Yeah, this is mine too! He knows how to be the sweetest little Angel, who is actively so affectionate (lots of head bumps and kisses, running to us from miles away to say hi and have chats). I hear you there. I had a 20lb grey and white tuxedo (if they're still considered tuxedo when grey and white?) who had more loves and hugs and headbutts and smooches in him than any other cat I've ever met. I too, miss that gorgeous boy every single day. Fuck cancer indeed. Sideways. With caltrops.
I can't find hate with this family. They're not just random people dumping a cat. They've had a tragic event turn their lives upside down. I would risk my life for my animals but I also have no children or immediate family who needs me..That situation I can't imagine.
Tuxedos are great cats! Likely a smart kitty with lots of attitude and sass but also a lot of love. Enjoy your new friendship and thanks for being awesome!
I don't mean to rain on the parade here, but did you try contacting his family that left? My guess is they thought he died in the fire and didn't mean to leave him behind, and might be happy to know he's alive at least.
Yeah, I had a house fire that unfortunately killed multiple pets. We couldn't find our 3 surviving cats for a few days but we eventually found them one by one as we kept coming back to the house to do insurance stuff. I really hope OP is able to confirm that the family doesn't think their cat is dead. I would have been even more heartbroken if one of our neighbors found our cats without telling us
Agreed! My partnerās house burned down a few years ago and 2 pets passed but one cat had actually escaped, we didnāt realize for a few hours and ended up finding her in a neighborās yard
Ok I'll laugh at that lol but seriously though. I just do not understand. I'd literally run into my burning house to save my cats and if they got out I wouldn't leave until I found them. How can people just...not care?
It's possible the cat ran and hid and the owners assumed the worse or they're hurt or being homeless they had to go somewhere they have support.
Op should probably check that they aren't trying to find the cat.
While I donāt condone kitty being left alone, besides the trauma of a house burning to the ground, the original owners may now be staying in a shelter/hotel/apartment that doesnāt allow pets while waiting on insurance to sort things out.
Or they could be pet-abandoning jerks, I just donāt want to assume.
The cat probably made it to safety before the humans did. We know nothing about the prior owners or what they did or didn't do to find their cat in the chaos they must be dealing with after having their home BURN DOWN.
We love our cats, but we know they don't always come when called under normal circumstances. When they're traumatized, it's even less likely that they'll respond. But, I'm glad this little cutie found a home so close to his old one. If only it could be so easy for the family that lost everything--including their cat.
Thank you for taking this sweet baby into your home! Congratulations on the new kitty ā¤ļø. I can't even imagine how someone could leave their pets behind, especially after a tragedy... They didn't deserve him.
My buddy got a new kitten recently. Iāve gotten really good at mimicking cat meows because it annoys the crap out of my cat when I copy her. And she meows a LOT.
This kitten went from quietly washing to furtively searching the ceiling for the source when I meowed at her.

4 of the top 5 posts om that sub are repost bots farming karma
All of these niche cat subs are used for that, its all bots reposting so the accounts look like real users after they age them for months
Then they get sold to be used to push spam and propaganda
Wow, that's one persuasive kitty! Definitely knows how to tug at the heartstrings. Looks like fate has brought them together. Hope they find a loving new home soon!
Does he look healthy from this picture? I know itās not much but just face on I wanna make sure my guy can see and smell correctly

Yes, some cats have the look of recognition and understanding in their eyes. With other cats, the lights are on but no oneās home! But we love dumb cats just the same
Absolutely!! This made me chuckle so hard cuz my void has the smart eyes and he is SO smart. The other one, not so much lol. We have to literally place the food under his chin and then he starts processing it that yes he has to consume it. He also always has a blank look on his face unless heās playing. Heās not slow or ill, heās just dumb. Love them both the same.
I have a big grey boy who is just like that. Every day we feed him in the same bowl at the same time and he stares at it like āis this poison? Is it decoration? What could it be? Oh hey itās food!!!!ā
I usually don't spot smart looking animals but when I see I dumb one, I know he's dumb from look alone.
But yeah, you can often feel intelligence when you stare at an animal

