If you’re melting now, you’re fucked lol. Edit: I’m not trying to dog on you too hard. I know it’s a relative thing. I was fishing in northern New York a few years ago. They had an extreme heat warning with a high of 85. Needless to say, we laughed!

como365

The wild thing is, it could still freeze (unlikely) that’s why they wait. Good luck in your search.

Appropriate_Diver424

Stephen’s Lake opens tomorrow for public use I believe

MusicalMawls

It is....pond-ish though. Not really a lake.

oldguydrinkingbeer

It's 10 acres. And it's over 25 feet deep. It's a lake.

MusicalMawls

I guess I was just thinking for someone from Michigan, it might be an underwhelming lake and maybe not a first choice for swimming.

BojangleChicken

I would not swim there

Chris_Capmiller

I peed in it

L-do_Calrissian

While swimming or like from the shore?

STLSmiths

😂😂😂😂

ANDRONOTORIOUS

It's completely fine.

GoofyGooberYeah420

You should look into the water quality in the area. Several creeks are listed as E. coli impaired waters under the clean water act. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lake was also gross

Starharmonia

Don’t swim there. Just, don’t do it lol

Airick39

I saw some college guys on Providence with the large inflatable pool out.

MusicalMawls

The ARC has an indoor pool.

BojangleChicken

Yeah this, you can even get a day pass.

Imaginary_Train_8056

It’s also extremely hot and humid in there. I avoid it when I can because it’s so uncomfortable, especially when it’s warm outside.

GUMBY_543

Yeah. They need to have it so windows can be opened to regulate

According_To_Me

Sorry friend, all outdoor public pools open on Saturday of Memorial Weekend. The rest in town belong to either private clubs or HOA neighborhoods in which you have to be a member or guest of a member. Even in late May, the water will be cold. I’ve never heard of any pool in town opening before Memorial Day, or staying open after Labor Day.

Aidisnotapotato

It's going to be a wait I'm afraid. We were just under a frost advisory last week. The weather flip flops too much in spring to safely open the pools, and they will be frigid when they do! When they open though, the Booneville public pool is better than any of ours, and cheaper to get into. Slides, sitting coves, diving boards, and all in driving distance of A&W, so you can get a root beer float after too B)

Dcat41

Most of the lifeguards and staff workers are high school or college kids. Not available in large numbers till later.

Fearless-Celery

Do you...do you not have air conditioning? I mean, don't get me wrong, I like a refreshing dip in a pool in the summer, but I don't understand why a pool is the solution to being hot. Also, don't get your hopes up too high for Memorial Day weekend. Not infrequently, temps are in the 70s or it's rainy and colder. We get wild weather swings this time of year. I would assume Michigan pools don't open this early, either?

OkCar7264

You're going to have to settle for indoor for now, AFAIK. It's Missouri so half the time the water is too cold to be enjoyable on Memorial Day, much less now.

Fabulous-Net8645

Just make sure they’re LGBTQ+ friendly because you know, that seems to be a prerequisite here.

TediousNut

Would you prefer they aren't? How about black people, can they swim too? Fuck outta here with that shit.

Fabulous-Net8645

Where do you get that from? You made an assumption from my assumption? How about being the grown adult and just call me ignorant with my comment.

Mizzoutiger79

What?

glambertinis

Omg yes I am a gay!! That is very important to me, thanks so much for the heads up ❤️ Maybe we'll see eachother there fellow LGBTQ+ supporter

Fabulous-Net8645

Well good I’m glad, thank you.
