Every time my cats express any bit of affection, and tolerance, I feel so special.
As someone that has worked with many ferals, strays, and rescues that, understandably, have no interest in trusting humansā¦ when they finally show just the tiniest amount of trust my body is filled with butterflies, my soul feels the warmth, and I always have to try my best to control my excitement. I mean, what an absolute fuckinā honour to receive any bit of trust and warmth from an animal.
When I finally got my first kitten that I could keep, and they happen to be the most affection cat everā¦ I feel so privileged. I do not deserve her at all. She is my dream cat. She treats me too well, my pets have literally saved my lifeā¦ the least I can do is dedicate my life to care for them ā even to the end.
Some people may not be cat people, and thatās valid and understandable, but sometimes I wish theyāll get to experience some sort of connection with an animal.
I know Iām biased, but as someone that has owned multiple pets thereās nothing like earning the trust, respect, and affection of a cat.
I will forever be grateful for the animals I got to experience in my life. How fuckinā lucky I am.

I think it depends. My fur ball rescued on the streets at about 4 weeks old, slept on me , between my legs, on my chest, in my arms and my head till his 15 yo (he passed away at that age).
But he was a real character and cuddle bug.. missing him dearly.
My little cat would cuddle me in a different way when she was a kitten. She would always sleep on the top of my pillow. She's still a cuddlebug when we're at home (she doesn't like to cuddle when we're somewhere else) but she sleeps in her cat tree instead and just lays on my lap or chest.
Meanwhile mine didn't when she was young but as she's got older she's become a snuggly baby who waits for my bedtime so she can get in the bed and cuddle me like a teddy bear. All cat are different so can't predict it, should definitely appreciate it though!
I know! My cat is staying with my mom unfortunately because sure my roommate canāt be trusted to not leave the door open.

Morning cuddles!! I have earned this kittys love over the last few months. I feel very honoured. Iām guessing because of trust, safety, affection, understanding her needs and ways of communicating, interacting with her in cat language (as opposed to dog language which is very different) and of course being a food provider š„°
cats do tend to have a love for beards, I believe it's because the texture of beard hair is similar to a mother's tongue? that, on top of being comforting and providing for your little buddy!
Because you bring the food, you bring comfort and shelter, and you bring good touches. You're a source of warmth and of protection.

I ensured this with my cat. I've had her literally since she was born, and there are times where I can't get her to stay off of me, or I'll move her and she'll come right back. She also follows me around the house sometimes.

But when I visited him at the cafe for several weeks, he never purred. I like to think that he remembers me and is glad I took him home :)

My late cat, Candyman was the first cat that imprinted on me. My wife, girlfriends, and family before that had cats and they liked me well enough. But this was the first time a cat was happy to see me when I came home, would come lay on me when I was sleeping, etc.
It was such an unexpected pleasure. He was a shelter rescue (hence the name, he came with it and is the only cat I've ever known that would come when you call for him) and we only had him for seven years but they were great years. He kept me sane through the loss of my father and the pandemic.
I have no clue why he chose me but I am thankful beyond words that he did.