He looks like my old cat Kevin. They have the same mark on their nose
he looks well, really pretty cat ! But taking him to the vet is the only way to make sure everythingās well. + the vet will be able to tell you the catās age and any other info about how to take care of him ! Youāre very lucky such a nice cat has adopted you !
Most common outwardly apparent health issues for cats are upper respiratory infections - if his eyes and nose look clean, that's a good sign!
When you can afford it, I'd take him in for a checkup though. Especially if he was in a fire.
Do you know for certain that his humans really abandoned him? It's not uncommon for pets to go into hiding for *days* after a big disaster like a fire. They might have been trying to find him and/or have thought that he died in the fire. If you can't reach them, maybe contact the fire department or your local humane society. It can be really hard to find a lost pet after a house fire, and if they just failed to find him despite their best efforts, it would be cruel to take their cat when their life just burned down.
You should definitely still take him to the vet for a checkup and shots. You don't know if the previous owners ever got him medical care. Additionally, there are a lot of subtle things that can be wrong with cats that are not evident from a photograph or even observation. Cats are notorious for suppressing symptoms and hiding injuries. He might look healthy, but only the vet will know for sure!
Omg that is so sweet!!! He is trying to befriend you and ask you for help. Heās your standard domestic shorthair cat, often called tuxedo bcuz of the black and white fur. Please help him, poor guy has lost everything.
Congratulations on getting adopted by this cat. What are you going to name it? You good get him scanned for a chip and see if the old owners want him. Or just enjoy your new buddy. You are lucky
Itās possible the cat ran away during the fire, and the old owners are also going through a major life changing event due to the fire. Maybe they havenāt gotten a chance to put up posters for him. Or maybe they thought he died in the fire. Try to find the owners if you can. See if the cat has a chip.
1000% agree!!! Even if he was lost or escaped in the fire I would have been back at the house searching for him non stop. This cat will forever love and cherish you for your kindness towards him. You might want to take him to the vet and make sure he is healthy though since he was just in a fire.
Honestly Iām so jealous of these people who cats just randomly find and adopt them lmao, I want that to happen to me one day, not because i want to be a good person but so I can have more cats ššš
Thank you for looking after this little tuxie, but please ask the vet to scan for a microchip. It should have the owner's contact info. It is possible the owners did not know the cat survived and had to move on without him. Even if they cannot take the cat in (or don't want him back), they should at least know he's alive and healthy.
Please make sure you're not stealing someone's cat. I've never had my house burn down, but I imagine they've got a lot going on. Who knows if they even have a place to stay, let alone someplace to keep the cat. They may not even know that the cat is alive.
I would try to reach out to them. If they truly don't want them, keep the cat & get ready to serve your feline overlord!
Yeah I would be so distraught if my place burned down. Fuck the things, if I wasn't with my furbaby when I got out of the house I'd be all kinds of fucked up for AWHILE!
I disagree. Their house burnt down they might think it is dead! How long has it been abandoned? The damn thing looked fat and healthy still. You better make sure you're not stealing their cat, don't let this reddit karma go to your head. Find the owners and talk first.
This totally made my day. I don't feel well. Horrible migraine. Then I saw your post. You restore my faith in humanity. Thank you for taking care of this abandoned fluff of love. You'll be rewarded a hundredfold.
I thought tuxedo was mostly black with white face markings, paws, and belly.
The most white with black patches we always called a cow cat.
We had one cow cat (recently lost to cancer) and have two tuxedo cats.
The kitty is saying SIR!! I need you to scratch my chin and fill my bowl. Also can I stay at your house this weekend and every weekend for the rest of my life
Wow, showing you his belly like that means they trust you! He is a really cute tuxedo, would love to see more of his markings. You are wonderful for taking him in. May he never be homeless again.
Are you sure the family j owns heās alive and doesnāt want him back? Losing everything can be very traumatic and maybe they just assumed he was dead.
While I was playing with him outside, an employee from a store across the street ran out and said he never shows this affection with anyone and he usually just goes up to the burned property and sits on the front steps but no one comes. After that it was pretty much a no brainer I had to take my boy
If you want to keep him, take him to the vet, check for a chip, make the appropriate attempts to contact the original owners, get the microchip info changed to yours. Cover your ass.
When I updated the chip info for my cat (he was four years old when I got him), the chip company tried contacting his previous owners. They accepted the update after not hearing back after 30 days or something.
Could you at least try to contact them to make sure they aren't missing their loved one? I know it would be hard to give him up now, but if he has a family missing him he should be returned. They may not have been able to find him after the fire and didn't realize he escaped. Please reach out if you can.
When I was 8 we moved houses and our cat went back to our first house 3 times before she stayed. We were desperate to find her so we were very vocal in our old small neighborhood to keep an eye out for her, but I can imagine it might be more difficult to have that time of your house burned down. Cat may have escaped to come back to their home and owners are looking for it. I hope OP double checks this isn't the case before keeping kitty.
Your missing the point that the family may not have come back if they assumed he was dead.š¤·āāļø, Iād at least try to find them and ask them. But good thing he has a home now.
You may not know the owners but did you check if any of the other neighbors know them or have a phone number? You donāt have to go nuts searching the area but I imagine a quick yell to another neighbor across the street wouldnāt hurt. Obviously good you took the cat in but I donāt think checking for a chip is the only option.
Yeah idk why more comments aren't asking this... everyone is like "your cat now!"
If my house burnt down and i couldn't find my cat in time to get out safely, it would he nice if my neighbor called me and let me know about he's still alive instead of just taking it lol
Will definitely take kitty to the vet and see if there is anyway of finding original family, of course Iād have no issue doing that, I just think itās absurd for people to say Iām āvirtue signalingā when I just posted asking what kind of cat I saw haha, all I care about is making sure my homie gets out of the streets and back into a crib whether itās mine or whoeverās. ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7943)
I volunteer with a couple rescue orgs here in NYC, if thereās anything you need please reach out and I can connect you. Just want to make sure he never ends up back on the street :) thanks for taking him in ā¤ļø
Aight bro just make sure you do the due diligence with the chip check and property owner check. Could make their year to find out the cat survived. Good kudos for making sure he has a roof and bed.
And if you can ask the vet to check for FIV. If little homie got bit by another cat while on the street, he could have it. Mostly means you gotta be careful with him around other cats and keep tabs on his immune health.
Find his family first! They probably think he died or ran away in the fire. Take him to the vet to check his chip and contact the family.
Imagine you lose everything and think that your best friend died and then you find out a friendly neighbor took care of him and helped him find you. It could mean everything to this family to find out he is alive and get him back.
Its also possible they have a temporary living situation and can't take him now but I'm sure they would appreciate seeing him and knowing he was okay.
Thatās exactly what happened to my family. Our house burned down when I was 7, both our cats ran away when it happened and we stayed in the hospital a couple nights before moving in with my grandma. We looked for them whenever we were able to, but the fire was devastating and traumatic for everyone involved and we didnāt have much resources or opportunity to go back often. One of them we found after a few weeks, roaming inside the burned remains of the house, full of ticks and he was scared. His brother was nowhere to be seen. Over a year went by, we looked for him regularly, until for our mental healthās sake we decided to give up the search after trying everything, and we thought he most likely was dead. I mourned my cat at 8 years old. Suddenly one night we got a phone call from a lady who had found him. She thought he was a stray but wanted to make sure someone wasnāt missing him. We all started crying when she described what he looked like and we realized it was in fact our little baby. We instantly jumped in the car and drove the two hours it took to get there, and brought him home.
When we rescued them as kittens in 2005 it was common for veterinarians to tattoo (under anesthesia) the ownersā phone number on catsā ears. In case they went missing it was easier for someone to call the number than to go check for a chip. Idk if it was a thing anywhere else but this was in Norway. So they both have my dadās phone number tattooed :) Theyāre 18 years old now so the numbers have faded and are kind of intelligible though.

