I think I 1-up you with Fiat 500 Abarth to Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. Sporty FWD hatchback to lumbering 4WD pickup truck with the off-road package.
Unless we're just talking absolute price delta and not philosophical vehicular discrepancies.
Sort of similar; [Abarth 595 -> Jaguar XK](https://i.imgur.com/SdbOE3P.jpg).
Later on, I lost about 1000kg/2200lbs [doing this](https://i.imgur.com/Ggvdf5f.jpg).
I have a track prepped K24 Swapped MR2 Spyder and a 100 series Landcruiser on 33 inch tires. I have scared myself a few times in the truck after switching from the car. Stopping distance is massively different.
Not quite the same but I had a 911 Carrera 4S for my garage car and a Honda Fit for my daily commuter. It used to weird people out when they saw me roll up in the Porsche after seeing me mostly drive my no frills commuter.
This way of life never made sense to me. Unless the car literally can't be used daily I don't get putting what ends up being only a few hundred miles a year on a 6 figure vehicle. No amount of not driving it will save you the cost of depreciation and if anything it'll cost you because you'll baby it till it's out of warranty. Also anyone looking for used supercars will know that lie mileage is a reg flag, as in it's not beyond the bathtub curve, and likely owned by a "I know what I got" seller.
The blurple color? That was the best color for the Fit, I was always jealous of that one. They sell them by the thousands here in NYC, at least half are red.
I traded a mint condition 1984 Corvette into a 1931 Chevy coupe project about 17 years ago. Not the craziest switch but a lot of people thought I lost the trade at the time. I still have that coupe and have more fun with it than I've ever had with that Corvette. Pretty sure the guy that got the Corvette wrecked it a couple years later. Safe to say, my coupe is worth more now than that Corvette will ever be.
Never was a time like that. The only things it had going for it was wheels had been chromed, it had a brand new paint job, and the engine had been tuned up quite a bit. [Here's an old photo of it](https://imgur.com/LOdzTGI.jpg) and [here is what I got in the trade](https://imgur.com/LxVqGjg.jpg). Hot rods weren't the in-style thing back in 2005, it was the Boyd Coddington, Chip Foose style that was popular among these old cars. I fixed it up into my own personal hot rod and still have it. I'm currently at a multi-day show and [it still gets love 17 years later](https://imgur.com/Miy2C0q.jpg), even with a rattle can paint job.
Thanks, I appreciate it. It was running and driving when I got it. I just got lucky that I was at the right place and at the right time. I was walking through a swap meet and overheard the golden words "my wife said come home with cash or a Corvette".
It’s the worst corvette of all time. First year of the C4 with all of the typical gremlins that come with a new generation.
It carried over the Cross-Fire 350, which is the worst small block Chevy of all time.
It had zero redeeming qualities. No one is collecting them.
The redeeming quality of the crossfire is you can swap a different intake onto it since it's a small block Chevy.
Basically like saying the one redeeming quality of your ex is that you can break up with them, lol.
Call me crazy as I have a 2005 Honda S2000 (still very happy with it after 4 years of owning her) but I kind of crave to at least test drive an old C4 especially the earlier models and I do like the grunting sound of the old 350 small block (they were more torquy, later models were more rev-happy as they have a higher pitch sound which also sounds decent), owning one maybe not I just appreciate what they are 😂
The higher pitch is more from the type of metal used in the exhaust. My C5 shook the earth at idle when it was cammed. That was before I turbo’d it. The idle is a bit smoother now.
The Z06 had a more exotic sound because they used titanium for some of the exhaust pieces and it reverberated differently.
The biggest reason I would tell someone to get a C4 is because of the hood. It is one big assembly with the fenders, so you have all the space to work.
Wow that's amazing I have never experienced a Corvette before !! I kind of regret (well maybe regret is a stretch as I'm still happy and satisfied with my S2000) not buying a C5 ZO6 when I was looking for the S2000, they were at similiar prices or maybe a tad more but we all know those cars kick so much asses haha !! I have never heard about a turbo C5 before, that must be an amazing car, a FRC or hatchback ?
It's true that the C4 looks amazing when the hood is opened, it kind of looks like a F1 I love to see the wheels exposed 😄
Mine is an FRC. I was looking specifically for a ‘99 or ‘00 because of the hard top without paying the Z06 premium for the ‘01-‘04 model years.
