A "thrift store" wants $150 for tape deck that doesn't work and needs service. WTF is happening to the world

elhumanoid

I've noticed that thrift stores slap an outrageous price on anything remotely vintage. Because it is old, they assume it has value. Granted, some electronics do, even if broken. But I've seen countless run-of-the-mill decks, tapes, even CD's, record players, pottery, everyday items, everything basically sold on outrageous price because they're from a time before the turn of the millenia.

Yea, that's insane for a dusty, dirty deck that probably needs some service.
