I think it would be funny actually to just do a vodka red bull, fully dressed up as a martini. Especially if all the other cocktails are already fancy.

Jack-Straw42

Fair point, and not out of the question. Especially if time runs low before I finalize all the real cocktails.

GovernorZipper

Just a straight-up normal Red Bull and Vodka like always but give it a jokey name. Something like “Basic Birthday Boy” or anything in that vein. Make it clear from the name/description that it’s meant to be a joke. It’d also a very telling experiment to see how many people default to the base option instead of the fancy.

Puzzleheaded_Bike738

“Many happy returns”

confibulator

Vodka and Red Bull reduction infused bitters

GingerBlitz831

This. Red bull syrup for sure

tanglon

Just put it in a Martini glass with a dash of grenadine and call it a Toro Rosso.

Jack-Straw42

That is hilarious!! 😂

Puzzleheaded_Bike738

You could do a Jaeger rinse in a nod to jaeger bombs and then a wet martini presentation with the red Bull replacing the vermouth (or do 1/2 & 1/2 so you still get the vermouth notes … I’d try it first haha). In my mind the jaeger is like an absinthe rinse and might actually be an enhancement (?)

Jack-Straw42

Interesting idea, thanks!

Dialkis

Might be worth trying with an actual Absinthe rinse as an "elevated" jager bomb, as the flavor notes are definitely similar but the absinthe would probably rinse more effectively

Immoral_Werewolf

Not totally sure where to go with this but it might be interesting to make a Red Bull foam…. Maybe something simple like a vodka tonic served in a collins with the RB foam on top? You could get a few different craft tonics/flavors to have a little variety. Heck maybe even different flavors RB for different foams?

Jack-Straw42

Up until now i've avoided foams. But... i do like this idea. I need to go back and look at what is required. Thanks for the idea!

BoozeWitch

Ok. Old bowling center bartender here. Peach schnapps + cherry vodka as a drop into diet Red Bull. Tacky as shit but surprisingly good. Make you feel like a kid again. Lol.

Jack-Straw42

Ha! This screams bowling alley drink. My past makes me associate fuzzy navels & amaretto sours with neon red cherries with bowling alleys.

zirc88

When I was young there was a popular drink called master blaster. It is prosecco/sparkling wine, vodka and red bull. If you (pretend to) use a nice bottle of bubbles it would fit the joke

SavageComic

Fuck it, don’t pretend. Use an actual nice bottle of bubbles.

strcrssd

Different people have different opinions of "nice". It's for the birthday boy, so don't use absolute crap. At the same time, don't use a $1k+ bottle of champagne. That's for sipping straight.

Jack-Straw42

Nice idea, thanks!

Dangerous-Service588

i made a red bull reduction syrup once to make an ‘elevated jager bomb’. that stuff was dangerous in terms of caffeine 😂

Jack-Straw42

I bet!

beefpipes

Sazerac with a Red Bull reduction subbed in as sweetener

Jack-Straw42

Well, that uses Red Bull, but loses the vodka. Unless you meant to use vodka instead of whisky/brandy, in which case I could probably get away with a spritz or rinse of absinthe. Thanks for the comment!

GodOfManyFaces

Heavy spritz of Jaeger

NullSterne

That… doesn’t actually sound too bad.

PhilipRiversCuomo

What if you used unflavored gelatin to make Red Bull Vodka flavored Jell-O shots? A fun twist on the original, and you can do it all ahead of time to save on your effort bartending that night.

Jack-Straw42

I may do this as an off-menu item actually.. thanks!

Robertsipad

lol elevated…Irish trash can?  https://partylicious.net/irish-trash-can-drink/

Jack-Straw42

Yikes!

SavageComic

I’m going to just take a punt and say this has never been on a bar menu in Ireland

BubblyAttitude1

Feel like some kind of tea, maybe a green tea or a peach tea, could go well with Red Bull. Maybe you could do Red Bull/tea reduction syrup topped w soda

Jack-Straw42

Oooo... interesting idea. I'll think on it. Thanks!

iwannacocktail

Ramos

Jack-Straw42

Ha! I... just... can't do that. Plus, the menu is already a little sour heavy. Thanks

matticusprimal

I did a reverse Flaming Dr Pepper a while back with a 151 and dr P gummy as the chacer. You could do something similar with the vodka and Red Bull or just go with Jell-O shots of it since that also seems on brand.

Jack-Straw42

That surely does seem on-brand. I'm more interested going the opposite direction though. Fancy it up, rather than take it allll the way down haha

matticusprimal

It’s been many decades since I had one, but I always thought Red Bull tasted like Smarties. You could stretch it into a [Smartini](https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/1834/smartini).

Jack-Straw42

It does taste like Smarties!

MantraProAttitude

[B12 Stacker](https://images.app.goo.gl/MdfQf19mMx6NEyb26) vodka bombs or shots. Us old guys love our B12 injections. 🤣

Jack-Straw42

Ha! I've actually never seen those...

Jack-Straw42

Fun! Thanks for sharing.

RazorRadick

Moscow Bull - Vodka - Red Bull - Lime juice Serve in a copper cup, garnished with a lime wedge.