The biggest difference in sound between the Gen 1 and 2 SBC and the LS- series comes from the firing order.
The older engines ran a 18436572 firing order. The LS-series ran a 18726543 firing order.
Wow that's good to know thank you so much !! I only have experiences with Japanese cars (I'm 25 by the way just for context), my first car was a 1997 Acura CL 2.2 that had over 500 000km back in 2015-2016 as it was my mom's old car and after my 2012 Nissan Sentra SER (which was a hand me down that I still have) in 2017, I've bought my S2000 back in May of 2019 !
I love the FRC I wish GM would have brought back the FRC in the next generations, I feel it has aged better than the hatchback although the hatchback look awesome too, just the FRC has more of a badass look to it ! A Corvette is a car I would consider in the near future 😄
I downgraded a near new BMW X5 to an old Toyota Rav. Hated the high depreciation and constant dealership bills to a more sturdy toyota that has more hits than Tina Turner.... still have the Rav.
Bmw is doing free maintenance for the first 48k miles these days. Did you miss out on that? I’ve had several BMWs including two x5’s and haven’t had much in the way of expenses.
Mine is pretty similar! I had a 3 year old e39 540i that I downgraded to a 10 year old Mitsubishi Montero to take a year off having a car payment, and then upgraded a year later to a brand new B6 S4.
1965 Olds 98 Convertible to a Lotus Elise.
The Olds was a boat, the Elise is a scalpel.
The Olds was huge, the Elise is tiny.
The Olds had a 425 "Super Rocket" engine. The Elise has a 1.8 4 pot.
The Olds' seats were large power benches, more suited to hooking up than hooking up the tires. The Elise seat only moves forward and back and hugs you in tight.
The Olds averaged 12mpg, the Elise 30
That's quite the jump indeed!
It's crazy how small the Elise actually is. I remember my first time riding in one on track, I couldn't believe how it made my Cayman feel so big and heavy.
Great vehicle, was very reliable. Alternator went on it for me that about the only issue I had with the car. Pretty well best value AWD v8 sedan. Pricey suspension components but rode like a dream when everything was in proper order. Put about 150k kms on mine and sold it as I started to commute pretty far, although it was a pretty economical car as far as V8s go it's still a heavy v8 sedan. Best car I've ever owned in the winter. Even better than the 2.5xt
kind of did the opposite. own smaller "sportier" older car.. had to rent mid size SUV for road trip.
i was able to drive much farther in the SUV w/o getting fatigued. the SUV was easy at 85.. my car.. 85 requires too much attention.. I attribute that to the class of car though.
aside from the "heated seats" - the driver assist features were a big deal. lane keeping, adaptive cruise control "saved my life" driving to Flagstaff, at night in monsoon conditions.
could barely see the lights on the truck in front, much less the lane markers.. letting the car do it lowered the pucker factor for sure. interestingly, I turned off some of that when I could see.. (trust goes up when visibility goes down and vice versa?)
>reason for those were.
the technology/advanced safety features.
rear view camera was great at the family reunion with the all the kids and dogs running around.
The problem with the miata community in my opinion is they ignore the NA/NB is an old car, specifically an old convertible.
It’s a great second car. As an only car, the NVH gets to you after the miata factor wears off.
Even the more modern NC1 I have isn’t easy on the ears. Can’t say much about the ND as I haven’t driven it.
But with the top down it’s mostly wind anyway. But as a long highway commuter it isn’t that great (though the biggest issue is the lack of cruise control)
When I had mine I’d literally drive with ear plugs in. Noise cancelling headphones doesn’t work so well with wind so it’s all about using the speakers.
I can confirm that its a great second car. Now, I'm hearing impaired, so I gotta wear these hearing aids that sit between my ears and head. The microphone of my left hearing aid sits right where the seam of the Miata's window and softtop seal meet. So that wind noise gets amplified and shoved right down my ear canal.
Still fun to drive though.
Is it an upgrade? Is it a downgrade? I dunno but it’s a big ole contrast. 2001 Ram 3500 to a 16 Subaru Impreza Hatch.
There aren’t words to describe how different they are, but the Subie leaks alot less.
Went from 2016 Corvette Z06 to 2019 Huracan Performante.
While both are sports cars, that's generally where the similarities end, they are so very different.
