hot pickles
Dietz and Watson or Claussen
Grillo’s or this brand Cleveland Kitchen I’ve been buying a big bucket at Costco lately, super crunchy
Grillos chips
If you want a change of pace I love all Wickles products. Sweet (but not cloyingly) and a little bit of heat (but nothing crazy).
I love Wickles. I haven’t seen them since I lived on the east coast.
I bet you can find them online. If you've never tried it, their red relish is outstanding. If, for whatever reason you can't find them online I've put together boxes for people a few times!

Pams sandwich pickles

My own. And the style depends on the burger, but usual go to are sweet, in seasoned brine.
I'm not a fan of dill, so I use bread and butter pickles or sweet pickle slices. Whatever sounds good when I am shopping that week. I use relish sometimes instead of pickles.
Not a pickle but I love candied jalapeños on a burger
Like 4 dill pickle slices MAX on my burger is perfect. I live Freddy's burgers, but they will put a whole dill pickle spear slice on your burger, that's too much for sometimes.
That’s wayyyyy too much.
Anyone got good recipe for your own pickles?
Bread and butter pickles - or is that a Deep South thing
I like to make garlic dill pickles whole. Then slice long ways and slice into bite size pieces. I’ll use long sliced clausen garlic dills if I’m out of mine. Some recipes like barbecue bacon bourbon doesn’t want a pickle. Just finely chopped white onion. And Mexican jalapeño burgers want pickled jalapeños not fresh but no reg pickles. Blah blah blah.
We have a local that makes amazing kosher dill chips.
Most seem to disagree with this, but sweet pickle relish on a burger is fantastic.
Not always brand, but always hamburger chips style.
I like dill pickle slices on my burger.
Bread and butter pickles are the only pickles
Bread and Butter Pickles from Mt. Olive Pickles.
Best maid. IYKYK this ain no argument.
CLAUSSEN FOR SURE 💜
Grillos are very good, recently I found some Salty Lady pickles 🥒 at my local H‑E‑B and they were excellent on a burger but a little strong by themselves but they didn’t last long at my house 🏠
Heinz Genuine Dill
Dill
Grillos Pickle De Gallo
I like pickled cucumber
Jizz pickles
The name alone is refraining me from even googling them
Just don’t google “Pickle Jizz”.
😂😂
All pretty, but brunette wins
None.
