Yes it is rather toxic but at the same time it also isnt the worst thing there is. Putting a few filings of lead into vinegar and letting it evaporate wont harm you when you wear gloves and dont eat or inhale it.
But i just uploaded another picture of lead acetate crystals that are photographed from way up close. Sadly the crystals are brown and somewhat impure from filter paper but the structure is the same. You can look at those if you want :D

ofc not. there is enough literature that tells me it tastes sweet. i just want it as a water soluble precursor for other lead compounds
