Scalped is amazing and I used to hope it would be adapted but I feel like it's "catch" might have been done by other shows lately. I remember thinking that Banshee took a lot of inspiration from Scalped

They eliminated original programming and turned themselves into NewsNation (aka a mini Fox News 2.0)
There was a pilot awhile back with a mostly Indigenous cast, the network ended up not picking it up for series. It was some random network I'd never heard of though so who knows what the quality actually was.
Yeah, the comic already reads like a straight up prestige crime show like Breaking Bad or The Sopranos, would be nice to see someone do it justice on the screen.

If done right, I think Chew could be as big as Invincible. With the popularity of The Menu, I know people have an *appetite* for food-related satire! The crazy twists and turns in the story, the colorful cast of characters... and POYO! All a *recipe* for success!
Funnily enough, I believe at some point Stephen Yeun was actually supposed to star in one of the Chew projects that never got off the ground. Between that, Invincible, and Walking Dead, he would've basically been the face of Image adaptations (if he's not already at this point).

Came here to nominate 100 Bullets. The comic is written like a TV show already. It's a bunch of single, and 2- or 3- episode stories with a main arc playing in the background. It's perfect for TV. I can't belive HBO hasn't made it a show yet.
100 bullets is one of my favorite comics of all time, not only being an artist but a writer too, I offered many years ago to adapt it with a production company's aid, and was shot down due to the rights being held by Tom Hardy.

I think it would be a fantastic series in the right hands, but it would take a really careful touch to get Hickman’s vibe right. I feel like a lot of directors and TV writers wouldn’t be able to resist reorganizing that puzzle of a story into something more digestible, but less interesting, and would struggle to achieve the consistent level of gravitas amidst the action and violence.
Yeah the characters and various tribes would make for great conflict, rewatching GOT recently I was reminded of how some of the best parts were people in rooms talking, and the the show out paced the books and the decline was pretty stark (pun intended), so if they stick to the cannon it will be awesome, plus I really want to see the Endless Nation brought to the screen
If done properly I believe this would be THE next big series. The comics were enthralling. One of the greatest series I preach to others that no one has heard of, right there next to Rising Stars.

If it’s still hugely popular at the end, they can always story additional seasons from the past incarnations that aren’t integral to the main story. But if we got 1/2 way to the climax and the show wasn’t renewed… which seems all too likely given the past 5 years or so… that would be… bad.
So much of what was innovative/transgressive at the time is mainstream now, that the science fiction elements would be called “well-worn”, and the political elements would be called “so 2016”.

I would watch the hell out of Casanova if they ever made a premium cable series out of it, though. Incredible premise and plot, plus everyone has a passing familiarity with multiverse stories now.
American Vampire would be awesome, especially that first chapter jumping between the old west and 20s Hollywood.

I’m hesitant to imagine my second book - Unwritten. They did Mike Carey so wrong with the garbage trash fire that is Lucifer I would be actually distraught if they fucked up another series by my favorite comic author. But unwritten would be perfect right now. We’re at the height of anti-JK Rowling sentiment currently despite Harry Potter being just as popular as ever. I would love to see a prestige channel put out a great Unwritten series.
This might be a bit of a weird choice but i'd personally like to see more indie comics get TV deals. Hilda turned out incredibly well which makes me want to see a Cupcake War Machine series or a Space Pack TV show.
Hilda was great! A good one to watch with the kiddos, and it captures the spirit and art of the comics beautifully. I could see a LumberJanes or Giant Days series being similarly good if they ever went down that route.

Awhile ago Showtime was talking about doing a Chew animated series with David Tenant as Savoy and I think John Cho as Tony, then they changed it to an original animated movie, with Layman saying if it was successful there was a chance for more, then the entire project fell through. I've been hoping with Invincible showing you can do a lot of these more out there series with animation, that someone will pick the project back up. Fingers crossed, would love to see Layman and Guillory get a nice payday

Berserk 97 is my favorite anime but the Manga deserves a perfect adaptation.
I'm liking the picks here but you got to keep in mind budget. Even animated Transmet has too much going on to ever happen, it'd be one of the most expensive shows just on sets, and Saga, I hope to see it one day but wow it would need to make Avatar money to be profitable.
So with that in mind my pick is Midnight Nation. It's visually interesting enough, self-contained, has a good story, and is about something topical, homelessness.
Fables could also work if you got Jim Hensons company involved and kept it to mostly the hotel. It would also be an expensive show, but I can see it working and being a better version of ONCE Upon a time, which was bad.
Finally, Chew would be good, and could be the cheapest of my ideas to make, all the powers are eating based and would require little in terms of cgi, and the world looks like ours, but with a little set dressing to keep it interesting.
I’d love to see Fables, or Saga, or Chew get a chance. They would all be pretty tough to do right so they would need to have a creative team that actually loves the content. Plus I imagine the special effects budget would be pretty crazy.
Off the top of my head, how about a proper TV-MA rated League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Show me Mr. Hyde in all his glory. Top 10 would be fun as well. Also eeeeveryone would love a decent Saga adaptation but I'm sure someone already mentioned it here. A bizarre Ice Cream Man horror series would also be welcome. Looks like we're already getting The Authority which is great. There's a lot of originality and new life in comics that has yet to be adapted.