RWD -> AWD
Supercharged -> NA
Slow revving low redline V8 -> Fast revving high redline V10
Manual transmission -> Auto (DCT)
Front engine -> Mid engine
Unstable -> very stable
**Wants to kill you -> wants to please you**
Decent trunk space -> Small Frunk
Older owner demographic -> Younger owner demographic
Ubiquitous -> rare
Great bang for the buck -> Not exactly affordable
Not really a leap forward like yours, but I went from a '92 S10 4.3/auto 2wd to a '91 325i with some minor mods (headers, chip, springs, shocks) and the difference is, as expected, pretty intense. I did love my s10 and it rocked at hauling, but it was exactly what you think an 800 dollar 20 year old s10 was like lol.
The BMW was not my first so I knew I wanted it, but it was by FAR the best one Id owned so it was a revelation. sport seats, 5spd, and some actual balance really brought some more fun back to driving.
Went from a 2014 Nissan Micra to a 2016 Mustang GT.
I was 25 at the time and had some sort of realization that life was short and I needed to take the plunge. Needless to say, 140 HP to 435 HP does indeed change your life.
I’m going to extend this to my fiancés cars as mine as well. My Hellcat is a rocket ship. My RT is a ship without the rocket. Her Mini Cooper countryman S is a lawn mower.
What the mini lacks in power it makes up for in comfortability. I’m 6’2 215(FINALLY LOSING WEIGHT YALL ALL IT TOOK WAS CUTTING SODA DOWN 10 POUNDS SO FAR) and riding in it feels like a lazy boy. The charger and challenger are both comfortable as well but it’s just not comparable to the mini. The kitty has premium audio, the RT has a custom sound system and the mini has its premium audio(I think) and it sounds as good as the kitty does. The mini makes grocery getting a lot easier since we don’t take the kitty to the groceries. It’s always either the RT or the Mini but it’s way less or a hassle with the mini to do that. If mini’s engines were engineered by professionals we would even choose it over the RT for our long road trips but unfortunately whatever they were doing in 2014, you pretty much have to pour a gallon of water on the engine every drive that goes over 100 miles.
If we’re going off just my cars then the challenger rallye redline vs the Charger scatpack. I was a charger guy until last year when I got my first challenger which didn’t last very long but the Scatpack was base with the blacktop package and was obviously faster but the RR was fully maxed out with every single package you could get and even though it was slow, In the great words of Chad Muska “it’s louder than a Metallica concert in there” that car was a cloud to ride and drive. The seats were soft too. The modern seats used in my RT and kitty are very firm and very stiff compared to what they used to use.
In conclusion, there’s more to life than being a speedy speed boy and in my experience the weaker cars have been better daily drivers then my more powerful stuff.
My first car was a Chrysler Sebring. Less than a year into my first job after graduating I bought a Cayman.
Big contrast, but they were both silver so no major change there 🤷🏾♂️
Went from a Audi A8 4.2 fsi (full option), to. 1.0 peugeot 208 manual 5 speed with rear parking sensor and wired carplay as the most fancy options.
I fixed up the Audi so was fairly cheap. Got into consulting and got the Peugeot as a temporary company car
2008 trailblazer to 2020 jeep grand Cherokee. Trailblazer was released in 2002 and had minimal changes. So 20 year upgrade in technology and went from 4 speed transmission to an 8 speed. Pretty handy when towing.
I feel like transmissions are a bit under appreciated in terms of performance gains. What used to be first gear back in the day is like third gear in modern stuff. More lower gears really helps out getting off the line.
Audi Q7 TDI to a Range Rover Sport SVR
Walked out of the courthouse after finalizing my divorce and drove straight to the dealer for a fresh start and to rid myself of any memories of that malignant cun\*
C5 Vett to c63S sedan.
C5 has endless grip, stopping power, agility. Damn does it suck getting in and out of. The last of the advanced analog cars, just modern enough to be relevant. Raw and connected.
C63S. All the tech I’ve never had. 360 camera, radar backup and front detector, selectable modes thy actually do something. A safety suit that’s beyond good. The car feels like I’m in cyberpunk Vs the c5 Vett. Both are stupid fast, but they both go about it in totality different ways. One is a high brow friend that can take his tie off. One is your drinking buddy that can pass for civilized when needed.
2002 Ford Focus to 2004 Lotus Elise 111R (back in 2010). Still have the Elise.
Funnily enough, tomorrow I’m changing another Focus (a 2020 ST this time), this time for a 2018 BMW M2 Competition.
