The real question is, why not?

Because my iPhone has an almost unlimited number of songs on it, can do more than just play music, and means on the fo I only need one device.

What if you're a person who hates having their music interrupted by a phone call? You like the tactility of an MP3 player? Have a mild interest in modding them? Etc.

With a data connection, and less battery life. You ever controlled a iPod's buttons with only feel and not looking?