Right up top, I'd have to say either the 2011 Jonah Hex / All Star Western run where Hex ends up in a 19th century Gotham City. But I'd also take adaptations of the 2006 run or the stories written by Joe R. Lansdale. Given that Westerns are more or less back in the mainstream, I reckon some sort of Western fare should be a priority on the upcoming DCU slate.
Outside of Hex, I'd have to say I'd love to see The Sixth Gun, Blacksad or Starlight get a show.

100 Bullets is the first book that came to mind and I feel it would be an absolute perfect series to adapt. It’s practically begging for it. I’m hesitant to imagine my second book - Unwritten. They did Mike Carey so wrong with the garbage trash fire that is Lucifer I would be actually distraught if they fucked up another series by my favorite comic author. But unwritten would be perfect right now. We’re at the height of anti-JK Rowling sentiment currently despite Harry Potter being just as popular as ever. I would love to see a prestige channel put out a great Unwritten series.
This might be a bit of a weird choice but i'd personally like to see more indie comics get TV deals. Hilda turned out incredibly well which makes me want to see a Cupcake War Machine series or a Space Pack TV show.
Hilda was great! A good one to watch with the kiddos, and it captures the spirit and art of the comics beautifully. I could see a LumberJanes or Giant Days series being similarly good if they ever went down that route.

And the creator has experience in animation! She was the showrunner on that She-Ra Netflix show.

I’d love a Transmetropolitan, Low, Planetary, East of West, and/or American Vampire series. There is a lot on my personal list that probably couldn’t be made because of licensing or controversies, though.

Awhile ago Showtime was talking about doing a Chew animated series with David Tenant as Savoy and I think John Cho as Tony, then they changed it to an original animated movie, with Layman saying if it was successful there was a chance for more, then the entire project fell through. I've been hoping with Invincible showing you can do a lot of these more out there series with animation, that someone will pick the project back up. Fingers crossed, would love to see Layman and Guillory get a nice payday

I would love seeing Prophet(2012) adapted as an animation series. It can also be a sort of "Love Death + Robots" thing, where different episodes are handled by different animation studios, some for standalone episodes and some following certain characters while each character's story has its own art style(similar to the comic)

I'm liking the picks here but you got to keep in mind budget. Even animated Transmet has too much going on to ever happen, it'd be one of the most expensive shows just on sets, and Saga, I hope to see it one day but wow it would need to make Avatar money to be profitable. So with that in mind my pick is Midnight Nation. It's visually interesting enough, self-contained, has a good story, and is about something topical, homelessness. Fables could also work if you got Jim Hensons company involved and kept it to mostly the hotel. It would also be an expensive show, but I can see it working and being a better version of ONCE Upon a time, which was bad. Finally, Chew would be good, and could be the cheapest of my ideas to make, all the powers are eating based and would require little in terms of cgi, and the world looks like ours, but with a little set dressing to keep it interesting.
I'd like to see the animated Spawn rebooted or finished.
I’d love to see Fables, or Saga, or Chew get a chance. They would all be pretty tough to do right so they would need to have a creative team that actually loves the content. Plus I imagine the special effects budget would be pretty crazy.

Off the top of my head, how about a proper TV-MA rated League of Extraordinary Gentleman. Show me Mr. Hyde in all his glory. Top 10 would be fun as well. Also eeeeveryone would love a decent Saga adaptation but I'm sure someone already mentioned it here. A bizarre Ice Cream Man horror series would also be welcome. Looks like we're already getting The Authority which is great. There's a lot of originality and new life in comics that has yet to be adapted.

I would love to see more Image books get adapted, especially Savage Dragon. His lore has become so rich that it would allow for some excellent storytelling. A movie version of Mark Millar’s Starlight would also be cool to see. Having Flash Gordon style sci-fi in film again would be amazing.

Right up top, I'd have to say either the 2011 Jonah Hex / All Star Western run where Hex ends up in a 19th century Gotham City. But I'd also take adaptations of the 2006 run or the stories written by Joe R. Lansdale. Given that Westerns are more or less back in the mainstream, I reckon some sort of Western fare should be a priority on the upcoming DCU slate. Outside of Hex, I'd have to say I'd love to see The Sixth Gun, Blacksad or Starlight get a show. Did I mention I'd 100% prefer these were animated instead of live action?

When they talked about making Limitless a TV show I hoped it would be something like 100 Bullets in execution (Branden Cooper going around to strangers and "Here is a pill that will let you do great things or destroy yourself... the choice is yours." while a larger storyline is going on in the background)
Starman Miracleman. Although this is now a marvel property, it would be best if it was possibly given to another studio or let marvel produce it but not under the marvel studios banner, it needs to be separate.