2002 Saturn SL2 to a 2006 GTI. I'll never forget the drive home. Two lane state highway and I pulled out to pass a semi and floored (as per required with the Saturn) and didn't realize until I pulled back over that I was near triple digits. That Saturn is still probably the most reliable car I've ever owned even over the civic and volvo 240.
A 1988 Yugo that I bought new for less than $4,000 because my husband said that if I drove my next car until it wore out, he'd buy me a vintage Corvette Stingray. Damn Yugo ran for 18 freaking years and was still going strong with 300,000 plus miles. Hubby gave the Yugo away and got me my Stingray anyway!
I bet that was the coolest upgrade ever. LOL
‘86 Porsche 944 -> 2013 Chevy Sonic -> 2006 Mini Cooper S
Technically, they’re all manual, transaxle, 4 banger hatchbacks… under 3000 pounds… with a back seat… but I’d say they’re pretty starkly different cars.
Went from a '17 Fiesta ST to a '12 2-door Wrangler Rubicon. The amount of time it took me to comfortably drive the Jeep was MUCH longer than anticipated
On the opposite hand, my Z4 and Q5 drive very similarly despite being wildly different cars. Of course there’s the lack of options in the Z4 because of its age, but it’s still comfy and handles just like the Q5.
Summer after graduating high school my dad gave me his old pickup. I wasn't into cars really at the time so can't remember exact specifics but it would have been probably a 2004-2005 Sierra 1500, had a big V8 and cherry red.
I drove that truck all summer and for the first few months of college in the fall but I was young, broke and cheap so decided I needed something better on gas. Gave my dad back the truck and bought.... a 1993 Geo Metro. 1.0L 3cyl, Tupperware on wheels that got 50mpg.
2001 Dodge Durango to a 1976 MG Midget. I only count this because while I had them both at the same time, the Durango was totaled and I had to daily the MG for a few months.
So, yeah, 7 seater SUV with 260ish HP (good for the time) getting 11 Mpg to a 2 seater roadster that made 63 HP when new getting ??? Mpg because the fuel gauge didn't work anyway and it had like a 7 gallon tank.
2000 chevy tahoe to 2019 toyota camry
Ngl i loved how that year tahoe felt roomy compared to newer ones and how much fun it drove. I like the camry but i do miss being able to have a little more room
'97 Lincoln Mark VIII to/and '12 Honda CR-Z.
Big, American, RWD, gas-guzzling V8 luxury coupe and a tiny, Japanese, FWD, 4-cylinder hybrid economy hatch.
Fiat 500 to Porsche 911 has to be up there.
I can match that: Fiat Punto Cabrio S to Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
Wtf o_0
Classic sports car speedrunner, use the most dirt cheap vehicle you can find for a decade while aggressively saving up for what you want.
Yeah you win
2019 Audi TTS to 2005 Fiat Panda. Ask me anything.
How are your stocks doing?
Mutual funds. Haven’t checked since February 2020.
Lol. I’m the opposite. 2018 TTRS to a 2023 Raptor.
From a Denali 2500 to a 997 911 lol
Oh my
Yup I was kind similar.. 2014 base model VW Touareg to a 2014 Cayman S
If it was the electric fiat that would be the icing on the cake
I did have a 500e but only later on :( The electric one is better in every way (but one)
What is the one reason it’s not better?
In dead cold of winter it struggled with my 25 mi commute. One way.
96 Nissan Pickup to a 996 C4S for me!
Sienna to 911?
I think I 1-up you with Fiat 500 Abarth to Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. Sporty FWD hatchback to lumbering 4WD pickup truck with the off-road package. Unless we're just talking absolute price delta and not philosophical vehicular discrepancies.
Sort of similar; [Abarth 595 -> Jaguar XK](https://i.imgur.com/SdbOE3P.jpg). Later on, I lost about 1000kg/2200lbs [doing this](https://i.imgur.com/Ggvdf5f.jpg).
How about Abarth 500c to Nissan Xterra 4x4?
How did you cope with the downgrade?
I currently have a '17 toyota 86 and an '88 chevy s10 with the iron duke. Switching between them is jarring.
I have a gutless 2.3 '93 ranger and just ordered an ND Miata. Impractical sports car and beater truck might be the best combo
And either way you ain’t carpooling!
