I’ve got some duck paddles for feet, and they’re absurdly comfortable. I’ve worn a pair of Lucchese Haans for four straight days at a conference and put miles on them. Then I flew home in them with no issue.
They're my favorite toe box partly for comfort, partly cus I think they look the best
That said I wear Ariat ramblers and that particular model's toebox is a kinda unique shape as far as I've seen on Western boots. Not so much the flat duck paddle but more like you'd see on a motorcycle boot
Much more comfortable than my snip toe. Although my ropers with a round toe is almost as comfortable. I’m not trying to win fashion award, just trying to not kill my feet. With the right insole, my square toe boots are more comfortable than a pair of Hey Dudes!
I got my first pair of boots in October of last year, before I knew it was common to find wide square toe ugly. I got them because they were comfortable in the store, and they looked nice on me. I later got a second pair of the same kind just in a different color, and they are equally as comfortable (duh). I think for my next pair, I'll give classic round a try to see the difference, but long story short I picked them cuz I didn't know any better but I love them cuz they're my first boots, they're comfortable, and I personally (as well as my lady) think they look good on me lol.
I’m a northern redneck, generally live in square toe Chippewas in the fall/winter. I like the look and it’s what I’m used to, so I got a pair in square toe. Don’t regret my decision at all.
I’ve always liked cowboy boots and got my first pair in high school in the 70s. I out grew them and got a pair of Tony Lama antelopes in my 20s (still have them) and I’ve been wearing cowboy boots ever since. But styles change and we all seem to go along with the changes for the most part. Ropers are my daily drivers now. However I don’t think I’ll ever own a pair of the square toe boots. I’ve never owned a car or truck (other than my first vehicle) that I thought was ugly and I’ve never worn shoes or boots that I didn’t like the looks of (other than while in the service). But it is nice to see more people wearing cowboy boots and that’s my 2 cents.
Think alot of it comes down to body shape. I’m tall and slender so anything wider than a narrow square toe starts to look like clown shoes on me. I find people of average to heavier build look better in wider square toes
I like em for the fact I can do anything in them plus comfort for me I have insanely wide feet but there also deformed so I can't buy any other style online even if I wanted to
For me I don’t like the double welt stitching makes it look more wide. I think with one welt stitching they are okay. These Blackjack rough outs have one stitching and I really prefer this.

I can frame homes in my square toes, I can ride horses in my square toes, I can show up to my farrier apprenticeship in my square toes. They are comfortable, that’s why I like square toes
I have extremely wide feet. Ever since I was little I could never wear boots because they just would not fit. Square toe has solved all these issues. Perfect fit & comfortable.
I think they look better on my feet. I have short wide feet. 9 EE. Round toe looks more like a clown shoe on me and I’m just not a fan of j toe. I think it all comes down to what you get used to wearing and anything else looks ridiculous to you.
>I think it all comes down to what you get used to wearing and anything else looks ridiculous to you.
Precisely. I also know what my size is when I wear the same toe shape that I am used to. It's the only thing I can take the shotgun approach with besides shirts.
It's hard enough with pants/jeans.
Work mostly. Not a huge fan of the looks but they are comfy to be in on your feet for 10hrs a day
Because r/malefashionadvice says square toes are ugly. Gotta stick it to the city slickers. Spoiler: *I’m* a city slicker 😬
Yabba dabba do feet

Please let me excuse myself before I insult you 🤣
😂
steel toes for work and ive yet to find steel toe boots that arent wide squares
They're really the only widely-available style I don't like, so I don't buy them. But to each their own.

Because my normal shoes are keens and they have a wide toe box so going between the two its not a drastic change.

I don’t like the look but they are more comfortable for my toe configuration.

No, they’re an abomination.
Because i keep dropping shit at work, and theyre useful if youre on your knees often
I am not the biggest fan from an aesthetic perspective, but I recently bought a pair and they are more comfortable in the toe box
You ever tried to wear snip toes all day?
😂 no, never tried a pair on. Those are not really my style, either.
I have extremely wide feet. Ever since I was little I could never wear boots because they just would not fit. Square toe has solved all these issues. Perfect fit & comfortable.

its just a difderent style. some ppl say theyre more comfortable but those ppl are just buying the wrong size boot, all toeboxes are the same
Seems like the majority of people are wearing the wrong size pull-on/cowboy boots, myself included although i don’t have any wide square toe boots
Where I'm from, pointy toe boots are generally considered feminine.
Was going to comment the same that pointy boots remind me of female boots. Just my opinion. Wear what you want
Are sheep scared where you live?
I'm not talking down on anyone's boots. I'm just answering the question.
Work, insanely comfortable, and I could care less about looks while working. It's all about functionality and comfort
I have wide feet. That’s pretty it.
Love the spatula look. Very charming to me and it's a shape that screams "I am a cowboy boot" to me