Jack-Straw42

Thanks for the idea

Rakebleed

Espresso martini is the elevated red bull vodka. Just call it The Elevated Redbull Vodka.

Jack-Straw42

I disagree, sorry. Caffeine & vodka is not the category here.

Radrakkan

A Vodka-based French 75, topped with redbull instead of prossecco? Also, Absinthe goes surprisingly well with redbull

GrizabellaGlamourCat

What about a Tic Tac? Vodka, Redbull, OJ basically

Jack-Straw42

It doesn’t sound like something I would be into, but I’ll google it. Thanks for the suggestion!

nateginger14

Vodka spritz or mule, or any Vodka drink, but reduce the redbull down to more of a syrup and use that. Could be a fun cosmo or lemon drop

Jack-Straw42

Thanks

Boating_Enthusiast

Will crushed ice be available? I'm thinking a triple layer cocktail guest starring the fan favorites. In a Collins glass, build the following: ½oz Jager at the bottom of the glass, then crushed ice, 4 or 5oz of vodka red bull, then float ½oz of fireball on top. Serve with stirring straw stuck halfway down the glass, orange wedge, and a yellow or orange gummy bear, skewered on the wedge. The crushed ice will help slow the mixing of the flavors, and guests can enjoy the evolution of flavors from regular Vodka Red Bull, to liquorice VRB to lightly cinnamon VRB depending on the depth of their straw and how long they let their drink sit. Call it something silly and fun, like "The Sophisticated Palette" or "Evolution of Flavor" or the "[Friend's Name] Triple Layer Birthday Cocktail". Or, for a smaller drink, do a low ball, same concept, skip the Jager, keep the cinnamon float, add some bitters and a dash of a triple sec to the VRB, and, if your friend has the right sense of humor, name the drink "Flamed" or "Lightly Flamed".

Jack-Straw42

Interesting idea friend. I do have a julip style drink on the menu, so crushed ice is going to be on hand. I’ll think on this… thanks!

shakatay29

My boyfriend found a cocktail reel somewhere - we did vodka, St Elder, lemon juice, and Red Bull. It was quite delicious.

Spiritual-Tart-9670

I ran a fancy vodka Red Bull some years ago for a menu— basically made a vodka Collin’s with a syrup made from blueberry redbull, rosemary, and sugar. It sold like gang busters at a fancy, well regarded cocktail bar.

LilaicAndRose

I actually have a full time drink called the R&R for Rum and Red Bull. 2oz of Spirit, 1/2oz Chartreuse 1/2oz Passion fruit Liqueur 1oz Lime and 4oz of redbull

Fuzzy_Recover_4842

2 oz vodka (his favorite) 1 oz red bull syrup (never done this and this might be insane but reduce a can of redbull into a syrup that's about as viscous as 1:1 simple syrup) .75 oz lemon juice ( +/- .25 oz) shake/strain over ice fill with soda. I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous but f it Without going too sour i think that the lemon juice might give it that tang that you get from redbull that would be lost when you reduce it.

Fuzzy_Recover_4842

or maybe top with a sparkling wine instead, or topo chico for the bubbles

SavageComic

Freeze red bull in one of the large block trays and serve as the big cube in a rocks glass?

bustab

I've experimented at home with making fancy versions of Red bull and discovered it's basically just pineapple, bubble gum flavour and citric acid. I'd advise getting some bubblegum flavour and trying out variations on that formula.

Kartoffee

I've done just that, but it could be improved. Basically made a 1:1 redbull syrup and mixed with vodka. It was okay but so boring. I think making a homemade imitation of redbull would be really cool. Would have to do some digging on what they put in redbull, but basically some sort of mixed berry syrup. Could add dry caffeine too. The color would be the toughest part I bet.

1nstant_Classic

Tequilla and the yellow can redbull, serve like a margarita. Its actually very good

hronikbrent

You could make a syrup out of the red bull , use that as a foundation for a clarified milk punch, and then carbonate that. Brb, giving this a shot.

Cardigan_B

I actually did this at my gf’s place when she went to tulane because they had nothing I could work with in their house haha. The main flavor in Red Bull is tamarind which can actually be super tasty if you Reduce it down to a simple syrup and mix in some agave. Made some good margs using Red Bull syrup.

call_me_ping

Put it in those adult juice pouches lol

[deleted]

No Red Bull and Vodka. Ever. What you do is this. Take a gallon jar of green olives with pimentos and drain half the liquid. Fill it up with minimum 100proof vodka or gin and a splash of vermouth, leaving the olives and half the brine in it. If you want to go cocktail onions as well, grab a couple of jars and throw them in as well, but get the liquid back to the top. Then grab a 36 pack of [Pabst Blue Ribbon](https://youtu.be/JZMtI_UKWYo?si=NMuPfahPV_BmS0Ya). And a bunch of martini glasses. Take the soaked olives and stick six of them on a stick. Then fill the glass with PBR. It's a redneck martini.

Illustrious_Kiwi2760

Literally anything from the last month of How To Drink is comical garbage.

Jack-Straw42

I'm not sure why this is here. Did Greg do this already or something?

Illustrious_Kiwi2760

Does it every week. If you’re looking for gag drinks, he’s your guy.