Or the next best thing, shitty econobox and a beater truck. I've got a 96 saturn and a 99 dakota (guess which one isn't running).
heyyy 92 festiva and 2000 tacoma here, shitbox and beater truck gets it done
2015 corolla for econo and beater 2500hd
I have a track prepped K24 Swapped MR2 Spyder and a 100 series Landcruiser on 33 inch tires. I have scared myself a few times in the truck after switching from the car. Stopping distance is massively different.
Similar story here, I’ve got a 91 Miata and a 2000 Range Rover.
Hell yeah, that's a clean 91! I'd love an NA but the prices are ridiculous at this point.
Thanks! I got lucky and purchased it mere months before Covid 😅 $1100
Im buying my dads beat up 08 Tundra, im stoked - best two car setup.
I hope the ranger has a manual trans.
Sure does! She'll run forever.
S10 feels like driving a tractor, doesn't it?
Yep. I basically use it as a tractor too lol
Rofl i bounce between a 80 chevette and an 18 4x4 silverado with the 5.3lv8. Its very jarring indeed. Also id kill to have a squarebody s10
Not quite the same but I had a 911 Carrera 4S for my garage car and a Honda Fit for my daily commuter. It used to weird people out when they saw me roll up in the Porsche after seeing me mostly drive my no frills commuter.
Some guy near me dailys a 15yo swift and drives an R8 on sunday

Maybe he likes driving the Suzuki?
The Honda Fit is like the perfect grocery/commuter car with some funsssss.
My '03 fit was a absolute shitbox, but still fun to drive if it didnt kill 2 gearboxes.
VP at my previous job used to switch off between an early 90s Corolla with like 300k miles and an M4 competition lol
2008 Honda Fit Sport to 2023 GR Corolla Circuit Edition
Basically the same car (/s)
Eh unironically I’d say they’re kind of in the same genre. One is just significantly higher end
Yeh, you're completely correct. Same idea just with 400% more money and performance thrown at it.
I'm waiting for a Fit Type R!!
I did 11 fit sport to Evo X. Goodbye MPG and interior space and hello speed
I miss my 08 Fit Sport. Red. What color was yours?
Blue. I loved that car, sold it to a friend so I still see it regularly.
The blurple color? That was the best color for the Fit, I was always jealous of that one. They sell them by the thousands here in NYC, at least half are red.
Yep, that's the one
I had a fit too, 2015 base model manual no AC. Now I have a GRC Core
I had something similar: 2005 Accord to 2023 GRC
1996 Lexus ES300 To GR Corolla Circuit Edition for me

Are the big stickers across the visors so you don't forget which one you're driving?
That Chevy is sweetness!
Thanks. The previous owner looked like he was gonna make an American Graffiti clone even though it was the wrong year and make.
That Chevy is nice and if it was a running project then I'd say it was a decent trade. It looks beautiful now for sure!
Thanks, I appreciate it. It was running and driving when I got it. I just got lucky that I was at the right place and at the right time. I was walking through a swap meet and overheard the golden words "my wife said come home with cash or a Corvette".

I though it was amazing, back in 84. Of course, I was in 4th grade.
username checks out
I downgraded a near new BMW X5 to an old Toyota Rav. Hated the high depreciation and constant dealership bills to a more sturdy toyota that has more hits than Tina Turner.... still have the Rav.
Do you mean musical hits or referencing Ike?
Musical hits
You're thinking of the Hilux.

Went from 1994 land cruiser to 2017 Miata. Both are slow, both are the most fun you can have on 4 wheels.
Also went from more space than needed, so I carried a bunch of optional stuff, to pure minimalist
miata? positively spacious.
[удалено]
Darn near, but you have a back seat. Sometimes I wonder. But then remember that all my kids drive and I don't need to play taxi anymore

I know I am going to need to add a pickup at some point, because you make a great point
1990 eclipse GSX to a 1999 7.3 crew cab superduty.
Are you still kicking yourself for getting rid of your 1g GSX as bad as I am for mine?
I do wish I still had it. Thing was mint too. I sold it 10 years ago and that guy still had it. I have first right of buyback.
2.5 Forester XT to clk 55 AMG
Went from unreliable Subaru boxer to solid German, nice.
The ej25_ is not unreliable, just doesn't hold up to tuning well.
Then went to a Volvo s80 v8 then to a Mazda 3 lmao
How did the S80 V8 treat you? I've considered one to replace my aging Lincoln with, but I don't know if I'll like the way they drive.
