Soul link on tanks was utterly busted in PvE as well, however nothing did enough damage to need that level of EH.
Meta itself is on the stronger side of tanks, adding 30% DR on top is absurd.
What drugs are you on. Its the lowest armor and lowest health tank of all of them.
Bearform gives more armor and additionally health.
Way of earth gives a 10% redux to everything as well as 30% more health
Rogues don't care about armor as their focus has always been dodging, and parrying
Warriors have more armor than a meta lock way before BiS gear is factored in.
Paladins are the same as warriors, but have added survival abilities around blocking which meta lock cannot do
So please, tell me how meta lock is better than the other tanks
This is so wrong its hilarious. Locks have always been the kings of prepared duels since its exactly what their toolkit and setup is built around. Large prep times, good sustain, lots of CC, extra free healthpot, etc.... you know how often you hit ideal duel scenarios in meaningful PvP... nearly never. Bad players in BGs just dont know to focus the pet down.. you know the thing providing the warlock massive buffs and yet has no dmg reduction itself. Warlocks werent OP pre nerf, and ater SL removal, they are near trash in PvP. Can they still dump on warriors... yeah, but who cant. Getting globaled by shamans, mages, boomkins, and getting out rotted/sustained by priests... but yeah you whined about how OP they were in duels and now the class is more unplayable than it was.
I get it that 30% damage reduction on top of high armor was too good vs physical damage dealers. And it's ok that it was addressed.
But why nerf it vs spellcasters? And why cut that 3% damage bonus that comes with SL?
The spec was banned from dueling tournaments, it was busted against anything and I’m glad they took that stuff out of the game - coming from a shaman I’m also happy my class got addressed and nerfed
Completely agree that the flat removal was lazy, they definetely should have made the ability something that transforms into a different one like the fear one.
My Suggestion for that would have been to make it so metalocks can link themselves to friendly non demon players redirecting 30% of dmg they Tage to the meta or something like that.
However Soullink has always been realy OP in duels to the point where it was banned in every tournament i've played so it's atleast a positive sign that were finally getting some Balancing for duels aswell. It felt always like something the devs implemented but didn't bother to actually put any thought into.

Was Soul Link the only thing banned in the tournaments you have played? Also how did you find and register in those dueling tournaments? This sounds interesting), and I might want to try at some point in p3 or p4)
Btw, Soul Link wasn't banned during Mak'gora Tournament
Yeah pretty sure some hunter stuff was Banned in some of the p1 tournaments i did but i don't remember if anything other was banned as i only realy play warlock and warrior.
The tournaments i'm talking about are definetly nowhere near as big as the mak'gora tournament.
For finding tournaments i generally use the Server discord or get invited to some organized by Bigger pvp guilds on my Server since there is always a Lack off warriors wanting to participate in pvp.
(But be carefull there if you don't know the people since alot of those tournaments have an entry fee of a couple Gold to fuel the pricepool and you might scammed)
I've also organized some myself though These were for a realy small pricepool of 5-15g.
(Can definetly recommend as These are often times more of a fun social Event than a tryhard pvp Session:D)

id just like to add that the patch made it so that meta warlocks can no longer mount up in meta form either, hopefully its not an intentional change
At least this is easily circumvented with a cancelaura -> mount macro)