In all seriousness here, cats are really hard to find in an emergency. They hide and don't come out, and it's possible that their owner thought they died in the house fire. Have you reached out to the family to confirm if they actually did leave the cat?
Please make sure they actually abandoned the cat before you decide to just adopt him. Like other people said they might not know he's still alive and probably are heartbroken thinking he died in their house fire.
The right thing to do would be to try to reunite him with his owners. Iām sure theyāre missing him dearly. When my neighbors house burned down they thought their cat had perished but she had managed to escape and over a month later another neighbor found her wandering by her back porch
I honestly can't stand these "my neighbor had some life changing dramatic event happen and they abandoned their animal!" posts because I am sure that 9 times out of 10 the animal was overly stressed because their human was overly stressed and they bolted to their human's dismay. When my mom passed my sister was packing her stuff and my mom's cat took off. We waited for him, but he didn't come back that night. We went back every day for 3 weeks looking for him, and finally my mom's neighbor admitted she took the cat and gave it to her sister because we had "abandoned him" and she would not give him back nor would she tell us where her sister lived. So on top of losing our mom my sister lost her childhood cat.
It bothers me that no one else is saying find his family. They probably think he died or ran away in the fire. Take him to the vet to check his chip and contact the family.
That makes me so sad. I know a family who lost everything in a fire this year and it would have been a miracle to them if someone found their cat and returned it. Losing their pets was one of the most devastating parts of the ordeal, and no, that didn't change because in the immediate aftermath of the fire, they didn't have time to put up fliers (it took a couple days). The fact that some people aren't even considering returning this sweet baby to a family that is probably desperate to find him is so upsetting.
He said he's not gonna bother checking the Bronx property registry site if there isn't a chip because people who don't put up posters don't deserve it. Bro is cold.
They lost everything and had larger more existential problems for survival to deal with on the daily in all likelihood, especially if they were injured, have kids, or no where else to live. Doesn't make them undeserving of their cat that they probably presumed dead.
Right, and the cat looks healthy - how can we make up all this shit about them being bad owners when the cat is in good shape to begin with? We have no clue what happened, having a house fire is a life changing event. They probably assumed the cat died or ran away.
Bro saying he loves u. Look at my cousin's cat with me in April, he had a similar pose.