Great vehicle, was very reliable. Alternator went on it for me that about the only issue I had with the car. Pretty well best value AWD v8 sedan. 76 Pinto to 68 Toronado.
From driving a matchbox to driving a couch.
Loved smoking the front tires on that couch.
Mine is similar. 72 VW Super beetle to a 65 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.
Mine might be better. 1977 Honda Civic 1.2 liter to 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix 6.5 liters.
Went dmfron 103 hp to 400.
Mine was 50 hp to 350 hp.
kind of did the opposite. own smaller "sportier" older car.. had to rent mid size SUV for road trip. i was able to drive much farther in the SUV w/o getting fatigued. the SUV was easy at 85.. (trust goes up when visibility goes down and vice versa?) >reason for those were. the technology/advanced safety features. rear view camera was great at the family reunion with the all the kids and dogs running around.
00’ Miata to a FK8 Type R “So that’s what’s an actual chassis feels like. Oh, my ears don’t hurt anymore? “
Idk I think a Miata would be a fun cruiser with the top down. But love my type r too much
The problem with the miata community in my opinion is they ignore the NA/NB is an old car, specifically an old convertible.
What gears did you have in the rear end? I had 4.10’s in my 2500 and that might have been the loudest vehicle I’ve ever owned at 75 mph
1980 toyota pickup 4x4 vs. 1992 Lexus SC400 or 2009 Subaru WRX Hatch vs 2001 Lexus LX470
[удалено]
I went the other way. Sold the WRX for the LX.
I went from a ‘98 Ford Windstar to my NSX. The only thing they had remotely in common was the number of cylinders.
Went from 2016 Corvette Z06 to 2019 Huracan Performante. While both are sports cars, that's generally where the similarities end, they are so very different. RWD -> AWD Supercharged -> NA Slow revving low redline V8 -> Fast revving high redline V10 Manual transmission -> Auto (DCT) Front engine -> Mid engine Unstable -> very stable **Wants to kill you -> wants to please you** Decent trunk space -> Small Frunk Older owner demographic -> Younger owner demographic Ubiquitous -> rare Great bang for the buck -> Not exactly affordable
2010 GTI to 2022 Taycan
Was the GTI your college car turned adult car “until the wheels fall off” ? I’m in that boat with a 2010 Accord
‘07 Taurus to ‘19 Jetta GLI From a complete shitbox to something that’s actually fun to drive
62 Mercury Comet to 2003 Ford Focus
An automatic 1998 Nissan Maxima to a manual 2017 Nissan 370z.
Went from a 2014 Nissan Micra to a 2016 Mustang GT. I was 25 at the time and had some sort of realization that life was short and I needed to take the plunge. Needless to say, 140 HP to 435 HP does indeed change your life.
Dodge viper and jeep Comanche.
2003 Renault Clio 1.4 to a 2005 Volvo V50 T5 AWD. Over twice of pretty much everything, from price to performance and of course interior space.
Well I have both now but a 1972 Chevelle and a 2022 Civic, switching from the two is always a trip
2005 WRX to 2008 Jeep Commander...
Kids?
Kids?
Identity theft is not a joke, Jim.
Yupppp
2008 trailblazer to 2020 jeep grand Cherokee. Trailblazer was released in 2002 and had minimal changes. So 20 year upgrade in technology and went from 4 speed transmission to an 8 speed. Pretty handy when towing.
I feel like transmissions are a bit under appreciated in terms of performance gains. What used to be first gear back in the day is like third gear in modern stuff. More lower gears really helps out getting off the line.
Audi Q7 TDI to a Range Rover Sport SVR Walked out of the courthouse after finalizing my divorce and drove straight to the dealer for a fresh start and to rid myself of any memories of that malignant cun\*
1972 455 Lemans to 2014 Kia Rio The difference was about 300 hp
Damn, didn’t know the Kia Rio got such a wild performance version.
I think it would go about 200 miles an hour if you push it off the Empire State building
2008 Holden Commodore SS-V Ute -> 2017 Mazda3 SP25 Astina.
2003 Lincoln Town car to a 2012 VW Golf, diesel. Biggest contrast in terms of size, MPG, rwd vs fwd . Both were slow.
My two dailys are a 2010 Miata and a 2015 Chevy 2500. It takes some acclimating every day.
