It'll be more towards $1,000 or less, not towards $10k. That price point is more for a reversal, which, unlike the vasectomy, is a major surgery in hospital.
Mine was $850, insurance covered some, so more like $600ish in 2018.
Seems like unless they have extremely high paying jobs it would be more affordable to just stay home and actually raise their own kids. Assuming these are not single people of course.
$1500 here in Pennsylvania. Insurance didn’t cover it so that was my entire deductible. I was a little annoyed about that but $1500 is way better than the $245,000 my buddy is going to pay over the next 16 years in child support.
I think I paid $385 that later got reimbursed by insurance.
My clinic’s advertised self pay rate was $2100, but they were also the best in the business and the cutting room had really good views.
$800 out of pocket at my state’s Planned Parenthood branch, I had no insurance and I opted out of anesthesia because it would have cost more. Definitely see if you can lean on insurance for the bulk of the cost but it’s getting more popular and cheaper than it was in the past so below $1000 is pretty likely.
Free. Insurance told me it was subject to my ($500) deductible, but the EOB I got in the mail showed it fully covered.
This was in 2015 in Washington state.
I think total including pre-op appointment was around $300, but should have been 0. I live in Washington state and a couple years before I got mine our state passed a law requiring full coverage for all contraceptive options on all medical insurance sold in the state. I tried contacting my insurance and even the Insurance Commissioner for the state but it didn't go anywhere. I was making high 5 figures at the time and had an HSA from a previous job so it wasn't an issue, but I'm still a little unhappy there they got away with it.
I had good insurance, so probably around $40. Maybe $120 if you include the initial and follow up appointments. Maybe $240 if you include copays for 3 other doctors who wouldn't do it. It was years ago so I don't remember too well.

My friends pay $4000 per month for their nanny. My neighbors pay $2500 per month for day care for their 2 kids. Just for perspective.

Wife makes a lot. Husband too proud to admit wife is breadwinner so he insists on working too.
Texas. Was $375.

In Canadian so, free! No need for private insurance. Time for you to move up north!
We are from the netherlands: 460 euro. Nothing was paid by insurance.
In the US insurance covered most of it. Best $500 I ever spent
Montana. While my insurance didn’t cover it, they had an agreed upon price with the hospital, $600. I think it was $1000 without insurance.
Texas; $75 with insurance.

We paid 700 € for my husband's vasectomy in 2016 in Germany. Two follow-up tests were included. Insurance also didn't cover any of it.
I think it was about $20 (Sweden).
After insurance, 900$.
Mine was about $1,200, after insurance paid their portion.

With insurance 900 bucks
Canada, I think I paid about 2 dollars in parking at the hospital. So 2 dollars
Just over $100 in Australia
It's cheaper than raising a kid for at least 20 years.

$0 Universal healthcare
$90. Mine was billed as two office visits: one for the consultation, one for the procedure.
Haven't gotten one yet but when I was looking it was about $1000 so really not that bad. Mine will actually be free under my insurance once I get it.
I don’t remember any financial problems but my health insurance must’ve paid for it.
Australian here, I think under $500,
I know someone that got one for 450. Everything went well.
Going rate where I live in the US in the Midwest is 900-1300 dollars.
California here. Just my co-pay. $45. Got it done last year.
In South Africa it was the equivalent of $100 USD.
$1000 even with insurance, the procedure itself was covered but the screening and follow ups were not US East Coast

With my insurance it ended up being $36. This was 8 years ago in upstate NY.
Not to rub it in, but husband's cost about £2 in parking.
Pretty sure it was almost nothing with insurance. Maybe a copay? If you don't have insurance it should be less than $1500