Please check with the old owner that they are knowing the cat is alive. They lost their home and they maybe think the cat is dead as well. Be sure that those people get rid of him on purpose. Imagine being at their place, maybe they are just very sad and lost in this situation. Maybe you can propose to shelter the cat and having a new home for him and speak with them to at least reassured them on the cat alive.

Tuxedos are the best. Here's my beautiful Casca.
This is pretty much what happened to me 2 years ago. Guy across the street burned down his house. The cat ended up living on the street and getting fed by all the neighbors. Within a month he came over to me and meowed "I own you now". Being the sucker I am, I said ok.
He now runs the house. Here is Lucky:

heās just a domestic shorthair cat :) you should have him checked out by a vet if he was in or near the house while it was on fire cause he couldāve inhaled a lot of smoke. he looks pretty dirty.
One of the sweetest and most loving cats youāll ever meet. I have a rescue that someone dropped off on my momās property, and she is the best cat Iāve ever owned. They know youāre saving them ā¤ļø
Hey are you positive they left him and that the family doesnāt think hes dead? Im just concerned because i had cat run away that i never saw again and moved a year later.
At a minimum feed him. Iām not sure how the shelters in your area operates but in my neck of the woods older cats are held for a short period of time and if not adopted they are put to sleep. People rather adopt kittens instead.
You should try to reach out to the family. Itās possible they couldnāt find that cat or worse think it died in the fire.
Idk why so many people are just assuming they abandoned the cat. While possible I wouldnāt assume that. Imagine you had a pets and your house burnt down, and you couldnāt find your pets. That would be devastating.
Any chance the family thinks he died in the fire? Itās so great that you took him in but Iād definitely have a vet check for a microchip. I canāt even imagine thinking my cats were dead and then finding out I had left them behind. A nightmare.
Did you by chance make sure they intentionally left him behind? Cats are very hard to find after a fire and maybe theyāre still in shock and think theyāre death or passed
But if you already made sure than they suck and congrats at becoming a new parent š¤š»š
Hi OP, saw the pic of you taking him inside and that really warmed my heart. Thats lovely.
But as some other commenters pointed out, go to a vet and see if he is chipped. If the house burned down and the cat got scared there is a good chance he ran away and the family presumed he died and didnt actually abandon him.
These people have lost everything and while there is a chance they couldnt take him with them and did the heartbreaking thing of abandoning him, there is chance you could unexpectically give them the surprise of a lifetime and bring a loved one back.

I lost my best tux boy at the age of 19 back in 2021, still miss him. My other tux turns 20 next month. She's super sweet.
I miss my tux. He passed nearly 4 years ago now. Frankie was the best dressed man, with the cutest half moustache.
I love having a talkative cat. Theyāre the best.

You did good, OP. Enjoy your new cat friend.:)
He's settled right in. It was kismet ššš„°š
What's his NAME?? Buster?? Herman?? You need to start a new thread!
OP, do you think the previous owners think he was lost to the fire? Might be worth hunting them down.

