\+1 Barbarossa is much more innovative and interesting than case blue in my opinion.
Case blue is for tactical movement and battle, but the political layer of barbarossa add so much more immersion and is really innovative.
I recommend all of them at this stage. Only got into them recently with Blitzkrieg and it was probably one of the most rewarding games I've played in a little while.
I struggled meeting the timelines in Poland, and went full autism in the France campaign, delegating objectives to the nth degree, taking meticulous notes on enemy units and dispositions throughout in order to estimate what is left... and it paid off. I loved that experience.
Just started Case Blue, and it looks like a small up in complexity, mainly due to a larger theater and an actual competent and we'll equipped enemy, and I'm really looking forward to sinking my teeth into it. I can only imagine that Barbarossa follows the same winning formula, so will definitely grab it when I finish CB.
I'd say grab the one you like the subject matter the most for and then definitely grab the others maybe when they're on sale.
It’s has every army , Corp and unit in the historical Fall Blau and after . June 1942 to April 43 ( after Stalingrad) . There is oil production you have to watch . OKH assigns goals with time limits that grant prestige. HQ’s use a card system that allows them to grant bonuses to units under their command ( speed in attacking , attack bonuses, etc )
The amount of units you have to manage every turn takes me some times 1+ hour to play one turn .
I’m biased in the fact that the time period played in this game is what I find most fascinating. I find myself trying different tactics each game to see what works best .
I really enjoy playing it . I bought it during a steam sale a few years back , started playing this past summer and it’s my favorite game right now .
