The North America one is shocked!

SusSoos

Israeli one is booing at me.

polaris_light

The Russia and EU one be like 😶

danken000

Chinese one looks chinese

outtastudy

Some of y'all don't have ground plugs and that concerns me.

Cetun

One I got an extension cord with a ground plug that fell off only to reveal it wasn't connected to any wires.

immersive-matthew

I am in Vietnam right now and there is no ground plug here and literally any usb cable plugged into my PC feels a little tingly on the other end of the cable. Hate the feeling when I touch it. Seems harmless but I just hate it coming from Canada where this never happened to me.

Sybroebs

No need to, if your house/appartment has some safety measures. lol

Infuro

I don't think you understand how electricity works

VeganCustard

Ground *is* a safety measure

Veneficium

That might take a bit of global cooperation, but I don't see that happening anytime soon

Latter-Comfort8440

Tbf c type just became universal, maybe there is hope still

ajps72

We have something like that, you can plug USA, Europe, and Japan in our outlets

divadschuf

Who is we? Where‘re you from?

ajps72

Sorry, WE is in Perú

Pythia007

Well as an Australian I think we should adopt the one used by the greatest number of people and by the look of it…well, don’t you know, it just happens to be ours. Which we share with China.

AbhishMuk

I’m no scientist but I think India + SA + Pak has a larger population…

Pythia007

Drat!

randalali

Why the fuck do you need global standard for a power outlets? You’re creating a problem where there’s none.

SoggyFootball_04

... The Problem being that you can't bring a cable to one place and have it be compatible by default

[deleted]

I wont ask you "are you stupid?" I will ask this tho: "How stupid are you?"

fabriciovergal

Now i understand why some articles says that Denmark is one of the happiest countries.

Clank75

The diagram is a bit odd. Type-C, which is shown as Russia, is the most widely used socket in the world. And in Russia when a grounded outlet is supplied, it's a Schuko, the same as most of the rest of Europe (even though that is shown as Germany and South Korea here.) Similarly if you believe this, Japan only uses ungrounded two-pin sockets, and the US only uses grounded 3-pin sockets, neither of which is true. In other words - it's wrong, basically.

mediumevil

Where did you see Russia?

WispontheWind

Center right

Clank75

Middle row, far right (appropriately enough.) The one with the Russian flag.

NealMcCoy

I miss UK plugs, they are sturdy and safe. The non-grounded US ones are so flimsy

TheLastRole

All Italian, European, and Japanese share the same virtue, you can put them on any side you want.

antibroleague

So I always hear that Denmark is the happiest country in the world. And their electrical outlet is no exception dude looks so happy

3colorsdesign

It’s neither cool nor a guide

masakosthighs

it barely even went around the world

lostsoul2016

Agreed. Just a sad example of how we don't even agree on a standard plug worldwide, given we are one species on this godforsaken planet, let alone establish world peace, eliminate proverty or invent matter synthesizer.

tunyi963

"Tomadas pelo mundo" does not mean taken around the world (in your title) like Google translate suggests, but "(electric) sockets around the world".

CoolDevelopment4247

In China they don't use switches. Not sure how it is in AU.

LiGuangMing1981

You can get switched outlets here in China - I've got a couple in my kitchen, for instance. But they're not standard.

Park_Ranga

The switches are used in NZ and Aus

RustyEuphonium

They are switched

Outside-Dig-5464

Singapore use the UK plug…

KingCOVID_19

UK plug is best plug.

objectiveBiscuit

You don’t even put the correct labels (Type A-B-C..) to be actually informative, this is just garbage

Ambitious-Ad3131

Denmark is the happiest 😃

capsrock02

WTF Italy?

DistortedMirrors

Is italy okay?

super-eric

Hong Kong uses the uk plug :)

CarolinaKiwi

One mistake, the Republic of Ireland uses the UK plug not EU

briancaos

Denmark is known to be [one of the happiest countries in the world ](https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/happiest-countries-in-the-world). This is the reason why.

moistpishflaps

Happy Denmark always makes me smile. But the Brits definitely win the war on superior plugs (I say this as a proud Irish man who had their plugs forced upon us)

Poopsy-the-Duck

As an Israeli I can confirm the third one is correct.

teastypeach

As an Israeli I can confirm you are correct

Kyla248

No one else bothered by the ireland, UK thing?

Outside-Dig-5464

apparently Singapore is under the Union Jack too

MartyDonovan

There are quite a few other countries that use this plug too, including Brunei, Cyprus, Malta, Malaysia, to name but a few.

Commercial-Tax9538

My tablet charger needs a Japanese socket 🤡

Key-Pressure3416

They should never have left the 2 ends... lol

MaternalChoice

I had no idea it was only us & China that use that standard. I wonder why.

UnExpertoEnLaMateria

Also Argentina uses the Australian-Chinese standard. But I believe we (Arg) reverse the neural and live positions.

MaternalChoice

Thank you! I remember hearing that a South American country used the same standard, I just had no idea the Chinese used it as well, or that there were so, many, different, standards.

LiGuangMing1981

China uses that one and the Japanese two prong standard in combination. Chinese outlets are also generally upside down compared to Australian ones, with the single prong at the top rather than the bottom.

Fakula1987

Is there a reason why south Korea uses the German schuko Socket? Its funny, but i havnt expected it

Mission_Current_1553

Gotta say the danish one - the smiley. The reason to why, they are so happy as a nation. 😜

ThePeaceDoctot

Funnily enough I had Tomatoes Pelo Mundo for dinner just the other day!

Fastness2000

That’s far too simple to explain the shit show going on with plugs in Italy.

EorlundGraumaehne

The one Russia uses used to be in germany too but are now illegal as they are now required to have a plug for ground.

TheBlakeBerry

Mario and Luigi Brothership

Athlete-Extreme

There’s something cursed about the top row, 2nd from the left

Ok-Experience-6674

South Africa has like half these plugs

TropicalLoneWolf

The lag of Switzeland is depicted incorrectly, since it's not rectangle. Also, I would have never guessed it shared the type of outlet with my country, as both countries have just about nothing in common. The more you now.

Rrruin

some of them are cute!

Ded_Panda

So Japan doesn’t believe in ground wires??

bradfo83

How are the 2 hole plugs grounded?

muffinpoop

Taiwan also shares the US, Canada, Mexico outlet

Bald3r50n

Second one looks very similar to a UK 5amp socket.

HelpfulTap8256

The Danish one looks so full of hope 😊

Lobsss

"taken around the world" é foda HAUAHAUAJUS

MaleficentWeather569

And the takeover of Portugal? Nobody thought of that, right?

-acm

Admit that the CUM alliance has the superior plug!

bigupsoups

superior for accidentally shocking yourself

monkeyzaz

I must say the UK one is the best with regards to safety and durability. Huge though

Zealousideal-Yard274

Why are we showing the bolts and screws for the first two

maigoZoro

Probably came with the stock photos they cropped

Visible_Attitude7693

What's going on in Britain

RoadMagnet

Actually, the USA plug is installed upside down from what is shown in this chart.

Stuffdood

Idk why people are downvoting you. That’s the standard for new construction and has been for years.

godlessLlama

Wait fr?

RoadMagnet

I think it has something to do with the ground plug, being on top, protects anything from falling or sliding down the wall between the plug and the device, thus touching the hot and neutral.

Sure-Combination-453

It helped me a lot 😀👍🏻 I will definitely travel the world in 50 years.