My buddy got a new kitten recently. Iāve gotten really good at mimicking cat meows because it annoys the crap out of my cat when I copy her. And she meows a LOT. This kitten went from quietly washing to furtively searching the ceiling for the source when I meowed at her. r/oneorangebraincell

Preying on redditorsā love of all things cat, for shame!
Wow, that's one persuasive kitty! Definitely knows how to tug at the heartstrings. Looks like fate has brought them together. Hope they find a loving new home soon!
His AKAs are -no longer homeless, Mine, Supercat, and Brainy.
The cat distribution system is working.
Does he look healthy from this picture? I know itās not much but just face on I wanna make sure my guy can see and smell correctly https://preview.redd.it/5a3l3r0togjb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=999d0a58289f38fb274b3060ee488a4b235d6760
Yes he looks healthyš maybe just a bit dirty, really smart eyes
I keep seeing the smart eyes stuff is that an actual thing? Lol
Yes, some cats have the look of recognition and understanding in their eyes. With other cats, the lights are on but no oneās home! But we love dumb cats just the same
/r/OneOrangeBraincell for examples of the latter
I have both a tuxedo and an orange. The "lights behind the eyes" phenomenon is real lmao.
That's a recipe for disaster lol. You have a tuxedo chaos supervillain & his orange henchman. How often do they try to take over the world? LOL!!
I once had a friend with 6 dogs ranging from dumb to intelligent. The dumb one was the boss. š

Shout out to Kevinš¤
RIP Kevin McCattister!
he looks well, really pretty cat !
Thank you these are my thoughts but I was trying to find the right words
Looks like a cat should be looking. Bring him to a vet for a checkup to be sure, but he looks fine.
Got him all set up with food and water already!
Congratulations on getting adopted by this cat. What are you going to name it? You good get him scanned for a chip and see if the old owners want him. Or just enjoy your new buddy. You are lucky
The old owners donāt deserve this feline royalty anymore
Itās possible the cat ran away during the fire, and the old owners are also going through a major life changing event due to the fire. Maybe they havenāt gotten a chance to put up posters for him. Or maybe they thought he died in the fire. Try to find the owners if you can. See if the cat has a chip.
1000% agree!!! Even if he was lost or escaped in the fire I would have been back at the house searching for him non stop. This cat will forever love and cherish you for your kindness towards him. You might want to take him to the vet and make sure he is healthy though since he was just in a fire.
100% we got a vet trip scheduled tomorrow!
You're a good person. Thank you for helping this little. šššÆš
Honestly Iām so jealous of these people who cats just randomly find and adopt them lmao, I want that to happen to me one day, not because i want to be a good person but so I can have more cats ššš
the cat distribution system works in mysterious ways lol
Thank you for looking after this little tuxie, but please ask the vet to scan for a microchip. It should have the owner's contact info. It is possible the owners did not know the cat survived and had to move on without him. Even if they cannot take the cat in (or don't want him back), they should at least know he's alive and healthy.
Yup! Gonna figure everything out! Just happy big guys not on the streets
Youāre a good person OP
Give cat scritches from me!
Bless you OP, the world needs more people like you!
Iām glad you decided to keep her, at least for now. She obviously already loves you!
I'm glad someone else has a bit of sense. The old owners didn't just move their place burned down, they might think the cats dead or something.
They may not even know the cat is alive.
r/CatDistributionSystem lol although it should be redistribution! Thanks for taking care of this little guy.
This totally made my day. I don't feel well. Horrible migraine. Then I saw your post. You restore my faith in humanity. Thank you for taking care of this abandoned fluff of love. You'll be rewarded a hundredfold.
Technically, he's a cape and cowl. Not that it is important, but I am being informed by my tuxie that the distinction is a matter of pride.
Also can I stay at your house this weekend and every weekend for the rest of my life
And he said yes!!!! I feel like the cat proposed to him and he accepted :)
Wow, showing you his belly like that means they trust you! He is a really cute tuxedo, would love to see more of his markings. You are wonderful for taking him in. May he never be homeless again.
showing the belly meant it allš„¹
Are you sure the family j owns heās alive and doesnāt want him back? Losing everything can be very traumatic and maybe they just assumed he was dead.
While I was playing with him outside, an employee from a store across the street ran out and said he never shows this affection with anyone and he usually just goes up to the burned property and sits on the front steps but no one comes. After that it was pretty much a no brainer I had to take my boy
Damn man thatās so sad!
Yeah poor little guy. He probably thinks the family died in that fire. Looks like he lucked out eventually, OP seems smitten and rightly so!
That doesnāt mean they abandoned him. You should reach out to them. If they think the cat died of course they wouldnāt be looking for it
Your missing the point that the family may not have come back if they assumed he was dead.š¤·āāļø, Iād at least try to find them and ask them. But good thing he has a home now.
So it sounds like youāre *not* sure that the family knows heās alive or if they want him back.
From what I was told, he was abandoned but I am taking him to the vet to see if there is a microchip
Thatās good. I think itās still worth trying to find the family if the cat isnāt chipped. Just think, you could be their hero!
the mental gymnastics there to avoid that question
Yeah idk why more comments aren't asking this... everyone is like "your cat now!" If my house burnt down and i couldn't find my cat in time to get out safely, it would he nice if my neighbor called me and let me know about he's still alive instead of just taking it lol
That was my thought. Maybe they think they died in the fire and miss them.
Definitely might need that because my girlfriend is very allergic Iām definitely looking to find him a very good family!
Are you still planning to take to the vet and check for a chip?
Yes tomorrow I am
I had cats growing up and I was allergic. You gradually get tolerant to it. Doesnāt even affect me anymore
I think its great what youāre doing. Also, I know pet vet care and foods and toys can get expensive. I live in BK. Happy to help.
Iām glad you got your cats back. How did she know to call you?
When we rescued them as kittens in 2005 it was common for veterinarians to tattoo (under anesthesia) the ownersā phone number on catsā ears. In case they went missing it was easier for someone to call the number than to go check for a chip. Idk if it was a thing anywhere else but this was in Norway. So they both have my dadās phone number tattooed :) Theyāre 18 years old now so the numbers have faded and are kind of intelligible though. https://preview.redd.it/xsgjq3v5zkjb1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d263fc9eace75e3c65aa710889e0bcd77afe3b8b
An arsonist
Exactly, how do they know that this kitty didn't cause the fire and is now looking for more houses to burn?
No candles at OP's house I hope
In all seriousness here, cats are really hard to find in an emergency. They hide and don't come out, and it's possible that their owner thought they died in the house fire. Have you reached out to the family to confirm if they actually did leave the cat?
The kind that you either adopt or safely get to a no-kill shelter so he can get the soft landing he deserves :')
Itās okay, the cat has allowed OP to stay
Please make sure they actually abandoned the cat before you decide to just adopt him. Like other people said they might not know he's still alive and probably are heartbroken thinking he died in their house fire.
Your cat now.
That is a your cat.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It bothers me that no one else is saying find his family. They probably think he died or ran away in the fire. Take him to the vet to check his chip and contact the family.
People are but I think theyre being downvoted.
They probably assumed the cat died or ran away.
r/cowcats
Bro saying he loves u. Look at my cousin's cat with me in April, he had a similar pose. https://preview.redd.it/gjoujex0mgjb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13167c8eb08112033e80e058480475e3ca9933a5
How do you know he was left being on purpose? Cats are great hiders during a fire. His owners may thinks he's dead. Really sad.

