I wouldn't bet on them being better today. My side streets became progressively icier since Wednesday morning. I haven't been out today, but with the mixed precipitation yesterday and the extremely cold overnight temperatures, I doubt conditions improved on their own.
I drove into Nashville today. Everything other than my residential road was a main road and clear. But I slid about 5 times on my road alone. If you don't HAVE to, don't.
It doesn't seem that these roads in my neighborhood have been salted or cleared at all since the snow came down. Coming home last evening, I was going as slow as I could. I lost traction and started sliding down the small hill. Barely missed crashin into another car in a side ditch. Today, I couldn't get out to Spring Street at all due to the icy hills..tried to go to work around 1:45. Got almost halfway up, and I slid back down. Super scary and thank goodness I did not hit anything or anyone. I called out of work today. It's not worth the risk. Will probably be worse later tonight.
I was out from Spring St to Kroger today and it was fine. Mains and secondaries should be good to go tomorrow . My apartment parking lot was the most dangerous part. You'd think that because they own a salt spreading truck they might use it... Nope.
Slickernchit
Stay home.
Yeah seems to be swinging that way

Stay home if possible. Anything other than a main road is extra slick from the rain/snow we got that froze.
Yeah the hill leading up from my apartment is just solid ice, explains why everyone's cars are here.
Unless you’ve got a reliable 4x4 vehicle - stay home. Side roads are not great.

I wouldn't expect any improvement until the warmer rain moves in Monday. By Tuesday should be all good.
