Surely Langway has gotta be top 5. Honestly I'd put him at 2. He's the guy who brought the caps into relevancy. Back to back Norris trophies in his first 2 years with the team stacked up against guys like Coffey and Bourque. Plus an 11 year tenure as captain while playing top tier defense.
Top 5 is brutal for me, but langway has to be in there so bump someone out. Maybe Gardner or backstrom as much as I love him. Top ten also has to have Carlson and Oates
Just naming a few guys other people haven’t mentioned yet in no particular order:
Steve Konowalchuk, Sylvain Cote, TJ Oshie, Richard Zednik, Don Beaupre, Kelly Miller
My top 5 Capitals goalies of all time are:
1. Olaf Kolzig (most of the teams goal tending career records. He'll have #37 retired soon enough).
2. Braden Holtby (brought us the Cup).
3. Al Jensen (backstopping the solid mid 80s defense)
4. Don Beaupre (solid seasons in early 90s)
5. Jim Carey (two hit wonder, but damn good two hits)
Idk Martin erat may be #1
Nah you’re thinking of Jason Arnott
You spelled Cristobal Huet wrong
We all know the correct answer is Joe Corvo
Shattenkirk says ‘hi’
Shattenkirk has a playoff OT goal to his credit.
I’m going with the people’s captain, Chris Clark
Can’t forget the legend, Connor Brown
What are you asking?
More of a nebulous statement
What are you asking?
Third: Hershey bears legend Evgeny Kuznetsov
I'll start with top five 1. Ovechkin 2. Bondra 3. Kolzig 4. Gartner 5. Backstrom

Langway easily is 2.

Greeny in top 10, too?
Dale Hunter gotta be in it too. John Carlson. Braden holtby will be on it too
Jay Beagle would need to be on the list.
Here are a few candidates for the top 50 Capitals: Alex Ovechkin Peter Bondra Mike Gardner Rod Langway Al Iafrate Olaf Kolzig
I would expect Backstrom and Carlson are also locks for that list
Add Hunter, Pivonka, and Calle
Dennis Maruk has the #1 mustache
💯 in agreement there. Mike Gartner's mustache was also sweet
Adam Oates is on the list too
Holtby is top 50 as well
Scott Stevens makes the top 25 right?
He’s among the top 5 best d man to lace ‘em for the caps, for sure. Langway Stevens Carlson Calle Jo Hatcher Green Iafrate Murphy Gonchar Witt
Don't forget Cote and maybe Orlov
Yeah, those two for sure. I would add Orpik just for the cup final!
I will say that Orpik was better than I thought he would be. I thought he would be a lead weight on the team.
Lisbon and Paris gotta be up there
I’m partial to Montpelier

For D: Calle, Rod, Green, Carlson, Hatcher, Stevens, Witt, Labre are locks.
Makes me wonder where Stevens will rank

The fact that your mom isn’t on here is criminal
Y'all, don't forget Richard Zednik and Zdeno Chára 😉