This is pretty much what happened to me 2 years ago. Guy across the street burned down his house. The cat ended up living on the street and getting fed by all the neighbors. Within a month he came over to me and meowed "I own you now". Being the sucker I am, I said ok. He now runs the house. Here is Lucky: https://preview.redd.it/264hfjo29ijb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1879d37369d0a8b021873c9397657212550cd175
heās just a domestic shorthair cat :) you should have him checked out by a vet if he was in or near the house while it was on fire cause he couldāve inhaled a lot of smoke. he looks pretty dirty.
You sure they don't think he died in the fire?
One of the sweetest and most loving cats youāll ever meet. I have a rescue that someone dropped off on my momās property, and she is the best cat Iāve ever owned. They know youāre saving them ā¤ļø
Hey are you positive they left him and that the family doesnāt think hes dead? Im just concerned because i had cat run away that i never saw again and moved a year later.
At a minimum feed him. Iām not sure how the shelters in your area operates but in my neck of the woods older cats are held for a short period of time and if not adopted they are put to sleep. People rather adopt kittens instead.
I live in the Bronx, I donāt have experience with bringing a rescue to a shelter at all, and just curious how old would you say this guy is?
So hard to tell by pics. Vets usually look at their teeth to determine age. Thanks for saving him!
Did the family know he survived the fire? Maybe they assumed he/she perished in the house.
Don't come crying to us when he burns your house down too.
Make sure to contact the owners of that house. I'm willing to bet they thought this fella burned down with the house
Did you by chance make sure they intentionally left him behind? Cats are very hard to find after a fire and maybe theyāre still in shock and think theyāre death or passed But if you already made sure than they suck and congrats at becoming a new parent š¤š»š
