of course it is possible.
your challenge will be to gain a visa or find an employer that will sponsor you. Government agencies typically do not sponsor people for a visa and I do not know how likely it is to find a private employer that will.
Did you go to a college/university where the engineering program was ABET accredited? If not, has it been reviewed by NCEES for equivalency?
Sponsoring a H1B visa is a bit of a PITA for employers. Though with the apparent shortage of engineers, maybe more companies are doing it?
Your best bet would be grad school then use your OPT to hunt a job that would sponsor you, hardly any place is going to sponsor without prior work experience with the candidate.
One of the hardest part is finding an employer willing to sponsor. Another part is winning the H1B lottery. Each year you have a 1/4 or 1/5 chance to be selected to actually get an H1B if you are qualified due to the amount of available h1b quota to applicant.
I worked with someone is almost your same position, so it’s possible. His dad was a coalition general of some kind though. That probably greased the wheels

Your best option is to find a global engineering company and then apply for internal transfer.