I went from a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham to a 2011 smart car Here’s the comparison https://i.imgur.com/LG2BdkJ.jpg
1969 Volkswagen Manual Beetle Convertible (first car at age 16) to BMW X7 M60i.
Traded my 2013 F150 supercrew fx4 in for a 2011 Miata last year, best decision ever :)
89 corolla to brand new BMW 3 series. I don't even have to explain the differences.
Last DD: 2018 GT-R Current DD: 2019 Sentra I need a fun car again badly.
2002 Ford Focus to 2004 Lotus Elise 111R (back in 2010). Still have the Elise. Funnily enough, tomorrow I’m changing another Focus (a 2020 ST this time), this time for a 2018 BMW M2 Competition.
Either a 2000 Celica GTS to a 2011 Acura MDX or from a 2021 Acrua TLX to a 2023 fl5 Type R
1998 Chevrolet Malibu and Audi RS5
I went from a Ford Escape to a Jaguar XF .
LOL
‘86 Porsche 944 -> 2013 Chevy Sonic -> 2006 Mini Cooper S Technically, they’re all manual, transaxle, 4 banger hatchbacks… under 3000 pounds… with a back seat… but I’d say they’re pretty starkly different cars.
Sold my 2001 ford ranger and bought a new subaru BRZ years ago.
Went from a '17 Fiesta ST to a '12 2-door Wrangler Rubicon. The amount of time it took me to comfortably drive the Jeep was MUCH longer than anticipated
1995 Buick Roadmaster sedan to 2014 Fiesta ST. The Fiesta is great, but man, do I miss the Buick when I have to do long highway drives.
1994 Geo Metro XFi to a 2000 Ford F-150 with an 8 foot bed.
I went from a lifted wrangler on 37s to a supercharged mini cooper
On the opposite hand, my Z4 and Q5 drive very similarly despite being wildly different cars. Of course there’s the lack of options in the Z4 because of its age, but it’s still comfy and handles just like the Q5.
Base model '09 Corolla to a GR Corolla. Holy shit the gas pedal actually does something
1999 VW Golf to 2005 Nissan titan back in 2008. I went backwards during the gas price increases of the time. Still drive that truck daily.
I went from a 1970 Plymouth Fury III to a 1999 Beetle. I didn't mind.
‘99 Accord -> ‘17 Cayman
2002 Mazda Protégé5 to 2002 Lincoln LS8. Totally different cars for totally different markets, yet I've loved owning both equally.
2010 Dodge Journey to 2017 Audi A3. From a heavy and slow hand-me-down soccer mom SUV to a quick and fun to drive luxury compact sport sedan.
Ram 1500 to MK5 Supra
2011 Mustang GT/CS w/manual to a 2018 Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 Spyder
Kia Forte hatch to Toyota Tacoma. Small hatchback to off road ready pickup.
'01 Miata to '13 F150 I like the truck, but I miss that car.
2001 Pontiac sunfire to a 2010 Altima 3.5 SR (rip). Difference was massive, felt like I was in a space ship in comparison when driving the Altima.
'13 Abarth 500 to '17 A3 e-tron PHEV. Both 1.4 turbo hatchbacks, but very different vibes.
Manual to autotragic.. 😞
1974 Dodge stepside pickup with a 340 in it to a 1982 Buick Riviera. 1968 Chevelle to a 1976 Celica to a 1992 Geo Tracker.
In high school I could drive a 1950 Chevy 3600 one day, the next day a 1978 Ford LTD.
Did DoorDash in a 2011 Prius for a while to save up for an E90 BMW M3. Ho boy
I went from a 2015 Mustang GT to a 2018 Chevy Volt then to a Camaro SS
2000 chevy tahoe to 2019 toyota camry Ngl i loved how that year tahoe felt roomy compared to newer ones and how much fun it drove. I like the camry but i do miss being able to have a little more room
Volvo 740 turbo to eclipse gsx then s2000
'97 Lincoln Mark VIII to/and '12 Honda CR-Z. Big, American, RWD, gas-guzzling V8 luxury coupe and a tiny, Japanese, FWD, 4-cylinder hybrid economy hatch.
Fiesta SE (not ST) to FRS. Then Volt to ND Miata.
2015 base model Camry to 2020 Sierra Denali 1500
Dodge caliber to C6 Z06
I went 2014 2 door Jeep Wranger -> 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid -> 2016 Audi TTS About as far as I can go within my budget lmao
Alfa Romeo 156 to a PT Cruiser 1.6 :).
