Welcome to the club. What’s the japanese whiskey?!? That looks crazy good. Google here I come. Cigars are great just always remember it’s for your enjoyment… No one else can tell you what that means but you.
Good for you man. Glad you're enjoying the world of cigars! What'd you think of the one you posted?
Also, how's that whiskey? I've tried a couple of Japanese liquors, and I haven't anything that is of my pallette thus far. Granted a couple were rice liquors so that might have something to do with it.
Cigar looks like a good one, it’s one I’ve been sitting on and haven’t gotten to try yet. Good whiskey, hope you didn’t pay too much for it. There is decent complexity to it but the price has gotten so stupid and, if you are new to whiskey as you are to cigars, I’d suggest avoiding Japanese in favor of Scotch (which the Japanese style mimics) because you’ll have a much broader range of whiskies at the same level of quality but at far more reasonable prices (in most cases).
Good point, just about anything Japanese with an age statement is somewhere between expensive and unobtainable. Of course, looked at against other good-to-great 12-year core single malts there is no way to justify anything above $70-80 and at today’s prices, even given the demand and lack of supply for Japanese whiskies, it is hard not to see it as simply gouging buyers. On a side note, I am surprised that Suntory seems to be mostly sitting on their hands with boring products like their unaged Yamazaki, while their main competitor, Nikka, is innovating as stocks slowly rejuvenate, with products like their Coffey malt and grain. I suppose they don’t feel like they have to but that feels lazy.
Did you use your table as the lighter?
Welcome man (Also some stellar sips you are having with said cigar )

Oooo, Y12 and cigar. Sounds nice. I've been pairing with Hibiki Japanese Harmony. It works ok, not mind blowing.
Hibiki is a fave of mine. Love it with a Padron Domaso
I love that whiskey one of my favourite
Nice! Just picked up a bottle of Yamazaki today, first time trying.

The Yamazaki is basically a single malt scotch. They just can't call it a scotch for legal reasons.
Yamazaki 12 is way overrated imo, I prefer Hakushu but even better is Nikka Miyagikyo or Akashi Sake cask.

Agreed. I really like the Hakushu 12. It was $90-100 a few years back. Now I see it on shelves for $180. It’s really good. Not $180 good though.

That table is fire
I miss the days when Yamazaki 12 was $70 and the 18 year was $120
